Mandatory harassment training at work brought up a interesting scenario

The scenario is this : Special Ed aide at a school allows her student to call her auntie. Immediately I thought that’s perfectly ok but turns out that crosses several boundaries that can lead to abuse.

For people who went to school here, is calling a school employee auntie or uncle crossing a line?
