Male, 20's American VA needed for Video Game ($200)

Hi there!! I'm a solo dev creating a point and click style mystery game, similar to the Nancy Drew PC series. I'm looking to cast a male VA with an early-20's sounding American voice. The game is very dialogue heavy, and the audition (and payment!) are ONLY for the games prologue! If you are interested in this, please note I would need a lot more dialogue at a later date (and additional payments would match this of course!)

Character:

Chandler is a 21 year old college student, and the main character of the game (the game is also titled after him!). He's a journalism major and writes for the student newspaper. He's clever, witty, cocky, but friendly. Uses jokes and sarcasm often. Typical American college student (except maybe slightly better).

Audition lines:

Chandler: (Mumbling, looking through suitcase) Swim trunks, flip flops, goggles... I think I'm all set. (phone rings) That must be Conner calling from Florida.

Chandler: 'Sup!

Chandler: (Surprised) Oh. Dean Willoughby. Hi. Uh, yes. This is he.

Feel free to send in your own VA reel, but using the lines are highly encouraged!

To avoid scammers, please do not send me a DM! All payments will be made securely through Paypal!!

Female, 20's, Needed for Video Game (PAID - $150)

Hi there!! I'm a solo dev creating a point and click style mystery game, similar to the Nancy Drew PC series. I'm looking to cast a female VA with an early-20's sounding American voice. The game is very dialogue heavy, and the audition (and payment!) are ONLY for the games prologue! If you are interested in this, please note I would need a lot more dialogue at a later date (and additional payments would match this of course!) This payment would be made for dialouge that's a little over 1,000 words.

Character:

Elena is a 21 year old college student. She is hard-working, determined, very clever and intelligent. Has a hard outer shell thats tough to crack- I would describe her as a Hermoine Granger type of character. She's a bit sassy. She's also the second MC and is the main MC's love interest.

Audition lines:

Elena: Oh, and one more thing. I know Dean Willoughby told us we wouldn't be able to get up onto the roof, but...

Elena: (Exasperated/Amused): Just try not to get arrested. And keep your eyes peeled. You never know what might pop up when you least expect it.

Feel free to send in your own VA reel, but using the lines are highly encouraged!

Using Video player in Timeline?

Hi there, I'm using the Adventure Creator plugin to make a 2D point and click game that mostly uses video clips for dialogue. I have a lengthy dialogue thats unlike other dialogues in my game, where video clips are often used back to back. I'm trying to set it up in Adventure Creator using Actionlists, but I'm wondering if it would be smoother if using the timeline feature. The issue is that I've been looking around and am not sure how to use a videoplayer component to play videos, and more than that, how I could switch out video clips in the video player? Just trying to find the smoothest path forward here... thanks!

Prices for looping music?

This isn't an official post commissioning a composer, but I just wanted to get a feel for price ranges and what to expect.

I'm making a video game similar to the Nancy Drew series (90's point and click) and am looking to get music made in a similar style (atmospheric, mystery-like, etc). I need around 5 different looping songs for each in-game location, and also some intense music here and there. I'm a solo indie developer paying out of pocket for everything, so how much should I expect to pay a composer or what is fair for what I'm looking for?

[Hiring] Steam Game Title Graphic Needed, $120

Hi guys!!

I am developing a 2D, first person point & click adventure game inspired by the Nancy Drew PC series. I am looking for an illustrator to do the background art of a title graphic.

The art would ideally be of a college building, leaving specific space on either the right or left for the title (which I will add in myself). The examples included are examples of the type of art style I'm looking for.

To avoid scammers, please comment and do not DM! I will not respond to DMs. Payment done securely through Paypal. Thanks!! :)

Middle-Aged Adult Female VA Needed - 40 words, ($20)

Hi there!!

I'm making a story-based, detective video game similar to the Nancy Drew series and am looking for a middle-aged American female VA. It's only 37 words total and the payment is $20. This is the only dialogue in my game needed for this role.

Character:

The character, Claudia Chase, is the mother of the main player character. She is divorced from the MC's father and spends the alimony money traveling to luxurious places. She's aloof and somewhat "almond mom"-ish, kind of an older hippie vibe, but still very upper-crust and disengaged with the world.

Setting:

This scene takes place when the main character tries to call his mother. This is the voicemail the player recieves.

Script:

Claudia: "You've reached Claudia Donovan, formerly Claudia Chase. I'm currently exploring the vast region of Morocco with my spiritual advisor, Ivan, and am without cell service. I'll give you a call back whenever I'm somewhere less remote. Namaste!"

Edit: Hi guys, I saw a comment saying this post was a scam or AI-model training… it’s definitely not hahaha I have already casted multiple roles from this subreddit and paid them for their work!! You can look at my post history, this is clearly for a video game! Also if you don’t want to audition with the entire script, that’s totally fine, you can send in a partial script or a demo reel. I am very against AI, which is why I come here to find real actors and pay them for their work!!!

PNG Sequencer only showing still image

I've followed every tutorial step-by-step and sequencing PNG's is still not working. I click only the 00000 png at the top of my files, click on PNG sequencer, interpret foottage and make sure the FPS is right, add it to a new composition. Looking at the composition settings the duration is 4 seconds (which is correct, there are 121 frames at 30FPS), but when I press play it acts like a single still frame and generally only moves 0:00:00:01 frame/millisecond. What am I doing wrong or how do I fix this??

Older Male African American VA Needed - $150, 950 Words (MORE WORK LATER)

Hi there!!

I'm making a story-based video game with 3D characters similar to the Nancy Drew series. I am in need of an older male African American VA. The role is currently for 900-950 words, but is only for the demo I'm releasing. At a later date, I would need a lot more work done (possibly beyond 5000+ words for the whole game), so I would need someone who is interested in or able to do a bigger project. I am currently unsure how much dialogue this character would need in the full game, but once I have a better idea, we can discuss the payment for the whole project. Looking for a normal voice and tempo with not so much over-acting (a little is fine). The total payment is $150 for just this work alone, not the entire project.

Character:

The character is named Charles Willoughby, who is the Dean of the college that the game is set at. He is an older gentleman (50s-60s), African American, stern, well spoken/educated, and has a lot on his plate given his role.

Setting:

There are two scenes where his voice is needed. In the first one, he is calling the player to ask him to visit him in his office. In the second, he's discussing the murder investigation that he's giving to the player character.

Script for Audition:

Willoughby: "Hello. Is this Mr. Chase? This is Charles Willoughby speaking."

---

Willoughby: "Quinn Whittaker was a student at Briarwood... up until a month ago, when she was found deceased outside of the library."

Willoughby: "Furthermore, the board wants the two of you to begin investigating right away. With all the students gone for the break, this may be the only opportunity you will have to conduct a full and proper investigation."

There is much more dialogue (about 6-8 minutes worth) than what's given here, but as it's large and has multiple scenes, I will have to share my script with you. The script given is just to help me envision your voice onto the character, but if you would prefer to send in your own work, that's fine too.

To avoid scammers please do not send a DM!! Payment will be made securely through Paypal. Thanks :)

Mid-20's Male VA Needed - 70 words ($30) MORE WORK IN FUTURE

Hi there!!

I'm making a story-based video game similar to the Nancy Drew series (if this reads like deja-vu, I posted a role a couple days ago for the same game). I am in need for a mid-20's American male VA. The role is currently for 70 words, but will later lead to much more work. The current script is for the demo alone and the full game will likely have 1000+ words, so I would need someone who would be able to do a larger project and would also be available at a later date. Looking for a normal voice and tempo with not so much over-acting (a little is fine).

Character:

The character is named Marcus, he is a 21-year-old American college student. He is a star athlete and frat boy-adjacent. He is the MC's roommate and best friend.

Setting:

The scene takes place inside a dorm room talking to his roommate (the player). The two of them are about to leave for Spring Break but are interrupted by a call from the Dean. The scene is fairly relaxed, banter between two friends.

Script:

Marcus: "Who was that?"

Marcus: "Seriously? Right before we're supposed to hit the road?"

Marcus: "Whoa... you don't think this has to do with Barry, right?"

Marcus: "Either way, keep my name out of it. The last thing I need is to get kicked out of school. My parents would probably make me enlist in the military."

Marcus: "Good luck, bro. I'll be waiting in the Student Center whenever you're ready to go."

Again, I will need a lot more dialogue at a later date, and we can discuss payment for that down the road when I figure out how long the script ends up being. So I will need someone who is on-board for a longer/bigger project!

Young Female VA Needed, 35 words ($20)

Hi guys!!!

I'm making a story-based video game similar to the Nancy Drew series. I am in need for a young, mid-twenties female VA. There are only 35 words and they will be at the beginning of the game. VA with a more natural sounding voice is better (not sure how to word that but less cartoony!)

Character:

The character is named Quinn, she's a 21 y/o college student who's the top of her class. Prior to the game, she is found dead outside the Library building (hence the minimal amount of lines).

Setting:

The scene in question takes place on the Library rooftop at midnight. Quinn is meeting up with a suspect who is, at the time, unknown to the player. She is anxiously discussing information that needs to be shared with the college, information which is also unknown to the player at the time.

Script:

Quinn: I know, I know, but... this isn't something we should hide.

Quinn: We need to take this information to the College. They should really know about this.

Quinn, (surprised tone): Wait... what are you doing?!

Quinn, (in a struggle): Give me that back! Hey!

It's possible I may need more clips of dialogue in the future, which we could then discuss further on payment, etc. You would also be included in credits.

Why does my character look so bad when imported into Unity (Character Creator 5)

PLEASE NOTE: I'm using prerendered backgrounds (2.5D) so the image behind my character is not actual 3d objects but a sprite, and he's positioned to look like he's sitting. Using URP.

I have global volume on and multiple lights. No post processing yet, but I can't imagine it completely changing the waxy skin and glazed eyeballs... I'm using Character Creator 5 to import characters.

3D HDRP: Why are my sprite renders suddenly dark?

First pic is from when I was using 2D URP and the second pic is when I changed to 3D HDRP...

My game is 2.5d using 3d NPC's but 2d everything else (the image is prerendered). I can't tell any difference to why it looks like this. I have NO lights in my scene, no global volume, literally only cameras and sprite renderings. Also when I put lights in the sprites dont seem to be affected. The original sprites look normal in the project manager but in the scene/game are super dark.

Moving to HDRP: Why are my sprites suddenly dark?

First pic is from when I was using 2D URP and the second pic is when I changed to 3D HDRP...

My game is 2.5d using 3d NPC's but 2d everything else (the image is prerendered). I can't tell any difference to why it looks like this. I have 0 lights in my scene which might be why, but I don't want the sprites affected by lighting. Also when I put lights in the sprites dont seem to be affected.

u/FreekyGirlGames — 2 months ago

2.5D game: URP or HDRP?

My game is 90% 2D (prerendered backgrounds) but I have 3D NPC's (similar to the Nancy Drew PC series). When importing 3D characters, they don't look very good or detailed (I'm using Reallusion Character Creator 5 to make characters so they should look pretty good). I'm wondering if I transfer it to HDRP instead of my current URP build if that will fix this issue. I'm using lighting set ups imported from Character Creator so in theory, it should look good, but it still looks a little bleh... But would it even be worth it to switch over/is it a lot of hassle? My game currently sits at 1gb (I think it will be max 5gb) so I don't want it to be super heavy memory wise.
