Playing these again as a dad and now a game designer myself.

I never thought a N64 game could get me so emotionally charged. Recently got a new console on eBay and these games. I wanted to replay these because they had a huge impact on me growing up. Now I’m 3 years into development on my own game, I thought I should get a refresher on a master class of storytelling.

There’s something transcendent about playing this with your child sitting at your lap, leaning in so intrigued. Seeing things with a new set of eyes is such a great experience. I’m 36 and I’ve never felt so young booting these games up.

I’m a fan of turtles so I added this tortoise in my video game

I’m having a small side quest where “Turbo” climbs out of his tank and you can go find him outside. I grew up raising turtles and they have made their way into my game development phase of my life haha.

Just got these on eBay and I had a question

Majoras Mask is an authentic N64 Cart but Ocarina is definitely a rehoused reproduction. I’m going to sell it and buy a legit version for my collection, but I wanted to see how much I should list the non authorized version on eBay. Anyone know more about this stuff?

What is this?

Years back I went to a rope swing/cliff jumping spot at Harrison Bay and took a photo of this abandoned structure along the path to get there. I have no clue what it was for but it was 3 stories deep into the ground and the bottom was completely flooded. It seems like an old industrial facility maybe something hydro electric or dam related. Any ideas what it is?

Thought I was done collecting IMAX film strips until someone listed that wormhole sequence on eBay.

Graveyard & Cairn

I walked over to this Cairn right after I checked out this small graveyard near Hill Haven Farm. I haven’t played in forever but I don’t remember seeing a Cairn in the game before, also it started raining hard right when I walked over to it. Not saying it’s something triggered just spooky.

Which is more likely?

The account of Muhammad splitting the moon in half or the mass resurrection of Jesus Christ including many saints rising from their graves and walking the earth? Textual Evidence is all we have for both. They are below.

Surah Al-Qamar 54.1

“The Hour has drawn near and the moon was split in two.”

(We can see the moon isn’t actually split in two.)

Matthew 27:52-53

and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

(The resurrected Jesus/Saints aren’t around)

Since both these have exactly the same amount of evidence (all textual) which one is more likely and why do you believe one verses the other?

How big of a role does a persons birth geography play when it comes to salvation? Are the people in the Middle East just cursed to fall victim to anything that’s not Christianity or Vice Versa?

The backrooms in my hometown.

This is known as The Village Green. It’s also got a nuclear fallout shelter as its basement.

My locational obsession.

I’ve been super fascinated with this “Kino” or more commonly known as a movie theater. It’s located in a place called Grytviken in South Georgia, it’s an old abandoned whaling outpost now but it’s the inspiration for my entire game. I’ve started recreating buildings from the location and it’s so satisfying. I can’t visit the location but I can create it! The bottom photo is the reference and top is my WIP for the day. I took some liberties on the interior because it looked pretty bland initially. Now comes the coding…

With the drop of all these new UAP videos, I quickly found this clip to be very visually interesting. I have an area at sea in a video game I’m working on and I’ve implemented this exact sighting into the environment as a hidden triggered event.

Full disclosure this is footage from a real UAP video and a recreation of it in my video game titled Cryptica.

My attempt at scanning my 70mm slides.

Captured with BMPCC6K and 100mm lens.

Shot this against my PC monitor with a white backdrop. The resolution is crazy, these are 96mb PNG images. The ship so small in the gargantua shot it’s barely perceivable unless you put your eyes right up against it.

70mm resolution goes hard

Wanted to scan these in digitally today. I ended up setting up my camera with a 100mm lens shooting into my magnetic frames with the PC monitor just set to a white background behind it. Wish they had 70mm slide viewers like the 35mm, so until then this is as good as it gets.

A reclusive cryptid that first emerged from illegal drill sites and mining operations in Antarctica. These creatures emit a bright light, but can go dark and translucent if threatened. They avoid you if you avoid them.
