Save Soil Movement

The Global Save Soil Movement was launched in March 2022 by Sadhguru to further prevent the ongoing rapid topsoil depletion, soil crisis in the near future and the resulting agricultural collapse.

During this he had urged the governments to mandate policies that maintain a minimum of 3% to 6% organic content in topsoil.

The Main Concern

Over 50% of the world's topsoil has been degraded in many regions due to intensive chemical use and drastic reduction of organic input to the Soil.

United Nations agencies have warned that at the current rate of soil degradation there are approximately only 80 to 100 harvests remaining before severe agricultural failure.

Healthy farm soil requires at least 3% to 6% organic content in the topsoil, but the organic content in most of the agricultural lands globally has dropped to below 1%.

The Core Solution:

To urge the governments to make such policies which:

Economically reward the farmers who actively increase organic matter in their soil.

Simplifying carbon credit markets so farmers can benefit financially from soil regeneration.

Market recognition of organic health and nutrient richness of the soil in which the food was grown so that prices of food are based upon them.

Aakash

Among the five elements Aakash is the most Mysterious and yet one of the most powerful.

Sadhguru Says, Aakash (the ether) is the fundamental canvas of all creation which is an intelligence (rather than an empty space).

Also he says,It is improper to call Aakash the fifth element, because it is The Element. All the other four (Elements ) just play upon it.

Sadhguru has suggested to look up at the Empty Space and Bowing Down to it at least Three Times (mentioned below) a day to bring about a significant change in how one experiences life.

The following are the times:

  1. After Sunrise (before the sun crosses a 30-degree angle from the horizon).
  2. Sometime during the day (after the sun crosses 30 degrees).
  3. After Sunset within forty minutes

He has told the significance of doing this simple practice is not about worshipping a God, but rather bowing in Gratitude to the etheric space around us for holding everything (that we are) in place ( for today).

This also helps align one's system with the cosmos and helps harness the cooperation of this cosmic intelligence.Doing these acts Consciously helps shift the focus away from the limits of the human mind and opens up to this higher intelligence.

"Whether this intelligence works for you or against you will determine the nature of your life."Sadhguru

Aligning ones personal energy with this larger intelligence transitions ones life from a state of constant struggle to one of effortless cooperation.

Sadhguru elaborates- If you get the Aakash to co-operate with your life energies, life will happen in magical ways. An intelligence that you have never thought possible will become yours.

Doing Everything Well

" Whatever you do just do it well. -Sadhguru"

In the present world everybody wants to complete a lot of tasks and wants to do all of them very speedily and do them in a minimum possible time so that the tasks can be completed and there can be some time to spare for oneself.

However the truth of life is way way different from this. The truth is that suppose somebody has planned to do a certain work in certain amount of time. Then there is no question that it should be done in the minimum possible time. However the quality of the work also does matter.

Someone starts a work and does it in a manner so that it gets done initially and looks like it has been over however later on, it is found that the work has only been partially completed and then all over again it has to be done which leads to double time expenditure as well as wastage of energy and also leads to uncomfortable feelings having had to do the work all over again.

This is not about one work, there are many such works which require to be repeated if they are not done well in the first instance and the commonest example is of washing utensils at home.

If the utensils are washed speedily most likely some of them would remain unclean and then again they have to be washed.

So,the crux of the matter is whatever we do we must do it well in the first instance rather than doing the same work all over again and again.

This is possible if we work with total involvement.

"Whatever you have to do right now, do it with absolute involvement. Only then will you know the sweetness of what it means to be conscious.-Sadhguru"

Hardship and Suffering

"Hardship is a situation we go through. Suffering is a psychological state we create.-Sadhguru"

Almost all of us have undergone/are undergoing a lot of hardships of in our lives including related to our our study, job, family, relations, monetary. Sadhguru has summed up many facets of our life in these two lines.

Hardship on a day today basis are a regular feature of our life however it is the suffering which is most important which is there along with any Hardship. Hardship related to any subject matter is an external event however suffering is purely psychological state that we ourselves create to the hardship.

Thus, during any hardship if we create suffering - instead of handling the hardship we will have to handle two situations one in terms of the hardship and other in terms of psychological suffering that we are undergoing at that time.

So the best way to handle the hardship is to find an answer as to how to handle the hardship rather than doing the opposite of it in terms of creating psychological suffering  because if we create suffering, the suffering will further complicate the ongoing Hardship (instead of resolving it) and will become an impediment to the improvement or betterment of that particular situation.

Water : The Essence of Life

Human Beings have been drinking water ever since Millennia. However drinking water is not enough. Knowing its Methodology is Very Important.

Water is a "Living" element with intrinsic memory (so it remembers how we have treated it and accordingly it behaves within our system) that is deeply tied to human well-being and consciousness, says Sadhguru. The molecular structure of water changes based on how it is touched, stored and even one's thoughts about water.

Human body is roughly 72% water, so treating the water one consumes with Reverence directly affects how it behaves within our system.

The drinking water should be stored in a metal vessel, preferably copper, brass, or an alloy. Traditionally, water was kept in a clean metal pot overnight. People would place a flower on top, light a lamp, and express a moment of gratitude before drinking it.

Yogic culture advises drinking water that is close to body temperature (between 32°C and 40°C), as consuming very cold or iced water can disrupt the system.

Drink Water only when one is thirsty (Instead of sipping the water continuously throughout the day) and consume enough to quench that thirst with 10% additional amount. Sipping constantly tricks the body into absorbing more water than needed, which can affect sodium levels.

After one feels thirsty one should drink water within 15 to 20 minutes to maximum half an hour.

Further, there is an Urgent need to protect water bodies Like River Ganga Cauvery from depletion and pollution to sustain life on the planet.

Peak of Attention: The Motorbike Rides

Many of us would have experienced the Joy of Riding a Motorbike. However little do we know how much eternally powerful a bike ride is.

Sadhguru, views riding a Motorbike not just as a hobby, but as a moving meditation and a way to demand absolute human attention.

He says,Two wheels "will not allow you to be inattentive even for a moment," arguing that this requires mental keenness which is the key to experiencing profoundness in life.

Rain and You

Every Human Being Appreciates Rain.

However one really wants to know as to why is it that we get so much connected with the rain so easily and and why is it that rain brings us to so much ease.

Sadhguru Describes Rain as a powerful spiritual experience that connects the human body, which is largely water with the elemental forces of nature. Since the human body is over 70% water, getting soaked in the Rain helps a person experience the fundamental "water body" that they are.

He Says, that in immersing oneself in the rain, it helps dissolve the distinction between oneself and the creation. Further, standing in the rain allows one to experience the greatness of creation simply by becoming one with nature.

While rain is a vital blessing, Sadhguru warns that we must not be complacent during wet seasons. He advocates that planting trees and increasing vegetation is the only way to retain the blessings of the monsoon throughout the year.

He emphasizes that devastating floods and calamities are often localized consequences of how we have treated our environment, rather than purely cosmic events.
