I always feel so misunderstood, and I wish people would give me the grace I give them.

This is a VERY long rant. I hope it is coherent. My thought flow is not very organized in this post so I apologize in advance. I havent been sleeping and my mind is in a tizzy.

Mother in law got piss drunk and high as fuck tonight. tested me on a lot. She questioned why my interactions are so "analytical", why I'm so in my head, whether I was being genuine or not. She accused me of wanting to manipulate her and calculating my plan to take advantage of her. She likes me, she was so blacked out and talking nonsense. Shes been wronged before, so I understand why she would have her doubts. It is reasonable, to an extent. But it still hurts that she would even believe for a second that I'm that kind of person. (Im also diagnosed autistic as fuck and so is my mother, so that doesnt help)

Problem is, I know I can come off that way to people who dont know me well enough. It's not that I'm manipulative at all. I have no bad faith intentions. Its because I like to "sit on the fence", so to speak. I try to be conscious of all perspectives on life. I like to take all of those perspectives and weigh them out to come to the most rational and objective conclusion. Which varies wildly depending on the situation. Unfortunately for me, this looks like I'm people pleasing and appeasing others with ill intent. In reality, I simply value having an open mind. I am constantly adapting, as are my beliefs, and I try to give everybody's point of view a fair chance. Just as I would like others to do for me. I equate objectivity with honesty and integrity. I may change my skin to best fit who I am interacting with, but it makes perfect sense to me, because I value the harmony of my interpersonal relationships. I think that is logically the best way to get on in society.

I'm not saying any of this like I'm superior for it. I'm not a "facts over feelings" kind of person. I think it is ridiculous to move as though one is better than the other, or that they are mutually exclusive. Thinking and feeling both have their own good purposes in life. I definitely have feelings. My problem is how awful I am at recognizing, understanding, and expressing them. I think people pick up on that and assume I am inauthentic and disingenuous. I seem aloof because I'm not good at expressing myself!! Not because I'm a master manipulator who wants to pull all the strings! I honestly, truly want whats good for everyone in my life and am always looking out for my loved ones best interests.

She also challenged my inclination to be impulsive. What others dont understand is, what seems impulsive and rash to them, is usually a well thought over decision on my part. I may act mostly on gut instinct, but it comes from a subconscious web of information and innate pattern recognition. I do not do anything without considering the most favorable outcomes and possible negative consequences. My choices just dont make sense to some people because they cant see the inner thought processes behind them. And when I try to explain, I get called "defensive". Even when I am not reacting emotionally. I don't think I am a defensive person? I'm just trying to explain my logic in a way that makes sense to others. I do my best to not get upset when my motives are challenged. I just think I would be doing people a disservice by not explaining my reasoning when they call it into question. Defensive has a negative connotation that I do not think aligns with who I really am. If I realize I'm in the wrong, or somebody has a better point, I have no shame in admitting it. But if somebody is questioning my judgement when I know I'm doing whats right, of course I'm going to explain the logic behind it!

And It's not that I always need to be RIGHT, it's that I don't want to live and think "wrong". I consider this a weakness of mine. How I see things (my mental framework) is constantly changing. Which can be both good and bad. My sense of self and morality are subject to turbulence as a result. I am always trying to grow further and further from what I conclude is "wrong" or objectively maladaptive to my situation. Mentally. Physically........ I need to work on holding myself accountable there. I can tweak my belief systems all day, but I cant commit to improving my physical routine to save my fucking life.

All I want is for people to understand the way i tick. Because I am pretty keen on understanding other people's ways of thinking and living. Having a well informed understanding of those around me is a social necessity, IMO. In all cases, nuance is important to me.

Socializing and existing in general is so nerve wracking despite that, because I am definitely not aware of my physical surroundings like a lot of other people are. I am overwhelmed with anxiety constantly. My body picks up on things before I do, and it reacts accordingly. Rationalizing my feelings and the nature of the world eases that slightly. Inner reasoning gives me a sense of control over an otherwise unpredictable physical environment. It makes me feel safe and secure. Another weakness of mine. Its why I struggle with addiction, why I am paralyzed with worry and mental fatigue when I wake up each morning. I am prone to enable myself into bad habits and get figuratively stuck, my mind spinning in endless circles. I am extremely adaptable and resourceful, but it comes at the cost of my mental health.

Living in the moment often feels like torture to me. I would rather lock myself away in the figurative prison that is my shit brain. Introspection and intuition are both my greatest gifts and most dire curses.

I know I can be aloof, disorganized, unmotivated, hyperactive, argumentative, not present, addictive, a fencesitter. But we all have our deficiencies, and I try my best not to let mine become anyone else's problem. I just want to vent about this in a place where I think people would understand. Please feel free to comment whatever you think. Id like to see if anyone can relate. Or if there's something I'm missing, could be doing better, if I'm just wrong about something in general. I want healthy discussion. It can be random. It can be critical. It can be supportive. I just want to hear from you all.

Finally started playing today!

I havent had access to my computer in almost three weeks. I bought Look Outside on steam right before I went to inpatient treatment. It was ALL I could think about while I was there!!

Last night I finally felt well enough to play and I am hooked. The game has so much character. So many different ways to handle things, paths to take, endings. The art is beautiful and I am a sucker for turn based combat. The characters themselves are great. I think the developer did a wonderful job of balancing horror and light heartedness. As for the music?? Fucking AMAZING!!

I havent been following a guide and I don't really know what exactly I'm doing, aside from exploring every possible crevice and collecting these planet discs, which I have three of so far. I'm really enjoying wandering around the maps and getting lost in the atmosphere. I love how this game offers so much in terms of replayability. I think I started on the lowest difficulty to get a feel for the mechanics, but I'm super excited to play it again and again until I discover everything! Usually I'm a one and done kind of gal, but when a game has this much potential for new and unique runs, I can't resist learning it inside and out.

Right now I have 11 days left. I've been tearing it up with Dan, Leigh, and Joel (Joel is strong as FUCK for an 8 year old boy!), I'm about to get Lyle (gotta kiss him one more time), Roaches, and Rat Child too! I dont even care if I fuck it up and ruin my first playthrough, because I know I can start fresh and do things differently the next time!

Does anyone have any major tips for starting out? Any soft locks I should know about? Getting the good ending? Finding good items? Or just having fun in general? When I'm not out traversing the apartment building, I like to spend my time completing the video games I get and cooking/crafting. I don't mind spoilers. I already have a bad habit of extensively researching things before I dive in. There are no spoilers that would make me put this game down. It's just so good.

Also I LOVE Dan, Joel, and Lyle. Dan knocked on my door the first day and he really came in clutch. I love verbally abusing my enemies to death on livestream!

Cosmic Meltdown visualizer - Reference to Nic Cage?

The sun in the official visualizer of King Mothership's Cosmic Meltdown is an uncanny match for the greatest actor of all time, Nicolas Cage. What are the implications of this?

Escaped Rehab.

I stayed 8 days at a detox center where they tapered me off suboxone. The detox place was wonderful.

After that, I was sent to the rehab facility.

They mislead me about so much. Said it was a "luxury" rehab with a spa, salon, pool, and barber. There was none of that. Group was 8 hours a day, 6 days a week.

They stuck me in a two bedroom apartment with 3 other girls and had the audacity to ask for RENT. I was never informed of rent until my second day there, and I had to find out from another patient before any clinical staff made me aware. MIND YOU, because of the staff's incompetence, I LOST MY JOB (the best paying job I've ever had) coming there. They said they'd coordinate with my company's HR and never did. By the time I met with my case worker, I'd already "abandoned" and am now unhireable. I figured if they're gonna ask for my entire last paycheck, I might as well just put that money towards a flight ticket home.

So I packed my shit as quickly as possible, purchased my ticket, scheduled my uber to Philadelphia Airport, and left while all the staff and other patients were at group. I woke up one hour after they were supposed to shuttle us to the main facility and NOBODY even checked in on me. I didnt even sign AMA paperwork.

My preferred substance is now banned. And on this journey a lot of unresolved trauma surfaced which needs to be addressed. And its gonna take longer than 4 weeks to do that. So, I'm back home, and have an appointment with my psychiatric APRN/Therapist on Monday. We're going to discuss alternative programs and treatment options. I'm not giving up, I'm just doing something that I believe will work better for me.

I met a lot of great people there and am 13 days clean of opiates. I have a support system. FUCK Legacy Healing in Parsippany. I'm sure it works great for some, but I felt they were very deceitful.

Five catie clones in one room

I took a t break and treated myself to a couple hits off the bong. Is it just that im baked, or did Catie's friends all sound exactly like her??? Please give me the sociological and psychological reason for this behavior. This scene was off putting to me.

I deleted my last post because I don't think I articulated the title well the first time pls be nice

I'm going to rehab tomorrow 🫪

I am so so so nervous. Ive been struggling with opioid dependency on and off (mostly on) for the past 2 years. I got a 7-hydroxymitragynine tablet for free and have been hooked ever since. I started suboxone about a month ago, and even at 20mg it didnt touch my withdrawals. I was supposed to go on a family trip with my mom, but when she stopped by and saw the state I was in, she knew I couldnt go. She called the methadone clinic and they immediately recommended an inpatient program for my situation.

Ive done inpatient stays at mental hospitals, but only for a week and a half each time. This program is at least 30 days. I've never been away from my boyfriend for that long! I am so scared to sleep alone in a bed that's not mine. On top of that, I'm going to be across the country from all of my loved ones! Because my insurance covers it, I'm being flown out to a "luxury" rehab facility in New Jersey. The one saving grace is that I get to keep my phone and other electronics, so I'll be in communication with my friends and family. My bf and I have already planned to call every night when he gets home, and every day a new 90 day fiance comes out we will watch it together on FaceTime. I also call my best friend every night to play Splatoon, so I'm bringing my switch. Hopefully we can still play.

It seems like a very nice place. Aside from keeping electronic devices, there are a lot of other pros and amenities. They told my mother they would get me a house with a pool, they have TVs IN the rooms, yoga, smoothies, dog therapy, a spa, beauty salon, barbershop etc etc SO much stuff. The reviews are great, 4.7 stars for the one I'm going to, their other facility has 4.9 stars. For this aspect I am genuinely excited.

Only thing worrying me is how my (boyfriend's) family will react, navigating the airport alone, and the DETOX. I am terrified of detoxing. Its medically assisted, but to what extent? They may put me in a coma for a few days, they may just give me Tylenol and muscle relaxers. I have no idea what to expect. I've packed a few large book, my sketchbooks, my favorite stuffed animals, my switch, makeup, all my hygiene products, and lots of comfy clothes and pajamas. Anything else yall can think of?

Has anyone here ever been to rehab for 30+ days? What was it like?? Have any of you ever flown across the country for it?? Please tell me your experiences ladies. I feel so alone and scared.

Pleasantly surprised!

Ive been doing scentbird (not a paid promotion) to try out niche and unique fragrances. I have a habit of buying scents that smell way too similar. I completely forgot what I ordered! I wasn't sure about this one but was very interested as the notes are nice and fresh, great for summer. I typically get warmer fall fragrances. This smells amazing! It leans feminine but could for sure be unisex.

Arquiste - A Grove by the Sea. Notes of fig leaves, fleur de sel (flower salt?), extra virgin olive oil, rosemary, and pine. I was worried it would smell way too green, but it is absolutely perfect! Definitely adding this to the list of fragrances I will be buying again. *edited for spelling error

What even is the Miss Nationality pageant???

I thought that whole bit was SO funny. My boyfriend said Natalie looks like the type of person you'd see brandishing a knife and chasing someone with it. I think that is a PERFECT description.

What the hell even was that pageant? It seemed SO goofy and fake to me. They edited the same whistles and background noise onto every walk they showed! Ms Nationality? Their Instagram has 1.87k followers. The website is jank. She is listed on it. But why do I feel like this is just some elaborate inside job setup, paid for by Sharp??? Maybe it's not and I'm just reading into it too much, but seriously. And the fact that she just so happened to win? The gown was no doubt beautiful and the best choice for her, but she looked a mess! Her coach had better makeup than her!

Finally got it!! Im so excited

Obligatory potato picture. I have been researching this game intensively and developed a morbid fascination with it. Been lurking on this subreddit since I discovered it. I got paid today, so I finally bought FUNGER 2! I've read a lot about the characters and am really excited to start!! Luckily even after reading, I still don't know jack shit about the game really, so I didn't spoil too much. I cant decide if I want to play as Olivia or O'saa first! Without knowing a whole lot about the game, those are the two characters I immediately took a liking to. I'm playing Termina because I've heard it is easier to start with. I also have a bad habit of playing game series backwards in general (like Persona).

Comment stuff about this game out of context to confuse me!!! And tell me who your favorite characters are! Tips are appreciated as well!!! I'm ready to die over and over! I'm feeling scared and famished! 🙂

Rant On Catie's Alcoholism

I tried to keep this constructive yet still a little positive! I am beyond tired of seeing the same disgusting insults and awful comments some fans make about Catie every day. This girl just got thrust into the spotlight, is clearly not well, and some of yall think bullying is gonna help her??

She has so much potential to be better. I do see the good in her. I wish this girl could just tap in to her frontal lobe and realize she needs to do better FOR! HER! SELF! Which is a near impossible feat for her to accomplish, if she keeps suffocating her brain with booze at the mere thought of discomfort.

She desperately needs to find a quality healthcare provider. One who will help her come off the bottle, ease her in to medicated treatment, and teach her about quality self regulation and addiction recovery tools. Unfortunately for her, getting help requires admitting she has a serious problem. And THAT'S the easy part. Acknowledging the situation is only the beginning. The biggest hurdle is what happens after establishing treatment. She needs to truly want to stay clean, or she will relapse. IIRC, last episode I saw, she made it perfectly clear she does not want to adjust her lifestyle. She does not love herself enough to stop the partying- yet. And she is hurting everyone who loves and supports her as a result! Not to mention HERSELF 👏 I wish I could fix whatever is causing her to do this with the press of a button 💔

I was raised by a whole family of addicts, who always let me down. As I got older I took a page or two from their playbook and became opioid dependent (on subs officially as of last week and I am so glad to feel stable and alive without being high!). Being the addict myself AND being raised around my abusive addict family "blessed" me with both perspectives. For better or for worse. It's not hard to see who's actually working towards recovery and who wants to be free. VS those with no intent to change at all who're only showing up to treatment cause they got dragged in.

Ultimately I deeply feel for Catie, Josh, her mom, her friends. Her drinking is out of control and I just wish she and other people in the same spot would wake up! Understand that you, your life, your memories, your family are all worth so much more than blacking out on poison every night! 🫶💕 If you don't agree, that's okay! I've definitely been at a point where I did not find beauty in anything but the bottom or a beer can or a little baggie. Years later I am finally starting to appreciate the show that is My Life, for the first time since I was 8 years old!! (So crazy to think, it only took 16 whole years to feel joy again 😅) LIFE changes quickly, do not ruin the rest of your show because the first few seasons sucked!

Sorry for the long rant, I feel very strongly on the subject. I also had the urge to write out all these pent up thoughts before bed! I feel bad for everyone involved in Catie's circus, including her. Still do not approve these weird nasty comments about her. I am also autistic, and I definitely think she is too!

My beloved Zazoo!

I have posted thess photos before, a couple of years ago, on an old account I no longer have access to.

Im thinking about him today and want to share the joyous guineafowl that is my wonderful boy Zazoo.

We had to move, trusted all of our birds with a close family member who keeps chickens and guineas on a very large property. He was let out and ran away, after that he was never seen again.

We hand raised Zazoo with a silkie. We played with him all the time when he was a keet. He grew up to be quite tame. He followed my mother and I around the yard, he'd sit in our laps for scritches on his bald little head. We even let him sleep inside 🤭 he'd roost on our laundry room shelf with his silkie BFF.

I miss Zazoo dearly. I look at these and other pictures of him very often.

Don't worry about the sweater, he only wore it for a few minutes. I put it on for pictures and took it off immediately after.

Does anyone else here have a velcro guinea bird? Or perhaps a chicken that follows you everywhere? I would love to see pictures and read stories of them, to fill the Zazoo shaped hole in my heart ❤️

Dirt Cake Enrichment Trough!

Just wanted to share our latest creation for enrichment! Right now we have a decent, somewhat small sized run for our four ladies. We are planning to expand it soon. In the meantime, we've had to come up with enrichment so they dont get bored in the run. The'yre getting to the age where they start sorting out the pecking order, and we have to keep them in the run while we're not home.

I present to you, the dirt trough cake! We hand pick their favorite grass, weeds, and other various plant matter. We combine that with good dirt, scratch, and other fun snacks for them to find. They go crazy for it! We have to replenish their dirt trough daily, as they really like tearing it up. Its fun to watch them dig and peck through the dirt, seeds, leaves, etc. If anyone is looking for some quick and easy enrichment for their chickies, I would highly recommend making one! Just get a container large enough for them to stand in and dig through, and fill it with dirt and other things your birds will love! It keeps my ladies happy and occupied.

Finally playing Code Veronica!

Some Resident Evil games were before my time, and I thought I could never get used to tank controls. I saw a tip to use the D-pad and it has made playing the older games so much easier! I am finally able to enjoy the classics and I've been getting around just as well as I can with modern controls. Dont let a little learning curve stop you from experiencing a great game! I am loving it so far :)
