buying 1K BOXX using free gold margin loan

does anyone else do this or some variant of it?

I get 1K free margin loan so why not buy BOXX and collect some cash every month, which goes to pay for gold, or at least brings the cost of gold down so its just around $1/month instead of $5/month

how to have greater capacity or stamina

ive noticed whats different about me and other people is that my energy capacity is just lower. this means im ready to sleep a lot earlier in the night while others can go well past midnight. this also means i can recharge more easily, like after a normal night's sleep, say in just 6-7 hours maximum while those folks who stayed up all night need much more overnight sleep (9 hours) and even a long (1-2 hour long) daytime nap

no matter what i do, coffee or diet, etc, i can't increase my energy capacity to do well super late at night and i can't increase my sleep length so i can recharge longer.

have you dealt with this problem?

how does your energy level vary throughout the day?

do most people here have consistent energy levels throughout the day until bedtime (like driving a car until it runs out of gas/battery) or does it go up and down like a roller coaster?

for me i have major dips late morning, early afternoon and again late afternoon. i need short naps to pull out of it. i have sleep apena and doctors are working on treating it.

my partner has a big dip late afternoon, before dinner

i have a 5 year old, has a big crash around dinnertime so she ends up eating really late

my 2 year old needs a long nap after lunch

i personally really dislike the fatigue that we all deal with, it throws a lot of disruption into our day. me or any other members of the family may need to step out to nap or find coffee and thats hard when we have a schedule and are on the go, and we need naps at different times at a day...we were all just at disneyland and security will stop you if you try to lie down anywhere....extremely inconvenient

what about you?

do you find fewer things excite you as you get older

I'm in my 40s with young kids at home. The smallest things can excite a lot, like going to the playground, chicken nuggets or watching cartoons.

Those things used to excite me too when I was little. As I got older it took more and more. These days the list of what could excite me has gotten very small. I'm just not wowed by something I've done many times before.

Do you relate to this? Did you have any solutions to combat that?

First 2 nights on xywav

I’m being treated for IH, first two nights on xywav I took 2.25g 2x a night. I didn’t notice much changes during the day or night. Still had fragmented sleep. Typical nighttime sleep block was 2-2.75 hours with shorter blocks as the night goes on. Typical daytime schedule is 3 naps with 2-3 hours in between naps. Still needed modafinil.

Anyone’s experience similar or different on xywav?

i've been asked to start at 2.25g and slowly move up. can i start even lower than that? such as 1g? scared of side effects

wife matches symptoms but took assessment and was negative

wife (n dx) has a lot of the symptoms of adhd (from reading Reddit/Youtube/online they sure match well) but when took an expensive formal assessment (a questionnaire that they took and two family members also took) it came out as below the threshold for adhd but on the cusp of it

she also took ASRS v1.1 and it came out negative since she only had 2 of the criteria in the 1st section and the requirement is at least 4

i still feel like she matches well with adhd symptoms.

how to understand this discrepancy?

how to separate how you feel from your partner

historically, by myself, im rather emotionally stable. however, when my partner's mood goes down, i find mine going down as well. its quite unpredictable as it seems small things can swing their mood a round. this perhaps has connections back to my childhood when i would be very scared by my mom who could get into a rage and even hit me when upset. my emotional response is pretty much automatic. i can hear the change in tone of voice, body language, all of it and i can feel my heartbeat going up, palms getting sweaty and muscles tightening

any suggestions for how to separate how i feel from others?

are there any of you who don't play with your toddlers?

I've noticed my wife doesn't really play with the toddlers at home. Theres always chores and an endless list of to-dos. If its not chores, then its resting, recovering and/or self care. Play with the toddlers is pretty much lowest priority. She's said its not interesting to her.

She might take them out to some public location and have them enjoy the arts and crafts or kid's playground, but almost certainly nothing like that at home. Fortunately we have 2 kids so they play with each other.

Curious to hear if anyone else out there has a similar experience and why or why don't you play with them at home?

Garage door difficulty closing

My garage door when closing will suddenly reverse and then hit the maximum open position and click like 10 times. This is inconsistent as in sometimes it will fully close, sometimes reverse 1/3 of the way down, sometimes just as it starts its way down. I can’t tell if there is anything wrong.

How does your energy level vary across the day?

I being treated for sleep apnea but still have ongoing symptoms similar to Narcolepsy type 2. Here is what my day looks like. I’m curious to hear about yours and if you have any sleep disorders or not.

I wake up in the morning feeling quite good, heart pounding and full of adrenaline, but it kind of wears off about an hour later and this pressure in my head, or brain fog, starts to build gradually.

About 2 hours after being awake, I desperately need a 10-15 minute nap. Its a light nap where i'm never totally out, still aware of my surroundings. I think of it like a computer reboot where after a few minutes I feel happy, pleasurable chemicals surge in my brain and this feeling of coming back to normalcy.

Each nap helps me really good for an hour and maybe just okay for an hour after that. After lunch, the brain fog is at its worst. It feels like a depression has set in and a huge pressure is building in my head is napping is how I open the valve to release it. The desire to nap is so strong that even a 100mg modafinil stimulant won't be able to push it out. I can sleep just about anywhere and even a few minutes is enough to starve off the worse of it.

If I get that after lunch nap in, the mid afternoon afterwards is the best part of the day where my head feels totally clear and I feel like I can do anything. This best part of the day unfortunately lasts only 2-3 hours and by 530pm I need another nap. This is usually during the afternoon drive home so I'm often pulling to the side of the road and napping with my neck pillow on the seat reclined. I have spots along my commute that I know are safe to pull over and nap.

The early evening is okay, but by this time of the day, the naps are less restorative and overall max energy levels are just quite a bit lower. I'm at home at night with young kids and that seems to drain me out as I don't get to do what I like to do and am buried in childcare. I might have one more nap at 8pm, and while it does push away brain fog, it leaves me feeling kind of in a low energy state that power naps no longer bring me out of.

I'm in bed by midnight on many days, falling asleep quite quickly. I use CPAP to manage sleep apnea, but still end up waking several times at night, each time for 10-15 minutes typical. A typical waking schedule might be 3am, 5am, 6am. Each time I wake up feeling my heart pounding and use the bathroom. According to the sleep tracking capabilities of my Apple Watch, I'm waking up even more, maybe 10 times at night, with more of them clustered in the latter half of the night.

I think whats hardest about my condition is having such a disrupted day. It's hard to take the kids anywhere because if one of my naps is coming, driving is very hard and taking care of the kids is very hard and finding a chance to nap is impossible unless they're both napping as well.

At work, I'm doing what I can to slot naps in. I'll find gaps in my schedule to sneak to a quiet room or my car to nap. I'll bring a sweater as a pillow if I need to. If I have multi-hour meetings I have to sneak out. If the meeting includes lunch and into the afternoon, I'll skip lunch and go to the car. It's really annoying to have to disrupt my schedule so much but it's necessary as my batteries are just so limited.

Someone told me as we get older our energy level is like having older batteries. They have lower capacity and need to be charged more often. I can totally see that as my 5 year old can seemingly go at full capacity the entire day and then crash and sleep for 12 hours.

Would love to hear your experiences of what a day looks like with N2.

i miss how kitchen faucets used to have the handle at the top and moving it to the left is hot, middle is warm and right is hold

now that most of the one's i see open from the side and its more like top hot and bottom cold, its less intuitive to me to set the right temperature

anyone else feel this way and what are some good alternatives?
