Invited to Preference, but sorority didnt follow up.

I am a junior right now and it is currently 6th week of my semester. I had decided to finally stop being anxious and actually rush this year so I could finally get the opportunity to make some new friends, and get the greek experience I watched a many friends have.

I rushed the two sororities my school actually has, and was invited to preference by one of them. It wasn't my first choice, but I still ended up going. The Event itself was really heartwarming, to be able to hear so many stories, it was truly an emotional event.

however according to what we were all told and what the information given to me. we were supposed to get a form sent to us asking why we want to join and what we like about the sorority.

I never recieved such an email or anything which just felt like another nail in the coffin at this point. You go through the trouble of inviting me to preference, which I had a great time, but then when it comes to the next step.. nothing??

I already had my crashout about not getting any bids for the last 3 weeks, and to make it worse bid day was today aswell. There still is technically a chance for me to get a bid though the coming weeks, but I dont have high hopes.

Is this something normal that can happen? Think it was just an accident? Or maybe me being trans has something to do with it (I really hope not lol)

im just curious what you guys all think, and if there is anything that I can or should do.

Thanks!!

EDIT: Since a few were confused, both of the sororities are COB :)

I Regret Trying to Rush a Sorority

I am a 20 year old Trans girl who has been transitioning since HS, and I am a Junior in college now.

I have always wanted to join Greek life and with the encouragement of my best friend who was once a part of the sorority I was trying to join, I felt like I making good progress towards becoming more feminine and making more friends with some more women.

So I started going to rush events and things were not terrible! I was able to hold some conversation and was actually getting along pretty well with the girls, I felt included. There were some events where I was kinda just alone and didn't really have anyone to talk to but I still made the effort to show up.

Now I was actually invited to preference (which is just you formally saying you really like this sorority and want to join)

This was my last formal introduction and hangout with that sorority and it was super heart touching and I had an actual really good time.

But now bud week came and went and I'm just having to come to terms that despite how much I thought I got along, I just wouldn't be picked and I mostly blame me being trans as the culprit.

It's stupid but discrimination still happens even if I'm 'accepted' so there really is no winning.

I'm just so heartbroken and feel like the weeks of effort I put in has come to this. While I still can technically get a bid my hopes aren't high.

Like I know I shouldn't expect anything, but to me this was more saying that I was finally accepted as a real woman find my peers and would be able to actually make some more friends.

Sorry this is very ranty, I just have a lot on my mind and just kind of wanted somewhere to send my frustration and sadness and get anybody else's experience.

Windows Settings Not Displaying Any Info for Wifi, Sound, Update, About, and more.

I have been going through the weirdest bug I think I have ever seen. Windows Settings has just totally shat the bed and is refusing to work for many of the daily basic functions that I require it for.

For the past 2 months I have not been able to change

  • my audio devices (without going to the old sound settings)
  • Wifi at ALL
  • Windows update information
  • Just now noticed that even the About section doesnt work (and thats what is needed to get some information required to post on this sub)

I have tried to look up what to do or try to like reset the different individual drivers, but all to no avail. I feel like the windows settings is definitely just a front end for deeper settings and such, which explains why im still able to change my sound using the old sound menu, but the fact its not displaying any information like at all or really taking any of my inputs means something has really gone wrong.

PC SPECS

  • Win 11 Home (10.0.22621 Build 22621)
  • B550 Aorus Pro AC
  • Ryzen 9 5900X
  • EVGA 3080TI
  • 32GB GDDR 4 3200mhz ram

Imgur link to all my photos

If you have ANY idea as to what is happening please do let me know, because if I cant get this fixed then Im probably going to just factory reset my pc. and hell maybe swap to a linux distro lol.

Are these glasses good for me?

I have been wearing these glasses for about a year but I wanna make sure I'm wearing glasses that match my face shape and make me look feminine.

I really love the look of big round glasses but I don't think it'll work with my face.

And help is greatly appreciated!!

Also apologize for my rbf It's really bad lol (I mostly blame the tism)

Edit: My friend is Bi and I am Pan

I am a junior in college and have had a friend who used to go to my college, before she switched schools. We would spend every day together and would have a lot of fun just chatting and hanging out.

Now I didn't really feel anything then, but when she got a bf I was a little jealous yk? But we kept being friends and having fun, until I broke up with my ex and suddenly it felt like all of these feelings came out of nowhere.

I just can't get enough of her, I want to constantly talk and hangout. She's also super pretty and just such a funny person, I really think I have fallen for her. It's just now, we are both single, don't really Talk too much while I'm not in school, but I keep finding myself thinking Abt her and how I just want more.

I am yearning but also afraid to mess up the good relationship I have built with her, in the event she doesn't like me.

Just what are some signs and things that I can ask to get a better understanding of what I want and gauge her feelings, if it's even possible.

Thanks!!!

I am a 20 year old trans girl and I recently got back into a few dating apps. All has been well, but this morning I matched with a girl, who I liked and thought was cute!

We got to talking and learned that she was mainly looking for a hookup, fine with me. I am okay with that and would love to hang out!

She had sent like 10 messages atp and then just sent her number saying lets text.

I thought this was a lil sus as scammers usually try to get you off of the platform to like ask for money or something, idk.

So I hit her up with a text and asked Abt it, but just to make sure this wasn't like some number associated with scams or anything, I just googled it.

All the results were clear (this was a one min search) but I saw posts looking for work with her number in Atlanta, so me just being curious and wanting to learn more I asked her Abt it.

This was where I messed up, I told her that I looked up her number, and she was immediately pissed and called me insane and that looking up her number was seriously messed up.

I had meant nothing by it and just had pure intentions, but she just instantly lost all interest and stopped talking.

I tried to save what was left and explained what I meant, but it was no use. She stopped responding and disappeared on the dating app.

[here are the messages ](https://ibb.co/VYJjwJH3))

TL;DR: I reverse searched for a girl's number, brought it up, and that was a huge no-no.
