Newbie here that, rightly or wrongly, decided to build a base station at every place that looks useful. Warping into some of them leads to interesting parking for my ship. Apart from the fact that I can’t fly out and have to warp or go somewhere to summon my ship is there any downside with building loads of bases?

If you’ve played over 3,000 hours are you still actively playing Starfield? Are you still finding new things? How many times have you gone through Unity? If you have a lot of hours how much of it is from active play and how much from leaving the game open while you do other things?

I went through Unity for the first time when Free Lanes and Terran Armada were released so I don’t know if all the new dialogue is new to me because I’ve played so long, if it’s new in the game, or if it’s because I’m newly Starborn. It doesn’t matter because I’m finding so many new and interesting things that I’m having a load of fun.

I have this small sofa table, probably a quality reproduction in its time, that I need to clean. Suggestions for restoration would be welcome too although I won’t be attempting that for some time. It was purchased as a lacquered table from an antique shop 80 years ago (I have the receipt) but I can’t see any evidence of lacquer on it. I’m scared to wipe it in case it lifts the surface but hope someone can advise on how to clean it so I can use it for now.

Edit: Forgot to add: I want this clean but it’s important that anything I do doesn’t damage it or cause an issue with restoring it. Big question though: is it able to be restored and, if so, is it something I could attempt or should it go to a professional? Thanks.

Today, after starting a new character, I landed at the Kreet Research Station and scanned a Civilian Outpost just under 1000 meters away & since I had loot from boarding one of the three pirate ships I decided to check it out. As I approached an Ecliptic ship landed and five Ecliptic started attacking the outpost. I used all the ammo in my Eon and ended up running inside while Vasco fought them off. Nek minute, huge roar and the outpost shook, everything went flying and homesteaders started running around screaming for help.

Last time I fought two terrormorphs on Kreet and neither of them could get to me when I stood at the top of stairs. This time the blasted thing was jumping everywhere, going after me while a remaining Ecliptic was blasting away at the homesteaders. Vasco kept going out of action to repair himself and I used the last of my med packs while firing away with my cutter. As you can see in the photo, I got him!

So, now level 3 and every homesteader is dead, I have some automatic weapons but only 30 ammo. No med packs.

&gt;!I do, however, have a power pack and one point in boost. Back to the research station I go but I didn’t go in. I walked around the building and spotted where to jump. I jumped, landed right in front of the pirate captain, persuaded, then found the door from the research building was open. I got the boss chest and found the rest of the building inaccessible (could still go in from the front) so I don’t know if I had safe passage or not.!<

Thus ends the saga of the Kreet Terrormorphs. I didn’t hang around surveying etc this time so didn’t encounter a second one as I did last time.

I’ve hit my first bug with Terran Armada and it’s a good one. I blew up the Terran Enforcer on the right. I watched it explode before it reappeared. At the same time, the Terran Repeater (middle, left) appeared out of nowhere while also at the same time a milliwhale magically appeared on my ship. The Terran Enforcer ghost cannot be selected but is physically there (I tried flying through it to see). The repeater is there but I don’t have any incursions in my mission log. Hopefully, this won’t cause problems.

Gangster by background and dragged up on the mean streets of Neon so, naturally, I fell in with the Crimson Fleet and all my ship names reflect that. Meet the Ark Royal, named after Sir Walter Raleigh’s ship that was instrumental in defeating the Spanish Armada. My Ark Royal is taking on the Terran Armada. The original Ark Royal became a privateering ship so using the name seemed appropriate.

Before Unity my main ship was the Golden Hind, named after the ship of captain Francis Drake, which circumnavigated the world & was involved in lots of privateering.

The others have included Adventure Galley, the ship of the infamous Captain Kidd, Queen Anne’s Revenge the flagship of William (Blackbeard) Teach, the Royal Fortune which was Black Bart’s ship and Stede Bonnet’s ship Revenge.

I will probably have to read more pirate stories if I keep building ships! lol

Obviously, I’m into role playing and I’m curious: do you name your ships and, if so, how do you decide on names?

Has anyone seen this in Canada recently? I know it’s available in the USA and understand it’s occasionally available here but I keep looking (in BC) and haven’t seen it.
