Why is this script SO fun to write in?!!

I started learning Baybayin alongside modern Tagalog and it has quickly become my favorite thing ever! I can’t figure out why it’s so much more fun to write in than other languages I’ve learned 😅

hilarious bio of an anti I found today 😭

READING IS POLITICAL GUYS BUT HOW DARE YOU READ SOMETHING I PERSONALLY FIND IMMORAL 😡

so progressive 🙄

u/GrumpyMowse — 23 days ago

dunno if this is the right sub to chat about this but yall know when people read something as porn when it’s objectively not 🫩

let’s play a game and see who can guess the book they’re reviewing lol

but yeah I’ve noticed this a lot with antis and anti adjacents where they clutch their pearls over “omg who would fetishize/romanticize/other buzzword this!” and then the thing they’re talking about just…doesn’t do that 😭 like who cares if it does but I feel like they always point their fingers at the ones that are anything but smut novels

and then they get mad at you for liking the book like dude you’re the one that had that thought not me

always found it funny how some antis will talk about being woke but then support censorship

Alchemised is so special to me

It feels strange that a 1000+ page book was what got me out of a three year reading slump, but it really was!

This was the book that made me fall in love with reading again. The day I finished it I woke up at 2 am because I couldn’t stop thinking about it and read until I had to leave for class at 8; finishing all of part 3 in one sitting.

I was at a family reunion the following weekend and I swear that this book was all I could talk about. Senlinyu better thank me because I’m pretty sure I sold it to at least ten people.

It had been so long since a book had actually made me that *excited* to read it. I felt like a little girl again, staying up past her bedtime because she couldn’t get enough reading during the day.

It’s been MONTHS and I feel like I’m never going to get over it 😭 I’ve been reading so many other amazing books but Alchemised is always in the back of my mind.

I guess this is just my life now 🥲

Earrings handmade by my great grandmother

I’m not quite sure of the era, unfortunately. She made jewelry and clothing her whole life, but I was informed that these are older pieces. She passed away in 2013 and her beautiful work is scattered across her family and friends

Favorite “technically nonbinary” characters?

what I mean is that while said character is never assigned the label, they fall somewhere outside of the gender binary, whether that be because of their species or cultural understanding of gender.

with Rocky here, Eridians don’t have distinct sexes or a concept of gender, so therefore he exists outside of humanity’s gender binary.

feel free to share your favorites under this category ☺️

big emotions, big thoughts, thought I’d share on here

I can’t help but feel as if going to a school made up largely of immigrant families makes graduation ceremonies all the more special.

I was at my brother’s ceremony today, and a quote from the valedictorian’s speech really stood out to me:

(paraphrasing because I didn’t manage to capture it on video)

“This is a time where the news and politics make it feel like people who look like us can never make it to this position. When I was younger, my mother used to always tell me ‘Este país es un lugar de oportunidades’; this country is a place of opportunities. For a long time I thought that meant I was wasting mine, that I needed to prove myself in order to be allowed to exist here. But standing here today, I realize; we are the opportunity. We are the generation that proves the world’s narrative about us is wrong”.

The girl who made the speech had an Ivy League acceptance and was a first generation college student; and I can assure you, she was not the only person in her class who could say that. These kids were accepted to colleges all around the country, some the world—and were the first in their families to do so. Some were even the first to graduate high school.

The energy in the ceremony hall was indescribable. From the tissues passed among the graduates to the loudest cheers from families as they walked the stage; the pure joy was infectious.

This ceremony wasn’t just a celebration of the students graduating high school; it was a celebration of them beating the odds, of persevering when their lives were at risk, of making their families proud.

Congratulations, Class of 2026, go prove them all wrong, and know that I’m proud of you too 💕
