Launchpad, IOS27, and the Magic Keyboard F4/Launchpad shortcut

I'm keen to know what replaces launchpad on 27, and what happens if I use the launchpad key F4 on my Magic Keyboard?

Presently trying to decide if I want to move from Sequoia.

TIA

YAGE as FSOL used to be!

The other day I created a smart play list of tracks I’d favourited, that are by or mixed by YAGE. What emerged was like FSOL back in Lifeforms/ISDN days.

What’s behind that?

I don’t know much about Yage, is it a different person or project/collaboration? How is it that they sound more like FSOL than FSOL do these days?

(Hey being a mod doesn’t make me all knowledgable)

Tech Support Question

I’m with a fibre altnet. I have a fairly big house with a cinema room in it. I want my cinema room to be separate so have utilised one of the two erros from my ISP just for devices in the cinema room, a vigor and an ampak device. An IT person i know set this bit up and frankly i don’t know what it connects to.

The Gateway erro connects to a switch with CAT6, and thats got the usual devices off that. Laptops etc and a few ubiquity access points that connect wireless devices.

The problem is i get random buffering, and pages etc seem to take ages to download. My ISP say that the service is working fine, and the gateway is doing it’s usually check daily which do support this. Also there are “unknown reason” outages of a minute or two in the connection logs. What can I reasonably expect the ISP to help me with?

If you're introducing FSOL to someone new, what would your recommendations be?

On another sub I answered the following.

Yage 2019, and ISDN (White) are good entry points.

Cascade 2020, and Lifeforms next.

Then if you like those try E7.001, 002, and 003.

And if they work, just look up their Environments and From the Archives.

Live gigs, find their Essential Mix 2 from June 1995. The official mp3 of this was called Fuct Up Soup.

FREE PARTY: A FOLK HISTORY / STREAMING NOW!

The soundtrack includes quite a few FSOL and related tracks. I’ve waited so long to see this film it was a real treat to finally watch it this evening.

Free Party: A Folk History

The film follows the inception of the movement, a meeting between ravers and the new age travellers during Thatcher's last days in power, and the explosive years that followed, leading up the infamous Castlemorton free festival in 1992 - the largest ever illegal rave, which provoked the drastic change of the laws of trespass with the notorious introduction of the Criminal Justice Act in 1994.

I’m in no way affiliated with the film, just really appreciate it, and hope you might too.

Full track-list for all you trainspotters out there.

What sort of misunderstanding may have lead to this couple not paying when they left a restaurant?

I'm struggling to understand how there's a need to even try and describe this as a misunderstanding.

I will not be surprised if the restaurant introduce a dress code in response to this. I wouldn't even attempt to enter there dressed like this.

TP Turns up in unexpected places

Where have you unexpectedly come across a Twin Peaks reference?

Having an office tidy today, and was reminded of this great catalogue of bikes by UK bike maker Genesis.

And there it is, on the contents page.

Clifton suspension bridge at night 21/3/2008

One of my first wanders around with the camera when I moved to Bristol.

I do love that Bridge, so photogenic.

Anyone else got a favourite photo of it?

An unexpected FSOL experience in 1997 and "The Mythical 1998 Album"

I have this tape from KISS FM June 1997 which features part of "Trying To Make Impermanent Things Permanent".

I'd never seen it online or discussed anywhere, until I found this rough restoration on Mixcloud. Recently DJ Food found and digitised the show in it's entirety, although after downloading it I can't find the link. This is all I have Solid Steel - Kiss Fm - 29.06.1997.

I later found that it was one of their Peel Sessions but most recently I came across this title "Bootleg - The Mythical 1998 Album".

This has the track, and another favourite of mine "Tudor Oake". But this, I know very little about.

Has anyone got any more info?

Cockroaches at McD’s on St Mary St. What radius to avoid?

It's fine, they've been dealt with?
Just the resturant?
Both next door premises?
From the betting shop down to the first arcade?
St Mary Street?
Town?
Cardiff?
Wales?

The prophecy was unmistakable

He danced for 18 hours, staring straight into the sun, until at length a great vision came. He believed the world was made of shadows, and that he could dream himself into the real world that lay beyond.
