I found some plot holes

  1. MAFIA ARC PLOT HOLES

In the mafia's arc, I think roughly episode 28/29 I don't understand something really crucial. I read book 7 a long time ago so I might be missing something.

So we have Mello and the mafia thuds who are able to steal the Death Note from the police. Back to 4 days before, there are 4 notebooks: Misa's notebook (Gelus), Rem's notebook and Light's notebook. And also Ryuk's notebook.

But when L dies, Rem dies and Light steals her notebook without anyone noticing.

Light is using Misa's notebook at that time, while the police has confiscated Light's OG notebook, the one with the rules. (And since we're here, why didn't the police do a forensics analysis on it to find Light's fingerprints and he tampering on it to remove the pages?)

So when Soichiro hands the mafia a Death Note, it's Misa's notebook, attached to Ryuk. So Ryuk has been possessing both Misa and Light because Rem died for almost 5 years.

Question: how is it possible that Jack/ Kal Snydar from the mafia becomes the owner of that Death Note?! So Mello's thug touches the book and becomes owner. But Misa didn't die or give up ownership. She doesn't give up ownership until later when Mikami is introduced. So how is it possible that he became owner just by touching it, and in addition to that, he's not able to see Sidoh the Shinigami despite being the owner? Why is that? I think it'a a plot hole.

I recall there was a rule saying that you cannot manipulate with the Death Note a person with Shinigami Eyes unless you have them, is that correct?

So Light had to use Misa's eyes to get to him. But if Misa had the eyes it means that she never gave up ownership of the Death Note.

This is so confusing.

  1. LIGHT'S FINAL ARC PLOT HOLES

This one angered me because I don't see anyone talking about it.

Question: how was Takada able to act as Kira? How was it possible that Mikami was pretending to kill with the fake Death Note while Takada was the real killer. The rule of the Death Note is clear, you need a name and a face, or just a face if you have the eyes, to kill someone , just a name doesn't work.

The face must be clearly visible or else you won't be able to have a clear image of the person you want to kill. I don't really know how tech was back in 2003 in Japan but I'm pretty sure there was no Whatsapp.

How was Mikami able to kill people he saw and then send the names and the pictures to Takada almost simultaneously so that she could kill them? And plus he had to take a super clear picture to send to her, one where the face is visible. In the subway train, Mikami pretends to kill the rapist but then he takes a picture with his phone and sends it to Takada. The rapist sure didn't agree on taking a selfie with Mikami so he probably took a quick picture with his back. I'm sure it was enough for Mikami to see his name, but not for Takada to see his face.

And also when Takada is kidnapped in the truck, Light asks her to bring as much people to justice and so she calls Mikami and he sends her a list of people on her email. But again, I don't know where tech was but I don't remember phones from 2000 to be able to receive 1GB worthy of pictures of crooks in high resolution on your email inbox to be able to kill at the same exact time that Mikami did.

Also, mobile phone's internet speed was pretty bad. But again, this is Japan and maybe I'm wrong and they were more rich/advantaged.

How did they manage to exchange notes without being noticed? Why didn't Aizawa check the trash can?

  1. NAOMI MISORA

why didn't L investigate further into Naomi Misora's disappearance, before meeting face to face with Light? The receptionist sure has seen Naomi talk to Light. L should've asked Light if he met Shoko Maki/ Naomi Misora. L should've looked at street cameras that day.

L should've noticed Naomi was married to Raye Penbar who was the one in charge of tailing the Yagami and Kitamura's family.

L is Lind L Tailor

L is Lind L Tailor because he said so in the TV broadcast.

And we see in the manga that L changes appearance before and after Kira kills L Tailor. So the L after Lind L Tailor is a fake.

That's why kira cannot kill him because he is not L.

This L we are used to is actually an impersonator his real name is Beyond Birthday.

If Lind L Tailor was alive, the true L, he would've caught Kira in episode 2.

Rip L.

Who is the scariest character?

Who is the scariest character among these?

- Light Yagami

he is the main villain of the show, he has insane charm and charisma and manipulative abilities. However, despite sinister, he doesn't scare me as much as some others. In the Yotsuba arc he's a good guy. Yes, amnesiac Light is still absolutely insufferable and has an ego the size of Jupiter, but he was genuinely a normal and lawful person. He was corrupted by the power of the Death Note. Or, as many theoriest say, he on the contrary was always evil and the notebook just brought out that side of him. In fact, he does really enjoy killing people, and takes pleasure in seeing them suffer before they die (>!Raye Penber, Naomi and Takada's deaths are absolutely fucked up)!< .

He does evil things all the time but he justifies his evil deeds by having a bigger goal, a "noble goal". If I have to find some good in him, it's that his initial ambition was not that bad. Quite relatable, to be honest.

Without the DN, he is just a normal arrogant young man. I'd place him in the cathegory CORRUPTED EVIL.

- Ryuk

Ryuk is a God of Death, he is a supernatural demon and his duty is to kill people. He has no morals at all as he is not even a human being. He is genuinely the scariest character by far. That guy can see your name and lifespan and can kill you anytime, plus he follows you everywhere you go and can teleport, fly, go through walls. The story made him somewhat goofy but objectively...PURE EVIL by nature.

- Teru Mikami

This guy is concerning. I'd place him as the scariest among the human beings.

He doesn't even try to hide his evil nature or be charming like Light does. He is straight up batshit crazy, he's really sadistic and his iconic favourite word, "Delete" has a disturbing meaning. He doesn't want people dead, he wants them deleted. Erased. Like they never existed. His concept of justice is also totally batshit crazy. He judges people either good (deserve to live) or bad (deserve to die) based on something really exaggerated and petty. He wanted to kill lazy, disabled, poor, bystanders people. For him, people who don't actively contribute to society must die, or better, must be deleted from existence. The fact that a man like him is a prosecutor is genuinely concerning.

EXTREMELY EVIL

- Mihael Kheel

Mello doesn't even need a Death Note to do evil things, he joined the American mob at 17 years old because he killed a mafia boss even Kira couldn't kill. This guy is a menace because he has the genius level intelligence like Light, he is cold and strategist, can manipulate powerful people, but he's willing to do the worst atrocities while Light doesn't ruin his perfect and pristine image. While Light had a """noble"""" goal and a greater objective, he does the most evil things out of petty reasons. He really didn't need to join the mafia, kidnap and kill innocent people and blow up buildings. That was so over the top. He only did it because he couldn't accept being ranked #2 at school and he wanted to surpass at all cost an albino guy who barely registered him, he didn't care about justice at all. That makes him really dangerous and scary, a literal criminal mastermind born out of childhood trauma and insecurities. Mello is a blend of Light and L to me. He has L's intelligence and oral fixation and Light's narcissism.I'd place him #3 (so he is even angrier lol) behind Mikami and Ryuk.

CHAOTIC EVIL

- Misa Amane

Misa has the looks of a beautiful angel but the soul of a demon. She kills people in cold blood with completely zero remorse. She is scary because she is completely unpredictable. You'll never know what she will do next, as she has zero regards for human lives, even hers. If you cross her, or better, if you cross Kira, she will kill you 100% and look amazing and cute while doing it.

She was willing to kill her best friend and she was willing to kill someone she (probably) grew fond of for petty reasons. However, Misa holds a special place in my heart. While her actions and behaviours are nowhere to be justifiable, I can't help but feel sympathy for her, because she had the most traumatic life of all the characters and all she even needed was someone who cared and loved her.

Not a Death Note, not Shinigami, not money, not fame. I feel she could have been a good person if only she wasn't so misguided and traumatized.

I'd place her as the last scary.

MISGUIDED EVIL

Honorable mentions: >!Kyosuke Higuchi:!<

This guy is goofy, but he is hella disgusting. His motives are super shallow, he kills not for justice nor for revenge nor for utilitarianism, but merely for corporate greed. He is kinda scary because he is a creep and has no morals too, but he doesn't scare me as much as the others, not even close. He doesn't have the intelligence or the charisma. Just stay away from his company and you'll safe from this guy.

Rem: She is another demon who watches you and follows you everywhere and can kill you anytime. She's obviously scary and creepy looking by her supernatural nature. She is also the smartest Shinigami and she is able to figure out humans' plans somewhat almost correctly, although being limited by her impossibility to understand how humans emotions work.

However, she manages to look way less menacing than Ryuk based on her actions.

What are your thoughts and who are the scariest characters for ya'all?

I love Radiohead. I wish I discovered them sooner

I was a kid when In Rainbows and Hail to the Thief came out and I wish I was old enough to see them in concert because oh boy I think they are the best band I've ever listened too. They are magical and put you in a trance , listening to some songs it's like having a friend hug you and tell you: "yeah buddy I understand you, the world is a dark place and life is meaningless, but I can help you find some beauty in it"

Personally the songs that I love the most are "The Tourist" , "Life in a Glasshouse" "Street Spirit" "Weird Fishes" "Worrywort" "Where I end and you begin" " a wolf at the door" "Morning Bell (kid a)" "you and whose army" "Exit music"

I love how they get into a point where the song gets more frantic and it's like the singer is struggling not to let his emotions get the best of him, the climaxes are awesome.

I discovered them just a couple of years ago and I was never able to see them live. I know it's weird but i'm so sad to have discovered my favourite band so late and lost all their peak era.

Hail to the thief and in rainbows are my favourite albums.

Underrated anime scenes

Alright I'm on a train being bored doing a rewatch of Death Note in subtitles on my iPad and I think there are a few scenes that are beautiful and underrated, especially some ones from the post time skip arc.

- Rem explaining to Misa how to kill a Shinigami. That was such a beautiful and sad scene, combined with that mellow and creepy music. It made me like Rem and I think she's the most interesting Shinigami by far.

Rem was looking for a meaning for her immortal life in a meaningless void. She found it in a human.

Jealous died saving Misa, and Rem witnessed him die and was so fascinated by it she decided she would protect Misa herself. She didn't know and didn't care who Misa was, she just felt she needed to care for that human that was so special for Jealous.

She chose to die for Misa even though she wouldn't have a long lifespan remaining because she wanted to experiment sacrificing a immortal life to save a human. She really wanted to find a meaning for being a Shinigami, a parasite God of Death.

It shows the tragedy and sadness of Shinigami realm, the ethernal purgatory.

- Aizawa stripping down to get into the Police headquarters.

This will never not make me laugh.

- Light meeting Near for the first time. "I'm pleased to meet you at last, L number 2!"

Man, I love this scene so much, it's my favourite after the Mikami deletegasm.

It's really underrated but it's one of the best scenes, everything is ON POINT in this scene: the animation, the sound effects, and amazing music. I love how it's just a simple phone call but it's so cinematic and gets you so HYPED!! Like you know shit is about to get really interesting. It's awesome because yes it's a phone call but we see it as we are from _Light's perspective_ . He is absolutely scared out of his mind and the camera cuts to his eyes with the heart attack sound was so good.

Loved the foreshadowing in Light's thoughts:

"Who is this guy?! This strange feeling...what is it??!" and the imagery of Light being handcufffed to L and the sound effects of chains. Meaning he from this point onward, is chained to L again and they will share the same destiny. As soon as they are handcuffed together, they will share the same fate. Even in death, L will hunt him FOREVER. That's when he knew it wasn't over, but it was a new beginning.

- Sachiko Yagami crying over Soichiro's death.

That scene was so short but so so so heartbreaking. Way more than any other dramatic death scene. That poor woman is the one who suffered the most throughout the whole series and the worst part is that she will never know the truth. Her son is the one who caused Soichiro's death and Sayu's crippling. I feel like the Yagami family's tragedy isn't talked about enough. There are way too many Kira apologists in this sub and I don't really like it.

What Kira did to his own family is just sickening and seeing Sachiko cry and melt down on the kitchen table so helplessly makes me weep. She didn't deserve this, they were never bad people who deserved to suffer. She deserved a better son.

- the SPK members drop dead.

This scene creeped me out for the scene itseld and the implications of this. This scene is SO underrated , even though it has a remake in Relight 2, which contains a trivial mistake that makes me not like it like the OG one.

I like it because it's very violent and disturbing scene but it's animated very elegantly and beautifully and contains a lot of symbolism. (Ahem, Relight)

Near was building a complex dice tower. It was almost complete. He was just about to snatch the notebook away from the Police with his FBI agent.

Until, suddendly, Mello's gangsters come into the picture and take the notebook instead and gain the upper hand. He misplaces the last die, the last piece he missed and the whole tower crumbles down. Meanwhile , the first heart attack of his team is shown. The dice keep falling down as Near's team members die one by one. We see Mello's evil laughing as we see the remaining SPK members desperately scream terrified they are going to be next. Ill Ratt then points a gun to his head and offs himself right in front of Near's eyes and then we see the whole dice tower is completely crumbled down. The Death Note is nowhere to be found and is now in Mello's hands.

Everyone is just in utter shock while the magnificent "Kodoku" plays.

Right after that, Near calmly starts to rebuild the tower, just like he now needs to start again from zero, because almost the whole SPK is wiped out.

By the way, the thought of being in a room with people suddendly dropping dead and one of them offing himself in front of you is a honestly terrifying. I know it was totally in character for him but what Mello did to his rival was messed up.

- Misa

Misa introduction was so damn badass. The message , Kira talking about the eyes. L getting scared. Then this tiny blonde girl appeared and she is revealed to be stronger than Light because she made the eye deal. That's when there was the first major turning point. This is less underrated because it's easily found on YT but it sure gives Misa more agency and shows how smart she can be.

Discussion about an alternative ending where HE wins

So I've seen a lot of fans arguing whether it would have been better to have Kira win at the end, but I've never liked that because I like the story as it is.

Username checks out, by the way.

But now I want to try to discuss about those imaginary alternative finales with y'all now that I'm in hyperfixation mode, along with possible issues.

  1. Light's plan goes to absolute perfection.

Teru Mikami doesn't go to the bank to kill Kiyomi Takada because Light had told him in advance he had a piece of paper hidden.

Mikami goes to the Yellow Box warehouse with the real Death Note and he kills everyone one by one.

As soon as the first one drops dead, probably Near, Mikami would be immediately shot by an agent. Maybe Mikami will die there along with all the others from the SPK and the Task Force, relieving Light of the task of murdering him too.

We would need another couple of episodes.

Then, Light would walk out of Daikoku Wharf like a God of the New World. No police, no SPK hunting him down. No one who holds memory of the Death Note and Shinigami.

Mello and Near are gone. Takada and Mikami are also gone.

Misa forfeited the Death Note and doesn't remember anything. She's no use to him. So he just kills her making her commit suicide by jumping off a bridge.

But, there's one thing that should be taken care of. The Wammy's House.

Light now knows that probably someone from the Wammy's House would try to hunt him down too.

But now, without his allies, he has no choice but to take the Shinigami eye deal.

Or, again, use Roger Ruvie since he knows his name and face to get informations on the orphans in Wammy's House.

So he makes a plan to go on a full genocidal rampage through every single orphan of the Wammy's house in Winchester.

He already had to murder a underage boy who did nothing wrong to ensure his victory anyway, so why would he care about those children dying? They are nothing but annoyance to him.

Issue: Light is cornered into making the shinigami eye deal.

Will he do it to ensure his complete victory?

Sayu Yagami now is the only one alive who knows about the murder notebook. Will she overcome the fact that she was used as a hostage for the Death Note?

Months and years pass by. Kira support grows day by day. Light is still part of the police force, but the police becomes pro kira.

Light gives one notebook back to Ryuk and tells him to send him back to the Shinigami Realm so there's no other Kiras around.

Light tries to convince his mother and Sayu that Kira is good.

They don't because they still mourn Soichiro and also Sayu is still heavily traumatized by Mello's kidnapping. Also, she knows about the notebook she was traded for.

She's undergoing therapy to overcome her trauma, but still she may be a liability.

Light though is able to manipulate her into thinking that Kira is good and the others who try to cath him are evil.

Light keeps executing people from his room, but he doesn't stop at criminals, he also start killing off suspects, lazy people and ultimately people who don't like Kira. Crime rates and wars though don't seem to drop to zero any sooner, even though at the beginning of Kira's reign the wars seemed to be less.

People live in fear of Kira, yes, but also people don't stop committing crimes because of that because evil is in the human nature. Kira supporters aren't all real "fans" of Kira, just like in the SPK escape scene where Near threw money off the window, many humans are just shallow and foolish and they'd go great lengths just for a lowly material prize, either becoming rich or famous, and not because they truly care about a creation of a new world.

Anti-Kira group also form, in the criminal world and in the lawful world, but they are either top secret or they are shut down and hunted. Kira became truly a God, but in the years something starts to change in Light's mental state.

Ryuk is entertained by the continuous usage of the Death Note, but even a God of Death knows that something is going too far. Light is acting like a Shinigami, but he doesn't have the lifespan to do so. He is just a mortal.

Light starts becoming extra paranoid towards everyone and one day considers killing off his family too, who never supported Kira in the beginning and he hates to be reminded of Soichiro.

With no one to challenge him, he also starts to fall into a deep hole of depression.

On fictional.Episode 45, Light and Ryuk have a deep conversation on top of a building about boredom.

Light basically became a human Shinigami.

And so, he became as bored as Ryuk.

He deep down misses the challenges with L, Mello and Near. It's lonely at the top.

Ryuk flies away and decides to write Light's name in the notebook to end the guy's misery.

  1. Kira wins just after L's death.

Rem kills L and Watari then dies. Watari though has no way to delete all L's information and data. Light takes L's place and finds out everything about Watari and Wammy's house. With an excuse to find himself some informations on L, he investigates the Wammy's house and goes along with Misa to Winchester and uses her Shinigami eyes to murder Roger, manipulate him into giving up the L successor program. Then Misa kills young Near and Mello, making them die falling off the window of Wammy's house.

Light has no challenge and so he wins easy as that.

Ryuk gets bored and kills him anyways.

This has to stay, to be honest or else the story wouldn't make sense.

  1. Relight 2 timeline.

When Light instructs Mikami and Takada to murder all the SPK members , he successfully kills ALL the SPK members and he does it in the gory and violent way he planned, so making them all shoot each other in their heads. Mikami is able to see Ill Ratt 's true name with his Shinigami eyes , Light explicitly instructed Mikami to not leave anyone alive so he manipulates Ratt into making a video call with him (let's say video calls are a thing in 2012) and so Mikami is able to kill Near too, in the same way so first Ratt shoots himself in the head, then he grabs Ratt's gun and kills himself too.

That would make one of the most violent deaths and would show that if you dare to go against Kira, you'll face a miserable end.

Then, Mello notices something is wrong because he is not able to contact Halle, not even his spy, anymore, and he goes back to the place where the SPK used to be and notices that no one is there. So he understands that he is the one who needs to take matters into his hands.

He kidnaps Kiyomi Takada to use her as a leverage, but Takada uses the death note scrap and kills him with a heart attack..also, Mikami kills Takada making her burn alive along with Mello's body, so nobody ever finds out about Mello.

Light notices that and is extremely satified with Mikami.

Matt is also killed by Takada's bodyguards.

Mikami and Light now can finally meet. Light tells Mikami that he is the best Kira so far and that he must keep on his execution spree.

He makes him kill the Task Force members too, one by one.

But Mikami's and Light's idea come to clashing because Mikami wants to outright kill anyone who simply opposes Kira or doesn't contribute to society or is not omologated. Like for example disabled people or just people who don't follow blindly the rules. Light instead wants to be loved and worshipped, not feared.

Their clash of ideas one day makes Light want to kill Mikami. And so it goes back to ending 1 where Ryuk one day gets bored and kills him.

I am out of ideas now, tell me what do you think.😁

Tutti mi scivolano via, come l'olio...

Io , a cosa servo?

Question about how honorifics used in Death Note

Currently doing a rewatch in sub and I have a few questions about the speech.

I know basically nothing about Japanese language but I'm really curious to learn something new. The manga I own is 100% translated in my native language with no honorifics so I have no idea how they are in the OG manga.

I'm wondering about how honorifics are used and formal/informal speech.

Light is always referred to as Light-kun but sometimes he is Yagami-kun (By Takada).

Soichiro is Yagami-san most of the time.

Kiyomi Takada is referred to as Takada-sama, and Teru Mikami is Mikami-san.

But I'm quite confused, why are Teru and Kiyomi called by their "surname" or "family name" while Light Yagami is called Light most of the time, same as the other characters such as Misa Amane , and all the others non Japanese characters ?

The Shinigamis, L, Near, Mello are referred to with no honorifics, I guess because they are not from Japan.

Even though Near is the only one who calls Ryuk "Shinigami-san" when he talks to him.

L refers to everyone as -san and Light is the only one he calls -kun, but no one uses honorifics with him and they just call him Ryuzaki.

I also noticed Misa rarely uses honorifics and just calls Light by his first name without saying Light-kun.

So now I'm curious to ask you people how is the formality among death note characters? And also explain me more how honorifics work because i'm curious lol

Especially with non Japanese names

Come iniziare ad allenarsi da zero assoluto?

Ciao a tutti subreddit!

Grazie!

I have some unanswered questions about the Wammy's House

  1. What happens to Wammy's House after >!Light's death? !< Do they keep going on with the successor program? Who's going to succeed >!Near!< If both >!Matt and Mello are dead?!<

  2. Matt has to be the biggest mystery of Death Note so far.

He is never mentioned before and during the >!mafia!< arc, meaning he came into the scene after. He is never mentioned when Mello and Near are introduced as first and second best student of Wammy's House, even though it is revealed that Matt was the THIRD best. If he was the third best, why didn't Roger ask him to join Near in the Kira case instead, given the fact that Mello had just ragequitted?

If he was the third in line to >!succeed L!<... he was someone important.

If he was so intelligent then, why didn't he come up with an >!efficient plan to help Mello?!<

I'm sorry for saying so, i don't want to talk sht about the authors, but this time I feel like this Matt character was such a cop out for the author because he wanted to give Mello some helper but not from the mafia because they were >!all killed.!<

The Wammy's House connection was sloppily and lazily pasted on him later. Poor Matt, he deserved better writing.

  1. What happened to L's family? Why was he nameless until 8 years old? Who doesn't give a name to a kid?

Why is he called L and why does he use his TRUE name as an alias? So this L thing isn't an institution and the L successor program makes no sense, since everyone can be "L".

▲ 21 r/hiking

I think I suck at hiking

I'd love to do hiking when I can but when I go with my friends I notice I suck a lot compared to them. I am super slow because I don't want to get breathless, my knees hurt a lot in steep and rough terrain downhill, I need to pause frequently to drink (or take photos, as I tell them) or else I get lightheaded especially if we are in high altitude with no trees to make shade.

I eat and drink proteic food an energy drinks.

I genuinely want to improve but nothing really changes, while everyone seems to run and treat every hike like a simple flight of stairs.

No one wants to go hike with me for that and I don't want to go either because they make me feel bad for slowing them down.

They have also prejudice on people who use the cable car to skip some elevation gain and reach faster the places where the hike starts, no they want to reach there completely by foot. It's manageable but I arrive as a puddle of sweat and red as a tomato. And when I come down, my joints are a mess and I need to take painkillers and ice.

I just want to enjoy the scenery and see different places but not at the cost of getting stuffed with NSAID to avoid having knee and ankle pain.

Idk I think im starting to hate it wdythink?

I use proper pole technique, i'm not overweight , my BMI is normal, I drink a lot of water (even if I try to slow down to avoid peeing too much) and I keep my backpack lighter than 10% of my body weight.

E poi, i sunken costs mi spaventano.

What would the show be without Yotsuba arc?

Imagine there is no Yotsuba arc in death note, Light and Misa get arrested and Rem kills L immediately, then Soichiro kills himself because he finds out Light is Kira, Light threatens the Task Force to kill them if they don't become his accomplices and then we jump straight into Kira's era where Light, Misa and the police rule the world for years and Light is L and then we will jump into Near and Mello's arc, but this time they will have a super hard time because there is no way for them to find out about the Death Note's existence since there had been no Higuchi.

Aizawa gets tired of this continuous threat on his family and decides to collaborate with Near like in canon does but Light finds out and instructs Misa to make him say false info and then kill him . The police know it's better not to go against Light and decide to cut all ties with the SPK.

This would be extremely different what do you think?

Stupid popular death note takes

Can someone explain why are those takes so popular on the Internet despite being fake, nonsense and stupid?

  1. "Kira's first victim was Light."

Kira is literally "killer" but transposed in Japanese Katakana. The whole story is about Light Yagami who kills people using a notebook. There's no such thing as an external entity named "Kira". This is by far the most unhinged take ever, please just watch/read the actual story first.

  1. The meme L says Light is Kira and everyone doesn't trust him and Near says Light is Kira and everyone says genius.

This take angers me because it's literal fake nonsense. I don't know where this meme came from but I assume it came from someone who didn't watch past 2 episodes of Death Note. L and Near came into the plot at a very different point in the timeline and the story was very different. Not to mention, the availability of proof. So basically, when L was around and he started accusing Light of being Kira, there was no proof and plus he was working with the same Task force he was part of, and Soichiro Yagami was alive and his influence was great. Five years later, when N accuses L/Light to be Kira, they both are in a veeery different position. Light is L and he is leading the Kira investigation and N/Near had actual proof to say that, because (at least in the manga) he makes the task force involuntarily rattle Light out by asking them who saw Lawliet's face and etcetera etcetera. I overexplained something I thought was obvious here.

  1. L and Light were gay

L was 25 years old and Light was 18 years old when they were handcuffed to each other. They were monitored all the time and L knew Light was sus and shady, while Light despised L. The anime made L seem more human and it added those filler scenes with homoerotic feeling, like the feet and the rain, but still in the plot there's nothing that makes those two gay or attracted to each other. Especially, not L!

Heck, even Near and Mello have way more gay chemistry then them, if we have to forcefully add LGBT and romance.

I know it's funny and a very popular headcanon, I create fanfics and meme regularly too, but if you think about it a little more you'd find it very weird both for the age difference and from the situation.

  1. Teru Mikami slipped up

Teru Mikami did nothing wrong. Stop with the Mikami slander. He acted like a perfect Kira servant. It was Light who >!slipped up!<, even if the author intended for Mikami to do it, well the result is that Mikami did everything as Light would do, as his character was introduced, and Light >!fumbled!< because he kept informations to himself. It was Light who decided to >!instruct Takada to kill Mello and then kill Takada himself!< . Mikami was one of the most coherent and well written characters in Death Note, leave him be. He's not the reason >!Light's plan failed at the end.!<

  1. "The world without L is just a word. The world without Light is just dark."

This is so corny, I really want to know where this came from.😂in the nihilistic world of Death Note, each live doesn't matter that much anyways.

  1. Near referred to as a child

Short attention span.

Near is 13 years old when he's first introduced, when >!Roger tells him and Mello that L died.!< And it's 2007 I think?

Then we have a 5 years time jump and we are in 2012. He is 17 years old most of the time. Young asf, yes, but he's not a "child" , even though he's extremely petite and stacks toys. That's just him being autistic-coded and malnourished, it's a quirk doesn't have anything to do with age. I say this because I believe people miss the time skip and it's really a shame.

  1. The show should've ended when >!L died!< because the authors wrote Bakuman where the mangakas were pressured to write more

This is just a fever dream of an affectionate fan who couldn't cope with their favourite character being killed off. The problem is that a lot of people seem to think that. I believe that ending a story halfway would make it cheap and unresolved. What would actually make sense is make Season 1 and Season 2, I would make Season 1 end when >!Higuchi is caught and Light gets his memories back and we are left with the hanging question: will Light kill L? and then make Season 2 start with L's death and the time skip!< explained way more. I firmly believe that people shouldn't try to hallucinate theories out of the tiniest source they got just to feed their delusions. If the story is like this, it's because the authors intended to write it like that.

The Bakuman conspiracy is just nonsense if you ask me, the author explicitly said that he wanted to end it at 108 chapters because of this number symbology in Buddhism.

Plus, Near and Mello in the manga are introduced in the same book where >!L dies. !<Meaning, the story was supposed to be like this. Whoever did the anime adaptation, though, was a huge >!L fan!< and thought it was not worthy to explore the >!successors lore.!<

  1. The """"good guys""""" >!won!< and the "villain" >!lost!< so -> ending bad.

Death Note cast is really particular because there is no one who is completely good or completely evil.

The only characters who seem to be literal good guys are the Japanese policemen Soichiro, Mogi, Aizawa...

Matsuda has his flaws, too. But Soichiro is the one who really represents Justice.

But Light, L, Misa, Mello and Near are all flawed, complex and morally grey to say the least. Placing Near among the good guys means a huge misunderstanding of the character and the story as well. Near and L as well don't care about justice or morality. They just care about winning the game and solving the puzzle and they are willing to use unortodox methods to win. Near had planned to capture Light and have him locked away for life in some basement until he died. L literally wanted to have Light publicy executed.

How are they any close to the stereotypical good people..?

And the ending where >!Light wins!< is something we have already seen in Death Note, when he >!wins to L,!< so why make the readers see this shit all over again to accomplish absolutely nothing?

Edited: it's also important to see >!Light take the position of L.<!

And plus everyone seems to be forgetting about the fact that Ryuk would eventually >!kill!< Light anyways.

  1. Matsuda's theory

I don't think it's true simply because it goes against the Death Note rules and Matsuda should know it. You cannot write someone's name to control him and kill him and then accidentally cause the death of other people. Mikami there was actively trying to kill people with the Death Note. It's just extremely intricate to think about controlling someone's actions to this point. You can control the actions that lead to their death but you can't use that person like a mindless puppet for weeks. Or else we have the Netflix adaptation. Just accept that Mikami's actions that day were completely in character and make actual sense. In the manga, at least.

Escursionismo principianti

Ciao!
