Why does the press vest have mag pouches?

I'm not crazy, right? I edited this PNG with a little white outline for one of my recent vids, and when looking closer I came to the realization that the press vest has mag pouches... That seems strange, no? I understand it having pockets or other things for storing items like microphones or recorders or something, but these look like mag pouches, not just regular pockets. Why would a non-combatant need mag pouches? 🤔🤔🤔 Is there some sort of lore reason for this?

Have you ran into a blatant cheater in GZW, anytime in the last few months?

By "blatant" I mean ridiculous over-the-top cheating, such as blatant aimbot, speedhacking, flyhacking, etc.
