Anyone in the Milwaukee area looking for their pet bird?

Specifically greenfield. HMU I can give you the address of who has him.
He had a red numbered band on his left foot, he seemed to not be able to fly too well/far so idk if there’s means wings were trimmed? I know nothing about birds ( I’m a tarantula guy) so sorry if these guys don’t even count as parrots. Bi just don’t know what to do in this situation ? Idk. I just really hope he finds his home, I’m sure his owner is worried.

Advice on h. Hottentotta ?

Hi so I’m getting 2nd/3rd instar alligator back scorpion (h. Hottentottas) soon and wanted some care advice? Particularly on substrate/setup. I know it comes from west Africa but that’s so many different countries and ranges so much? And from my understanding in west Africa alone there’s are deserts, Savannahs, grasslands, and tropical rainforests? Also since it’s such a wide range
But I also have read that there are no Hottentotta species in the Sahara so does that completely rule out caring for it as a desert scorp?
I see some put straight sand as substrate and others do more like coco fibre or jungle mix?
If I get no replies I’ll probably just do a 50/50 mix.

Also what’s the perferred kind of hide, like tight stacked rocks/wood or more like a cork round/cave?

I just wanna know any experiences/advice with species :)

Petsmart/Petco might be selling millipedes soon…

I know someone who works at one has told me the unfortunate news that petsmart/petco (they often have the same suppliers so that’s why I lump them together) might start trying to sell millipedes. Idk what species/breed but my guess is giant African cuz they’re the most popular breed. I’m making this post because I think it’s important to just let people know to be prepared because I know a lot of us are gonna feel tempted to “rescue” them. But we can’t, or at least if you’re going to, not at full price.
Again I’m not 100% this is happening this is secondhand info I could be wrong but I thought it was important to post in case it does happen

Found this guy in the plant I just bought, any idea on ID?

Took a vid cuz couldn’t get any in focus pictures. I bought the plant in Wisconsin, USA but I don’t if the plant store bought the plant from somewhere else? He was probably about an inch (2.5cm) long

Got this red prayer plant on clearance, any tips to make it less straggly ? should I just propagate it ?

Got it for $4! Also soil is currently sopping wet so
I’m assuming today was watering day or maybe they water too much.

Already contacted local rehab center, how to make him comfortable until they can get him?

As title says, I contacted my local rehab center, they’re closed till tomorrow morning. I currently have him on paper towels and a critter keeper. He is very vocal and is moving a lot so I think that’s a good sign?

I have a spare heating pad or a spare heat lamp that I could use if anyone thinks he needs it! I don’t know which is better though. I put a thermometer in there and the current temperature is reading at 81°. I don’t know if they need more heat than that though.

I don’t plan on feeding him because sources online say not to, but in case anyone thinks I should, I have nightcrawlers, hornworms, crickets, and more, and small syringes I could use to feed him if anyone thinks it’s necessary?

Also, I did wait over an hour to see if the mama bird would come and get him and it didn’t. Also, I couldn’t reach the nest to put him back in there. There was also more than two nests in that area so I don’t even know which one was his. I also noticed multiple dead birds on the ground so I don’t know if those are his parents or his siblings or it’s just a coincidence.

Do tailless cresties weigh less ones with tails?

I’m mainly just curious if a gecko with a tail weighs significantly different than tailless ones? Or is it barely even a difference ? If you weigh a tailless gecko do you take it having no tail into account?

Just was a random thought I had when weighing all my pets today cuz I don’t own a tailless gecko but was curious? :)
