Leeds United, Antonio Nusa and the Price of Potential

Leeds United, Antonio Nusa and the Price of Potential

Good morning Norway fans 🇳🇴👋🏼

Leeds United fan here acknowledging our big fan base in Norway. I’ve been having trouble with my mental health recently so I started a blog which has been incredibly cathartic. I've mainly been looking into "dream" signings for Leeds this summer.

I’ve followed Antonio Nusa for a few years now and he is genuinely at the top of my “dream” signing list. His goal against the Ivory Coast in the last round was absolutely delicious! I’m not delusional enough to think Leeds will sign him this summer, but I can always dream. Would love to get your thoughts on him ahead of tonight’s big game. Mods: apologies if this isn’t allowed. I read the rules but didn’t see anything preventing this.

Wishing you all luck tonight!

Advice: Police have told my partner I need to leave the home immediately, and that they will remove me. Partner has now ended our relationship. I’m broken.

Hi all,

I’m sorry for troubling you, but I’m all alone and don’t know where to turn to.

I have been with my partner for 9 years now. We recently moved into a new rented house together with her two children in Middlesbrough, England. I am the only father figure in their lives and they refer to me as “Dad”. In February of this year, I lost my position as a teacher for addressing a behavioural concern by myself. A student had been bullying my 12 year old daughter, and I blurred the lines between parent and professional in doing so. I cooperated fully with the investigation, held my hands up, and was dismissed. During the course of the investigation, the deputy head asked leading questions to members of staff which raised concerns about the way that I had spoken to my son some morning’s.

That brings me to last week. My partner received a phone call telling her that she needed to attend the police station. Over the course of several hours, the police repeatedly informed my partner that I would need to leave the house, and that the police would be coming to remove me. She obviously objected to this, but they were insistent. They told her that a third party would have to come and remove my belongings and that I would not be allowed to return. For context: I have never had a run in with the police. I haven’t been served any notice from the police, nor have I received a DAPN/DAPO.

I don’t know of any allegations made against me, nor am I aware of any investigations being conducted by social services etc. My initial understanding, without all the facts, is that they’re concerned about the immediate safety of the children. My partner has now made the decision to end our relationship for fear that the children will be removed from her. I am obviously broken by all of this and don’t really know who or where to turn to. All of my family and friends are living in Ireland so I have no support network over here. I just think it’s so unfair that my relationship, with a woman I’m engaged to and have lived with for 9 years is now coming to an end as a result of external pressure, and I’m not even sure who or where it’s coming from.

I guess what I’m hoping for is to know if there’s any hope of this blowing over in the near future so that I can rekindle the relationship with my partner. Or if this is going to be a long term investigation into the family whereby social services will be around for a few years, and I’ve lost my family as a result? There have been no previous concerns about DA etc other than me shouting at the children when they have misbehaved. I’m just in a black hole at the moment, all alone, and hoping that there’s a future for me and my family.

Leeds United, Christian Pulisic, and The American Dream.

Good morning all,

Leeds United fan here coming in peace 👋🏼 I’ve been having trouble with my mental health recently so I started a blog which has been incredibly cathartic. I've mainly been looking into "dream" signings for Leeds this summer.

I’m really looking forward to the US game tonight having been most impressed by them in the opening round of fixtures. They looked sharp, and electric, and blew Paraguay away. Afterwards, I took a bit of a look at our strained relationship with one another, before doing a deep dive into Christian Pulisic, and just wanted to share my post with all of you. Just the sarcastic opinions of myself 😅 Would love to hear your thoughts on the player, and your chances of victory this year 😊

Best of luck to you all for the tournament.

[Author: Me] The Aura. The Samba. Brazil, Raphinha, and the Return of Football’s Greatest Dream

[Author: Me] Leeds United, Matías Soulé, and the Danger of Dreaming

Good morning all,

Leeds United fan coming in peace 👋🏼 Been having trouble with my mental health recently so I started a blog which has been incredibly cathartic.

I recently took an in-depth look at Matías Soulé as something of a “dream” signing for Leeds. He had a difficult season last year by his standards, struggling through injury. I read that Roma are open to selling him.

I’m interested to hear what Roma fans think of the player.

Best of luck for the forthcoming season. Good to see Roma back in the Champions League!

Leeds United, Christos Tzolis and the Search For Ruthless End Product: The Best Greek Talent of a New Generation?

Good morning all,

Leeds United fan coming in peace 👋🏼 Been having trouble with my mental health recently so I started a blog which has been incredibly cathartic.

I recently took an in-depth look at Christos Tzolis. He once struggled to adapt to the Premier League with Norwich, but now looks like a monster of a player - at least statistically. I was wondering what your thoughts on the player are? Would he survive in the Premier League this time?

Best of luck for the forthcoming season.

[Author: Me] Leeds United and The Mexican Destroyer: Can Santiago Giménez Rediscover His Killer Touch?

Good evening all,

Leeds United fan coming in peace 👋🏼 Been having trouble with my mental health recently so I started a blog which has been incredibly cathartic.

I recently took an in-depth look at Santiago Giménez. He has struggled to adapt at AC Milan, and I was wondering what your thoughts on the player are? He had a very good season for Feyenoord in 2023/24. Good player in the wrong environment? Or a bad player?

Best of luck for the forthcoming season.

[Author: Me] The Future of Leeds United’s Defence: Pace, Power and Aerial Dominance

Tottenham Hotspur have had a bid rejected for Jan Paul van Hecke this morning. Brighton were the club rumoured to have bid for Pascal Struijk last summer. If van Hecke moves to Spurs, will the dominos fall that sees Leeds needing a new left footed CB?

I take a look at El Chadaille Bitshiabu. 6’5. Left-footed. Rapid. And reportedly looking to force a move away from RB Leipzig.

I’ve taken a deep dive into the French giant, and whether Leeds should take the gamble. Because he is definitely a risk. Plus, an ode to Pascal Struijk.

Including all new updated artwork with today’s away kit 💛

Hope you enjoy 😊

[Author: Me] The Dream Is Over: Bayern Munich, Leeds United, Ismael Saibari and the Reality of Modern Football

Good evening all,

Leeds United fan coming in peace 👋🏼 Been having trouble with my mental health recently so I started a blog which has been incredibly cathartic. On Sunday night I took a deep-dive into someone I considered the absolute dream signing. I put the finishing touches to it about 3am, signed off for the night, went to sleep, and after the school run the following morning, saw that he was in advanced discussions with Bayern. Cue: pain.

I don’t want to leave that analysis go to waste so I slapped a Munich shirt on Saibari and got rid of all the introductory fluff about dreams and Champions League nights in LS11. If anyone would like to know what type of player you’re signing, have a read. There is no requirement to subscribe, pay, etc. Everything is free for the love of the game, and for my own head.

You’re signing a monster of a player who I would have loved at Leeds. Best of luck for the forthcoming season.

[Author: Me] Leeds United, Goalkeeper Trauma and the James Trafford Temptation

I’m back with another article, this time on the goalkeeper situation at Leeds this summer - a position that is once again in flux. I take an in-depth look at James Trafford: a goalkeeper already being spoken about as a future England number 1, and the solution to all our problems between the sticks. But is he already too expensive? And does his career justify the fee?

Please feel free to read my article and let me know what you think.

Please note: I haven’t managed to get my hands on a laptop this weekend to change the layout of the blog. If you open the article on mobile, just scroll down. There is no requirement to subscribe 😊

[Author: Me] Because He Was Different. Because He Was Ours. Georginio Rutter and the Romance of a Return

Do football fans romanticise the past too much? Or is that what makes supporting a club special?

I found myself thinking about that while writing this piece on Georgi yesterday - a player who somehow still feels unfinished at Leeds United. Watching old clips & doing a deep dive into his profile brought back a smile to my face.

Probably my favourite article I’ve written so far. Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
