Anyone else notice this?
Made the photo myself just for the visual similarities but did anyone else notice that the Furby Boom Crystal Series are low-key just pride flags? LOL
Idk if Hasbro knew what they were doing but I love it
Shroomy Vibes ✨️
Love this little fella, I have yet to get him an alarm clock buddy, I wish they weren't so stupidly expensive 😭
Lotus Flowers 🪷
Recently got this set for only about $10 on sale off Amazon! Later discovered Wal-Mart now sells em for $9 lol
I got the vase today from a thrift store for only $3!
I know this set isn't technically a botanical set and never was re-released under the botanical line but I still like to lightly group it with the botanical sets!
Cosmos Flowers 🌼
Picked up the new Cosmos Flowers set from Wal-Mart today and for the price, this set is really cute! I adore the little beetle they added for this set! The colors are also very nice
I didn't have a small vase on hand so it'll sit in the empty Tequila bottle for now LOL
I Feel So Shit.
Today, I had to take two of my Budgies to the vet, one for a progress exam and the other for her first checkup since she needed it
To give a little backstory here:
Yellow was a Budgie that I got for my grandfather's 80th birthday, she was a Lutino Budgie as far as I'm aware and she was given to me by a guy who had to rehome her. When she came to me I did notice her vent was a little green but it went away relatively quick after settling in
Unfortunately, in late January, my grandfather had passed away, and while we were away in Europe for the funeral, Yellow worsened. Her feathers were falling out from her vent to her chest, she had a very liquid stool and overall wasn't doing well. I had to rinse her with warm water almost daily to keep her clean.
I eventually got recommended milk thistle by a friend of mine to try and well, it did sorta help but not a lot? I saw some feather growth but not more than her chest. She was also obsessed with cuttlebone and this made me and my friends [who are great with avian care] think she might be eggbound or hormonal?
I was finally able to get her examined properly and the vet told me that she had a large solid mass in her abdomen area, which could be an egg or a tumor or something similar. We went over the medication that she could have received with their care but she did say that there was little chance she'd get better or make it given the circumstances. So after half an hour I had concluded that euthanasia was the humane thing to do.
This killed me, loosing another piece of my grandfather killed me so so SO much. To make matters worse, when I told my mother, she went off on me saying how I killed the bird and how I'm an idiot for doing that and how I should have just let her live and basically suffer? I tried to explain that it's not that simple but she wouldn't listen to me whatsoever and kept going off on me and calling me a bird killer.
I haven't felt this low since my grandfather's passing. Mind you I had to also euthanize my elderly Betta earlier this year and life has been so rough these past few months. Have I done the right thing, or did I make a huge mistake? I really don't know what to think or feel anymore.
Regardless, I will miss her with all of my heart, she wasn't in our flock for long but she left a forever lasting impact and we will all miss her greatly.
Diamond Dove & Rock Dove Egg Size Comparison
The size difference between these two is honestly quite astounding!
Sunflower Bouquet! 🌻
Got a sealed Sunflower Bouquet for half of it's retail locally and we had this random vase sitting around and it really tied the whole thing together!
Little Orange Friend 🧡
I got this cool shot of my Mexican Dwarf Crayfish that I got a month or two ago, still haven't given em a name yet but I adore this little fella, he eats out bloodworms right out of the tongs I use! Very silly fella
Rate My Tank!
Hello everyone! I wanted to showcase my semi-new planted 20 gallon tank! This was my 2nd ever attempt at a natural freshwater tank alone and I think I did pretty good!
This tank houses the following: Victoria [Female Crowntail Betta Fish], 8 Ember Tetras, 6 Bronze Corydoras, 1 Mystery Snail, 3 Nerite Snails, some Blue shrimp & microfauna if u wanna count those!
I can't remember the name of all the plants I used besides Java Fern & Amazon Swords but there's at least 5 or 6 different types of plants
Overall I'm happy with the results but I'd like to hear some opinions! : ]
My little flock!
Here's some cute photos I recently got of my budgies! I got these while they were out playing around : ]
Photo 1 is Teal, Photo 2 is Kiwi & Petunia, Photo 3 just Kiwi, Photo 4 is Sky [Kiwi's sister], Photo 5 is Petunia & Photo 6 is another photo of Sky just on the little Java perch!
It's so funny how they all have their little dynamics with each other and it makes me giggle every time they all hang out as a group alongside my 2 conures! Share some photos of ur birds in the comments!!!
New Crested Gecko Tank!
Hello everyone, this is my first ever post on this subreddit and I wanna show off my male Crested Gecko's new bioactive tank! :D

To give a little back story, I got this fella from an elderly gentleman who simply didn't have the means to take care of his geckos anymore and he had to rehome em asap! I haven't had any form of reptile since my Leopard Gecko I had as a kid, but I have done research and watch people like SerpaDesign and had pretty solid information on how to care for these little guys

Something I will note is I had NO idea in what condition the geckos or their enclosures were in, mind you I got two, a male & female, they were in seperate tanks but pretty much in the same condition [I also wasn't told they were missing their tails]

When I did pick them up I noticed that, for starters these tanks were awful, 20 gallon long tanks by critter cage or something like that, smelled of cigarettes [a basic wipedown revealed just, a disgusting layer of smoke residue all over the tanks] and weren't appropriate for these Geckos whatsoever

I cleaned those tanks best I could and I got the smell out but I was on the hunt for better tanks asap! I luckily landed an actual terrarium and got to work building the male, Teddy, his new bioactive enclosure! It's not the best by all means and I do plan to add more bark and some more twigs and whatnot but it's FARR better compared to what he came to me in!

As for the female, she came to me unnamed but I named her Ivy and I'm almost there in terms of her new tank as well! I made sure to buy enough supplies in bulk for both of them and spent quite a lot to get to where they are now!

While their journey was rough, I'm glad I'm able to give them a new home! Again please note this is my first ever attempt at making a Gecko tank, so any advice or tips are appreciated! I'm always looking to make more improvements as I go : ]

Photo of Teddy at the last slide!

DNA TEST RESULTS
I was finally able to get my 2 conures DNA tested and as it turns out, I was right, they're both boys!!!
Nice to know finally after all these years! Plus I don't have to expect random eggs now LOL
Hello everyone, I need help with a fledgling pigeon I recently rescued
It's a standard rock dove/pigeon and he's about 25-28 days old according to a friend of mine
My main concern is in terms of eating, I gave him a small bowl of pigeon mix seeds with some warm water to soften the seeds but, I'm worried he's not eating much if at all, but drinks almost the entire small water dish??
I'm not sure what to do or how to make sure he's alright! He is pretty scared of touch still but is slowly warming up but I don't wanna force feed to not stress him out too much
He's alright looking otherwise, clean, no mites and overall good but I'm just worried about him generally
If anyone has any advice on what I should do please let me know, or send me a dm! : ]
Cheers
So for context, these 2 have never interacted at all besides hearing each other for months now
Kiwi, the yellow & green one, went into Teal's cage and this happened outta nowhere, and yes I did seperate them immediately after recording this short clip!
I was actually planning to house these 2 alongside Kiwi's sister & another budgie I recently inherented [once she's healed], all in one larger flight cage than what they have rn! They have flight cages currently but for all 4 I'd need something like what my conures have
They all share the same bird room but just different cages currently
TLDR this was their first face to face interaction and it's making me worry that they're not going to be compatible cage mates in the future? Not sure if this was normal or what exactly
Yesterday I picked up a Dragonfruit from a grocery store so I could give it a go for the first time and with a Google search I learned that it's safe for Conures!
Presto here gave it a nibble and he seemed to actually enjoy it quite a bit! We're gonna try Kiwi next and see how that goes : ]
Hello everyone! I'm wondering if there's anyone here who can give me a good basic rundown on how to create a good bioactive enclosure for a Bahaman/Brown Anole?
I used to see these little guys every time going to Cuba and didn't know till recently that you can have them as pets! They're super cute! I did do a little bit of digging around but I wanted to ask here since there's probably people who know more than what I found lol
Here's what I found so far about their care:
- They need a minimum 10 gal tall enclosure for a single individual, bigger is better ofc
- Diet wise they should be fed gut-loaded crickets, small roaches, mealworms & silkworms sprinkled with calcium powder?
- Should be kept solo, especially males
- Should have a basking light of 90 - 95F and 60% - 80% humidity
- Fresh water for drinking in a shallow water dish
- They should have branches, foliage and hiding spots
Now things that I do know generally about bioactive setups is adding cleanup crews like Springtails & Isopods, which I can do if that works for an Anole?
I'm also unsure in terms of what the best substrate would be for their tank or what plants are safe to be used in their environment?
I would ideally love to recreate their natural habitat as best as I can on a slight budget but also wanna make sure I do everything correctly so they can thrive!
If anyone has any tips/suggestions for their care, please do let me know in the comments or in DMs!
Cheers! :D
