I have an app idea but zero coding experience. Where should I start with AI-assisted development?

Hey everyone, I have an idea and I want to learn how to actually build it.

I’m completely new to coding and AI-assisted development. I’ve used AI before for writing and a few basic things, but I’ve never actually built an app or website with AI.

Right now I have access to several AI tools. I have a ChatGPT Pro subscription, and I’ve also tried Claude, although I’m currently using the free version. I also have access to Gemini, Grok, and DeepSeek.

I asked two AIs to evaluate my idea honestly, and their opinions were quite different.

Claude:

Real-life problem: 70/100

Usefulness: 55/100

Uniqueness: 25/100

Overall potential: 45/100

Claude basically told me that the idea could solve a real problem, but the space may already be crowded and the technical side could be difficult.

GPT:

Real problem exists: 90%

Problem frequency: 85%

Usefulness: 90%

Uniqueness: 70%

Technical feasibility: 85%

Overall potential: 85/100

So I’m not asking people here to tell me whether my idea is good or bad. I mainly want to know how I should actually start building something when I have zero coding experience.

I’m a student, so I don’t really have money to spend on courses, expensive software, or developers. I’m mainly interested in learning through free resources and AI-assisted development.

What I’d really appreciate is a practical roadmap:

What programming basics should I learn first?

Should I start with web development or Android development?

Which free YouTube courses or websites would you recommend?

Which AI tools are actually useful for coding?

How should I divide the work between ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, etc.?

What free tools should I use for writing, testing, debugging and deploying?

How much coding do I realistically need to learn if AI is helping me?

What should my first tiny project be before I attempt something bigger?

What mistakes should a complete beginner avoid?

Is it realistic to build a basic working product without spending money?

I’m not looking for someone to build it for me. I want to learn how to use AI properly as a development partner and eventually build things myself.

I’m keeping the actual idea private for now, so I’m deliberately not describing the product itself. I’m mainly looking for advice on the learning path, tools, workflow, and roadmap.

If you were starting from zero today with only a phone, free resources, and access to several AI tools, what would you do first?

Bj&p = sanatani ?

I’ve been thinking about what the future of this country might look like. My question is: if the BJ&P eventually loses power and another government comes in, what happens to people who blindly followed them?

If, in the future, more information comes out about what the BJP did, will these people acknowledge their mistakes and admit that they were wrong? Or will they simply change their stance and pretend they never supported the BJ&P in the first place?

I’m genuinely curious about how people’s reactions would change if the political climate shifted completely. Would they accept what happened, defend their past beliefs, or simply deny that they ever supported it?

I’d like to hear what others think about this.

I’m watching Succession again, and somehow my life is starting to feel like the show

Hello guys, I wanted to tell you about something pretty crazy that's been happening in my life lately.

I'm currently watching Succession. I actually watched the first season about a year ago, but now I'm continuing it again because my own situation has started to feel weirdly similar to the show. Not exactly the same, obviously, but almost.

My father has become very sick, and we have a small family business. We're not some huge company like Waystar Royco, but because I'm the eldest son, I've ended up taking responsibility for the business while my father is sick. I don't really know what I'm doing or what is going to happen, honestly.

And I have a younger brother who's kind of like Roman in some ways. He's always around, making stupid jokes and messing around, while I'm dealing with the responsibility.

My relationship with my mother isn't very good either, so sometimes even that dynamic reminds me of the Roy family.

And when I go to the shop, I don't even really know who is actually on my side and who isn't. That's probably the part that feels the most like Succession to me. There are all these people around, but you don't always know what they're thinking or who you can actually trust.

If I had to describe it in one scene, it almost feels like that part in Season 1 when Logan gets sick and the whole family comes to the hospital. That's basically the kind of situation I'm in right now.

Obviously, my life isn't literally Succession, and I'm not Kendall Roy. But watching the show right now while all of this is happening is honestly pretty weird.

(And yeah, I do feel like I'm in a bit of a Kendall-type situation, but at the same time, I somehow relate to Greg too. 😭)

Let's see what happens next.

my watchlist .

So, hello everyone!

I can't decide which show I should start from my watchlist right now, so I need your help.

Could you rank them and tell me which one I should start with first, second, third, and so on? I'd also love to know what you think about my watchlist in general.

I know it's pretty big, but I'm genuinely confused about where to start. 😅

Arts student choosing a college course tomorrow. I really need your advice.

myquals

Hey guys,

My college admission hasn't happened yet, but the admission portal opens tomorrow, so I'll finally be applying. The problem is that I still haven't decided which course to choose.

I'm from the Arts stream. My subjects were:

Hindi

English

History

Economics

Political Science

I'm hoping you can recommend the best courses for me and, more importantly, explain why you recommend them.

My interests lean toward technology and AI, even though I don't own a computer or laptop yet. I know an Arts background limits some options, but I'm still willing to work hard and learn new skills if there's a realistic path.

To be completely honest, my biggest goal is to build a stable career where I can earn well. I'm open to different fields if they have good long-term opportunities.

I'd really appreciate any suggestions, especially from people who've been in a similar situation or know what career paths are worth considering after an Arts background.

Thanks in advance. I genuinely appreciate any advice

19M from India. My family wants me to give up my education, my college admission failed, my health is getting worse, and I feel completely trapped. I don't know what to do anymore.

Title

19M . My family wants me to give up my education, my college admission failed, my health is getting worse, and I feel completely trapped. I don't know what to do anymore.

Body

Hi everyone.

I'm a 19-year-old male from India, and I'm writing this because I genuinely don't know what to do anymore. My anxiety is so bad that I can't even organize my thoughts properly, so if this post feels all over the place, I'm sorry.

I can't explain my entire life in one post, but I'll try to share the most important parts.

I don't have a good relationship with my family. It's just me, my parents, and my younger brother, but I don't feel emotionally close to any of them. Most of the time, I feel like I'm alone, even inside my own home.

I recently graduated from 12th grade. My grades were decent, and I was genuinely happy that I had passed. I wanted to continue my education, but my father has never believed that education is worth anything. We have a small family shop, and his expectation is that I should forget about college and spend the rest of my life working there.

The problem is that I don't want that life.

Every day feels exactly the same. The same chair, the same customers, the same routine. I feel like if I stay there forever, my life will slowly disappear. I don't want to wake up one day and realize I never even got the chance to try.

College admissions opened this year. I missed the first admission phase because I was confused about which course I should choose. Nobody around me could guide me. When the second phase started, I applied on the very first day. I simply chose the course that people at the cyber café suggested because I honestly had no idea what was best for me.

A few days later, every application was rejected.

Right now, I'm not admitted to any college. I don't know if I'll even get another chance before all the seats are full, and that thought is eating me alive.

Around a month ago, my father's health became worse, so I've been sitting in the family shop every day for the past week from morning until late at night. I understand why I'm doing it, and I don't hate helping my family, but I also feel like my own future is disappearing while I'm sitting there.

My health hasn't been good either.

For almost two years, my eyes have been itchy almost every day. I've repeatedly asked my parents to take me to an eye doctor, but every time they say, "Next week." That "next week" has now become almost two years.

When I take pictures of myself, one of my eyes looks slightly smaller than the other. Maybe it's nothing serious, but it has completely destroyed my confidence. I rarely take photos anymore because every time I notice it, I feel terrible.

I also had jaundice in the past. The doctor told me I would need medication for a long time, but the treatment was stopped because my family didn't think it was necessary. Around 25% of my hair has already turned white, and I honestly don't know why.

Financially, things aren't great either.

I only have three sets of clothes that I've been wearing repeatedly for a long time. Some of them are already worn out, but I don't even have the courage to ask for new ones because I'm afraid of being rejected.

At the same time, my father buys branded clothes for himself. I'm not saying he shouldn't. It's his money, and he has every right to spend it however he wants. I'm only sharing this because the contrast makes me feel invisible sometimes.

Back in 12th grade, even paying my tuition fees caused arguments at home. I've seen fights over money, I've seen my mother cry, and I've heard people make fun of me over educational expenses. Those memories still stay with me.

I don't think I've suffered more than everyone else. I know there are people who have much harder lives. But this is the life I'm trying to deal with, and right now it feels overwhelming.

I don't really have friends either.

I changed schools three different times while growing up, so I never built long-term friendships. I honestly don't even know how to make close friends anymore.

Meanwhile, I watch my younger brother go out with his friends, enjoy late-night outings, laugh, and actually live his life. He's only two or three years younger than me, but sometimes it feels like he's living while I'm just existing.

I've never had a girlfriend either. A few girls showed interest in me over the years, but I never took things further. Looking back, I think I was scared. I was afraid of becoming like my father. I was afraid that one day I might treat someone the way I've seen people treated at home, and I never wanted that.

The hardest part is that I don't have anyone I can truly talk to.

I once tried opening up to my mother. Later, during an argument, she used those personal things against me. After that, I stopped sharing my feelings.

I can't talk to my brother either because I've seen him joke about other people's personal problems with his friends. That destroyed my trust.

So now I keep everything inside.

To summarize everything:

Within a single week, my college admission was rejected, I'm worried I may never get into college this year, I'm spending almost all my time at the family shop, my health problems remain untreated, I don't see a clear future, and I don't have anyone I feel safe talking to.

The only positive thing in my life recently is that we finally got Wi-Fi at home a few months ago. Before that, I only had limited mobile data. Now I spend some of my free time watching movies on my phone because, for a little while, they help me forget everything that's happening in my own life.

I know movies can't solve my problems, but sometimes they're the only thing that gives my mind a break.

Edit* (( On top of that, this feels like my last chance to make friends. College is probably the only place where I have any realistic opportunity to build genuine friendships. The sad part is that my hometown has only one college, and honestly, it's not a good one. The quality of education is poor, the infrastructure is disappointing, and it's nowhere close to what I had imagined. Not even 1%. Even so, I hoped my parents would let me study outside my hometown so I could have a better future, but they refused. They told me I wasn't allowed to leave for education. So in the end, this college is my only option. And guess what the irony is? I don't even like this college, and the college doesn't seem to want me either. It feels like neither of us wants the other, yet it's the only path I have left.))

If you've read this far, thank you.

I'm not asking anyone to fix my life. I just want honest advice.

If you were 19, stuck in a family business you didn't want, unsure whether you'd even get into college, struggling with untreated health issues, and feeling completely alone... what would you do first?

Recommend me a movie based on my life right now.

Hey everyone,

I'm M19, and I'm looking for a movie that genuinely matches my current situation.

I have a family, but I still feel lonely most of the time. My relationship with my parents and my younger brother isn't great, and I often feel emotionally disconnected from the people around me.

I finished Class 12, but I still haven't been able to move forward with college. I don't even fully understand why I'm stuck. On top of that, my father has been unwell recently, so I've had to take on more responsibility helping with our family business, while it feels like everyone else my age is simply enjoying life.

I also struggle to connect with people. I've changed schools several times, so I never really built lasting friendships. I've had opportunities to talk to girls, but I usually freeze, avoid eye contact, and never know how to take the next step.

Movies have always been one of the few things that help me understand my own emotions. They let me experience lives and feelings that I sometimes feel I've missed out on.

Based on everything I've shared, what movie would you recommend? I'm not necessarily looking for a happy movie I'm looking for one that will make me feel understood or help me see my situation from a different perspective.

Thank you.

West Bengal (Paschim Bardhaman): Need college and course advice after missing admission in the second phase

Hello everyone,

I'm from Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal, and I passed Class 12 this year in the Arts stream with Hindi, English, Economics, Political Science, and History.

Unfortunately, I couldn't secure admission even in the second phase, so I'm trying to figure out what my next step should be.

If I visit colleges directly, what courses should I ask about? Are there any colleges in or around Paschim Bardhaman that still have admissions open for Arts students?

I'm also confused about which degree would be the best choice. Right now, I'm considering BA (Political Science, English, or Hindi), but I'm open to other options if they have better career prospects.

I'm interested in technology and AI, although I don't have a technical background. I might want to move into the tech industry in the future, so I'd like to choose a degree that won't limit my options later.

If you're from West Bengal or have gone through a similar situation, I'd really appreciate your advice. Which colleges should I visit, and which courses do you think I should consider?

Thank you!

Dream. It's the only one that never leaves me. ?

Hello everyone,

I have a question about psychology, and I'm curious if anyone can explain what's happening.

Whenever my younger brother and I have even a small argument, he immediately calls my parents. But something strange happens: he doesn't attack me before they arrive. Instead, he waits until one of my parents enters the room. The moment they walk in, he suddenly hits or pushes me, and then immediately hides behind them.

Because he's standing behind my parents, I can't react without risking getting into trouble myself. On top of that, my parents usually don't give me a chance to explain my side of the story before they react.

I'm genuinely curious about the psychology behind this behavior. Is there a known psychological explanation for why someone would wait until an authority figure arrives before becoming aggressive, and then use that person as protection?

I'd appreciate any insights.
