I've fallen in love for "Amsterdam"

Hey I think I might have found Coldplay's best song ever.

I might be a overly sensitive person, but I started to cry as the verse " You can say what you mean; But it won't change a thing; I'm sick of the secrets.

Stood on the edge, tied to the noose;

You came along and you cut me loose. "

And I can't listen to it without getting emotional, but still I love the song structure that begins mellow and soft and then builds in a cinematic crescendo at the end.

I don't know what it is about really, if someone can tell me, but I feel the lines about feeling completely in despair and at the verge of suicide until something or someone comes to save you really hit home. And I don't think about suicide in a literal meaning, I just think of it like "Giving up" or "Feeling trapped".

I wish they went down this path musically

Just wanted to share this

I read the C-Kira and A-Kira one shots and...

I have to say that I didn't like them at all.

I'm sorry, but this post is going to be a major rant about them and about some characters.

Sure, it was good to have new material from the franchise.

But after reading the both of them, I felt so sad and disappointed.

The stories are really sad and they don't add anything meaningful. If anything, there are some things that angered me because there were some characters that acted in a way they shouldn't and some that were completely useless and had no business being there.

The A-Kira story especially angered me. It was so, so unfair on so many levels.

I liked Minoru Tanaka and he didn't deserve to die at all.

This Shinigami realm had become a real joke with Ryuk always causing mayhem for apples and the Shinigami King is a real d*ck.

Minoru did nothing remotely as evil as Light did. I liked that so much because that's what I would do if I got that cursed book in my hands: not use it but sell it or make others pay me to not use it. All without taking lives and thus not taking responsibilities. That was so clever😬 I liked him a lot :(

I don't want to be a hater, really, I'm just so disappointed and I feel like it was a wasted potential. It was getting interesting with Trump and everything. I get it's a short story but the ending made me really sad. It's true that he instructed Ryuk to never contact him again and that Ryuk doesn't care at all about humans. But this death makes no sense. JUSTICE FOR MINORU.

Minoru was so hot, too! I love curly hair.

The C-Kira story was...bittersweet. The task force, I still don't get how they are still working in law enforcement even after they caused Light's death (and there are proof that he was shot).

There was too much Light glazing for my tastes.

Then the ending. This Kira just...offed himself after being called out. Just like that. We don't even get to see him or her once. Too much SPK and Police and no Kira at all.

And speaking about Near...

I didn't like at all the inclusion of L, aka Near, to do basically nothing at all in these stories. What was the point? Yeah, cool design and everything, but why include him if he isn't going to do anything? Why didn't he investigate like L did? I guess by seeing how he is portrayed in both C-Kira and A-Kira I have to say that guy needs therapy ASAP.

It was nerve wrecking to see him try to force himself to act like Lawliet would do in the C-Kira, to the point of splitting and dissociation, like he has to manipulate himself into thinking like L, like he's not allowed to be his own person anymore, which is genuintely horrifying. He even glazes Light JUST BECAUSE L USED TO RESPECT HIM Oh my Kami I was shocked when I read that panel.

He also keeps on carrying the L and Mello fingerpuppets on him, meaning he will never feel "whole" because they are dead, kinda confirming the fact that he's only a half of L. Damn, this was sad :(

And then they double down on him in the A-Kira because, he just gives up completely.

Wow, this is either a depiction of massive autistic burnout or a masterclass in how to ruin a character. Next One Shot I'll expect him writing his own name on the Death Note to get it over with and finally meet his idol *L* in the afterlife.

Since I don't want to be a total hater, I'd say that his adult design was cool, though. He looks so fine, both delicate and badass. Wish the character was better in those One Shots he had great potential in the manga, especially with the speech he and Light gave aboht justice in the finale, hmm totally wasted.

What about Ryuk? I am getting tired of him venting into the human world causing chaos. I wanted to see a One Shot taking place in the Shinigami world or to see Light's backstory.

This is how I feel about the C-Kira and A-Kira.

Why did Mello

I don't understand why did Mello have to die.

I don't understand his death. He could and should have lived and defeated Kira alongside with his friend-enemy Near.

I'm not even talking about how the anime did Mello dirty by removing the whole mafia arc and the collaboration with Near through Halle Lidner.

I'm talking about WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE in such a cruel manner, burned to ashes along with Kiyomi Takada? That's messed up.

I have a theory on the fact that Mello used the Death Note to kill people, so because Ryuk stated that everyone who used the Death Note among humans was destined to a miserable fate, that'a why he had to die as well as all the other Death Note users.

This is the only explanation I can give to his death. But it seems so unreasonable apart from that. He could've avoided to show his face to Takada. He knew she was dangerous, just by the way that her collaborators killed Matt and that she was Kira's spokesperson.

MELLO could have lived so that Takada would have no way to contact Mikami and Light.

The latter would've been in a lot more trouble.

Mello would have found Takada's pieces of Death Note eventually because Mikami would've killed her.

It would have been amazing to see Mello in the warehouse meeting entering at last maybe holding Mikami hostage and making him confess.

And then Mello and Near finally meeting at the same destination.😁

Both my badass prodigies deserved to see Kira lose...

(However, logically Mello in the same room as the Police and the SPK wouldn't end so well....😅)

I'm down bad for Radiohead

I think I've fallen in the Radiohead rabbit hole, I consume their music and also music from The Smile and Thom Yorke solo projects everyday and I wish I was born earlier so I could have experienced OKC or Kid A back when it was released.

*After years of waiting* I've finally found them, the band the speaks to me, the music that can touch my soul on a deeper level, the artists that are the most relatable to me.

I love how they are practically geniuses yet they are never seen flauting or being arrogant a***les, they dress simply on stage and they are never naked and ripped, they look like simple guys even though they are millionaires.

I also love Thom and Jonny so much, they are SO neurodivergent coded. They look like aliens from the planet Telex that came here on Earth as a mistake at first but then decided to give us a taste of their own world using their medium, music. That's how I feel about songs like Worrywort, Kinetic, Like Spinning Plates, The Gloaming, practically all Kid A.

Really, I couldn't believe this was hiding behind "Creep".

So, since I'm so down bad for them, what do you suggest about other artists like them? Do you have any music suggestions?

What is CQS and how to increase it ?

I am trying to be as active as I can in the communities I like, and I obtained positive karma from comments and posts, but still I can't get my CQS to move from "Low". I also have verified my account with email and phone number.

What should I do?

My posts always get filtered by mods and my comments are collapsed and in the back even though I have good karma.

This is my second account, I have another that I use to talk about more controversial topics and I use it as a lightning rod for an eventual ban

Scenes I didn't understand + a genuine question

- The drawer trap in Light's room. The one with the gasoline bag, the circuit etc. And also all his secret tools like the watch and the voice moduler.

How did he manage to build them without his father knowing and getting suspicious?

- Raye Penbar on the train doing whatever Light asked of him and dying exactly when he planned..was he manipulated by the Death Note from the beginning to do that? Or did Light write his name at the end?

- Raye Penbar dying on the train platform and nobody sees him or rescues him

- L at Light's University. So did L manage to fake being a student for a whole year just to tail Light?

- Misa asking Rem how to kill a Shinigami, learning about Gelus and then still wanting to kill a Shinigami..Just...why?? Poor Rem.. Plot device to "let us know" something?

- The Yotsuba being a super powerful and loaded company but Matsuda is able to infiltrate just by sneaking by, and he becomes yellow to be able to hear what they are talking about. I swear when I first watched it I thought Matsuda was developing magical powers to hear through walls.

- Near asking Rester to come back to New York and escort him in Japan, risking to hinder the investigation and to go off budget. (I guess after they threw all their money off the window the SPK has a strict budget😂)

Is it because he has the phobia of flying? Is it because he's still underage?

Didn't understand this little subplot

- Light cuddling with Misa while she's almost naked. Did this scene imply they had sex? Light seems pretty ace to me.

- Sidoh wanting his notebook back after 5 years. 5 years???! I mean...why didn't you notice way earlier..

- Kira cultists still going strong on Sakura TV after they all die one by one. Why did they still support Kira after that?

- The whole Takada and Misa scene. I didn't get it. Please someone explain why it was added because I thought Takada would kill Misa or Halle or both but none of this happened.

Question:

For you it would be possible for a person who writes in the Death Note to manipulate themselves? Maybe someone is sui*idal and writes: " Does x y and z and then dies without suffering during sleep" could it work? Would your body feel controlled?

Thoughts about the aftermath of the finale

I'm trying to figure out what could have happened *right* after the Yellow Box encounter.

Teru Mikami gets arrested and interrogated. He most likely tells the police about the notebook transfer and that he thought Light was God. He had nothing to lose, at this point. And he already had been disowned by Light, so he doesn't have to protect him.

Near and Aizawa for a brief moment gain ownership of their notebooks. Near decides to burn Mikami's (real) notebook down and Ryuk takes his own with him.

Teru Mikami loses ownership and loses ALL his memories.

He finds himself in jail without memories of why he's there. He finds himself with prisoners and he doesn't understand why he's there.

He, a prosecutor, finds extreme shame to be there. Without any of his memories, he didn't remember God choosing him, so the deep pain takes over him and he kills himself in prison.

The police and the SPK agree to not tell Sachiko Yagami that Light was Kira. They tell her that Light died as a hero trying to find Kira.

The same they tell Misa Amane.

She is deeply heartbroken and retires from acting career.

She can't make sense of her loss, to her Light was a guy she deeply fell in love with without remembeing why. Misa is very troubled: she loved Light, but she also deeply loved Kira.

But now, she was told Kira killed her Light.

She can't make sense of it and becomes depressed until she unalives herself the next year, jumping off a building. She really can't live without Light.

Everyone that was there at the Yellow Box got traumatized and need some time to process it all. The SPK disbands and the Task Force just avoid talking to each other for weeks.

Halle Lidner confirms to Near that Mello and Matt had died.

Near most likely contacts the Wammy's House to let them know.

He then takes up the role of L and Roger Ruvie takes up the role of Watari.

Matsuda is deeply traumatized , most likley the one who suffers the most, and loses his spark. He most likely stays home trying to process what he did.

He killed Light, his long time friend. Light had betrayed him. Processing that he had gunned down Kira is hard.

R.I.P. Soichiro Yagami, the police will always remember him as a hero.

My personal opinions after reading the manga and watched the anime

- I don't know if it has been discussed before, but I believe the manga is far superior than the anime.

Don't get me wrong, the anime is still great, especially in the part before chapter 26.

The soundtrack and the slower pacing for me is what makes it magical.

But I think the anime, unlikely on what happened to other mangas like for example Bleach, doesn't contain filler, but it cuts content from the manga! I didn't like this choice at all, they ruined the show for me because it was so great and I wanted to see my favourite arc animated. (N and M vs Light as L).

I don't understand why they wasted an entire chapter for a recap (26) while it could have been a great opportunity to introduce Near and Mello properly.

They felt as hollow characters and the whole plot was extremely rushed and complicated to follow. Notebook ownership changes, mafia, hijacked planes,FBI, missiles, people burning alive, people spying and following each other with wires , bugs and microphones all the time, switcheroo of notebooks, it's all way more complicated than the first half, paradoxically I think the anime should've dedicated more chapters to this part!

Chapter 78 of the manga and many others highlights my badass Wammy's House boys amazing teamwork. Part that they CUT entirely from the anime. And makes it feel like they "guessed" who Kira was. Nah, it was just because they both used each other's strenghts to advance in the case, just that the anime doesn't show those chapter at all🤣

- To me, the only theme of this story is boredom, all the debates about morality and justice are coming AFTER.

Ryuk was a bored immortal God of Death, he needed to do something really deranged to be able to feel something.

Light Yagami was a bored top tier student, he was privileged, he had it all and he didn't have to worry about anything. All this perfection bored him. He needed to do something really deranged to be able to feel something.

Light and Ryuk's meeting just came in handy, they were both bored and looking for a thrill. That's also why Light purposefully tangles himself in the mess of the Kira case. Had he only killed a few powerful politicians all over the world, and then stopped it, nobody would have never even suspected that "Kira" existed and no need for L's involvement.

The issue is that Light is a narcissist, so he sees himself way above than he truly is. He's just given the opportunity to BE what he always wanted: worshipped as a God and be validated in his own God complex.

It is just a random event that he picked up the notebook, yet he interprets it like he was "the chosen one".

He then descends into madness as soon as he writes the second name and starts his delusion when he's called "Kira" by the world. That's validation to him.

But at the end, what is he? Just a human who happened to cross paths with a Shinigami.

Ryuk as promised writes his name down in the Death Note he picked up, and the story ends beautifully. Light was going to prison or dying, who was going to entertain him and buy him apples? So he kills him, because he's bored.

And what happens when Kira is over? The world slowly returns back to how it was. Meaning that Light's "work" was useless, although it ended up costing his life.

So many lives were taken for absolutely nothing to change and for the sake of boredom. That's so cool to me!

- Wammy's House lore seems so interesting yet so underdeveloped. As well as Watari's character.

I wanted to see more of it, was it a secret place? Was it legit? How were there only geniuses? Is it an orphanage or a boarding school? Did L even meet Near and Mello while they grew up there?

Whether L and Near met or not in person changes a lot, because if they truly never met, it's fascinating how they look so similar. It's like a hidden lore where they are related without them knowing.

Would've been cool AF!

Mello and Near and also Matt were so cool and badass, although tragic characters.

- Shinigami need to follow Kira throughout their whole life. So does it mean that when Misa and Light had intimacy together Rem and Ryuk had to watch?
