Our chocolate lab was spayed last Friday. The first few days felt very normal/fine. Then as of this Monday she’s lost interest in her food. Day one I got her to eat her breakfast via spritzing it with some olive oil. Day 2 that didn’t work.

Called the vet and they gave her an anti nausea pill just to see if that would help (on Tuesday she did gag a little and coughed up a nickel size amount of bile), but no results.

Am at a loss as otherwise she’s the same super high energy pup. The only other thing I can think is we had a bbq Sunday and while I don’t THINK she got any food out of that I’m wondering if she snagged a burnt piece of meat or licked some grill residue that upset her tummy? But you’d think that would resolve ina few days. Would love some help here.

Curious, have always been a dog uncle so this is a first for me being a dog parent. Chocolate lab puppy was spayed last Friday. Honestly been amazed at how well she’s dealt with it. Doesn’t seem to be in much/any discomfort. Opted to take the cone off as she doesn’t go after the stitches and at night/when she’s alone we’ll put surgery pajamas on her.

Starting yesterday she didn’t touch her food, eventually ate breakfast after I gave it a spritz of olive oil, and she’s been extremely whiney/insanely high energy. She’s usually huh energy but nothing like this and the whining has gone up about 150 percent if I were to make a guess.

Again her stitches look fine and she doesn’t seem to be in pain. Like she wants to play fetch and wrestle (we avoid this obviously!) , is this maybe a post spay hormone imbalance? I don’t want to dose her with trazadone but wondering if this is what we need to do till she’s through this?

Hey all - have a random question here. Have a custom Santa Maria that I love, that said the only place I feel it’s lacking is not having a lid. I wonder if there’s a product out there that’s like a large ish (enough to cover a chicken or two?) steel box with a handle that I could use to simply sit on top of the grates that covers the meat and keeps some of the smoke in. Not looking to actually do intensive smoke just keep some of the heat in without also getting a Weber kettle 😂
