Kind of heard about the New York Wasian meeting because there they feel that being Wasian makes it tough to fit in but in California we don’t really have that since I think here they’re fully accepted

It was from an OOTL post but apparently in New York it was said that the reason it exists is because Wasians/hapas in general there feel like their own group who can’t fit in yet in California where I am I feel like it is the opposite where Wasians/hapas in general are accepted as members of both communities and are seen as popular and beloved. I’m just wondering how true this is because I did live in OC where Asians in general are richer and more prominent so perhaps this skews my view on why this is the case.

FA and US Soccer seek more control from Fifa over Women’s World Cups

Reposted due to a crosspost being removed.

But yeah seeing how 2026 is going, it seems that the USSF and FA are taking matters into their own hands and basically wanting to set things right themselves before we get to 2031 and 2035.

Well what I do mean by this is how you do feel about well student unions that appeal to Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Filipino, etc.

I do like being in VSA since I have been able to meet friends and whatnot and my parents don’t mind and are happy that I am involved but they basically do feel that it isn’t really fully getting me to understand Vietnamese culture since we mainly just hang out and the closest we do to a major cultural event is Tet if it is not culture night or something like that.

Just wondering more or less since I do think that despite them more or less appealing to North American diaspora almost exclusively they are still pretty valuable especially for the students who were the only ones in their area of their background.

I basically said I would be dorming since I live in OC and I’m coming in as a grad student. I like the school and the vibe from my visits as it is lively.

Oh yeah this is my first dorming experience.

I know this will vary depending on where you live but when it comes to people mentioning schools at work or bringing it up in conversations which school do you see talked about the least? I'm just curious as I'm about to graduate from CSULB soon.

I think that CSULA is the most forgotten since nobody really brings it up and nobody really mentions it as a place they are from (it's on par with CSUCI in terms of how much nobody mentions it, but the latter is due to how new it is).

Well, given that I am from OC, it does mean that for me CSUDH is considered "close enough" in the same vein as UCI and CSUF so that's why I don't really forget that it exists combined with my best friend going there and the Galaxy playing there.

After the FIFA Congress today the voting for both was moved to the online congress for November 23, 2026.

Basically this is probably due to it being vote by acclimation since there is only one for each.

So we have to wait about six more months for them to confirm what we know.

For 2031 it will be the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Jamaica as hosts

For 2035 it will be England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Both will have 48 teams.

Basically this will be a vote by acclamation presumably since it is online and there is only one bid for 2035 Women's World Cup hosting.

Pretty much was delayed so that they can do it for the vote by acclimation aka they all just say yes to us hosting.

So yeah it seems they are probably going to do the vote by acclimation as they did for 2030 and 2034 for the men.

So for 2031 it will be the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Jamaica.

For 2035 it is the home nations of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland).

It’ll be my nice birthday present as the day after is my birthday so I guess getting to possibly see the USWNT at home for a WWC will be a nice thing I get.

Well even though I think most of us who followed this probably already know we're the hosts of 2031, we pretty much just get a rubber stamp and can celebrate.

I wonder how this will go. I know the Gold Cup sometimes did this kind of hosting so I can only imagine what it will be on a FIFA budget with expectations that each country gets to host one full group (not like Gold Cup where it was one opening match then rest are in the US).
