Moved over from 4k max firestick and noticed the movies are all playing with black bars.
Aware these are how there filmed etc but also wondered if I potentially had a setting wrong somewhere as well.
Fine with how it looks but just wanted to put to bed the thought I had something wrong somewhere!
I have seen many recommendations for external drives but a lot are for heavy use.
I will be using mine for
Occasional recording from tivimate.
Occasional use of plex casting a movie to my virtual cinema on oculus.
I will be very regimented on watched / delete approach.
Ive read their is some speed limitations on shield on casting etc and some are overkill. That I can build my own with some parts etc.
Just seeking best value for money for purpose.

Tried so many alternatives over the years and love these from Lidl.
I cant taste difference between these and my Napoli originals and at 13.95p a pod its great value (£2.79 for 20)
