My own and my parents Amazon accounts were hacked a few weeks ago and the hacker tried to purchase an item on both accounts. Amazon were pretty good in detecting this and we lost no money however when deleting the unauthorized purchase they have also removed abut 3 weeks of purchase history from both accounts. So things i need to return, repurchase or make a warranty claim on in the future just no longer exist.

Ive talked to online 3 times now 45 minutes a time and despite clearly explaining the problem they just dont get it, its like they speak an alien language or something. each time i spent 45 minutes explaining the problem in a very uncomplicated and straight forward way and then they throw a question like (whats wrong with this order) at me. Ive been close to screaming obscenities at them.

They have eventually passed it onto the fraud team who then send me a nice canned response about keeping your account safe but no mention or restoring my purchases.

I had a similar experience several year ago when the hacker refunded several purchased items somehow. they would not, no matter how much i complained un-refund these items. so if i ever had a problem with one down the line i would be unable to return or make a warranty claim.

Is there some way of talking to a normal thinking person via some secret email addy or phone number before i go mad.

For mischief ive threatened to report every single missing item as an unauthorized purchase to my bank as 'they dont exist' anywhere according to amazon.

Both my laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad X13 Yoga Gen 2) and my Monitor (ZSUS PM14A-2K) support video over usb-c but im buggered if i can get it to work. Is there a nice verbose checklist or similar i can run through to check things like correct drivers are installed and the like because ive run through all the basic stuff.

Ive tried several usb-c data cables one of which is from my usb nvme drive so should have had plenty of bandwidth. Windows 10 is not seeing any monitor connected no matter which of the 2 usb-c i use on the monitor (one has lightning symbol other has monitor symbol) or on the laptop (both have lightning symbol). The monitor and laptop both work via hdmi). The monitor is set to auto detect between hdmi and usb-c.

Its not always a problem but sometimes its on an edge i will see and it looks super cheap and nasty to me. Can i rub it on some high grit sandpaper or something?

I live in a ground floor social housing flat and about 20m away is our bin shed. About 5 days ago and presumably with the hot weather and some carelessly discarded litter the bin shed has been releasing this horrendously strong smell of dry baking cat poo, i honestly cant describe how foul it is. It was terrible to pass but only seemed to have a short range but the last 2 nights it has reached by bedroom window and ofc you have no choice atm but to have them open.

There are 2 flats to my left (and 2 more floors above then ) that are closer and right on top of the bin shed and they have ALL the windows open. I can only assume they have complained already or there is something seriously wrong with their noses.

Is there anyway i could maybe push this as an emergency 24 hour repair or is that a long stretch? My alternative is to wait until Monday now and then several days or weeks until any action is taken IF they even feel they need to wash the bins out or similar.

A number of projects use a hotspot hosted on the ESP that you connect to and then enter your desired wifi details. Sometimes the internal webpage will load on its own on connection but its more normal that you have to manually enter an IP like 4.3.2.1. What causes the webpage to autoload (or not)?

Im mainly asking as im currently playing with new firmware (glow_worm_luciferin) and even tho im connected to the SSID i could not find any internal IP for the setup page. It didnt seem to be documented anywhere and i wondered if theres a way of blindly discovering?

Ive last minute decided to knock up one of these popular plane radar projects for my niece's birthday.

Ive brought an integrated waveshare esp32-s3/1.25" display but the github page calls for a esp32-C3.

Would i be right in thinking i just need to change the display pins in the code to match my hardware and then compile as a generic S3?

I'm a windows user and for years have been using VLC as my Stremio video player mainly because the blacks are washed out on the native stremio player. Obviously VLC has many other tricks up it sleeve, I especially like the volume normalizer.

Have very recently found a fix for the light blacks and am loving not having to manually open VLC all the time. However ive realised that subtitles still do not want to remain disabled and reenable themselves after a day or two of being disabled.

It happens on v4 and the newer v5 beta.

Pretty sure I remember this being a problem on android also.

Will this ever be fixed?

Just bought a 2nd hand bike which is in great condition but the lockout knob on the forks isnt locking out the suspension. On closer inspection when in the locked position it seems to be stopping the fork at about the half way mark when compressed.

The knob seems to click into position at either end when turned but isn't super smooth.

Not sure if related but the wheel isnt sitting central (only off by about 5mm) when placed into the forks squarely.

Any idea whats going on please.

Been shopping about for a looong time now for a new bike, I'm massively fussy AND looking for a good price so its deffinitly time to cast a wider net.

Are there any good online shops or bargain sites i could be trawling?

Im looking to only spend about £500 else ill be too scared to leave it locked up anywhere.

I was looking at my sisters EP-2 Pro today as she wants to reduce the speed in an attempt to make it UK legal.

The computer has the max speed set at 65 (not sure if this was mph or km) but entering the special menu with +- would let us change most values but maximum speed seemed to be locked. (Can i return these changes to defaults btw?)

After some quick mobile googling i come across a post saying that it was locked on newer models but that removing the throttle and using pedal assist only would make it so we only got the legal speed of 15.5mph.

I disconnected the throttle but it didnt seem to make any difference.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
