was a volunteer firefighter for 10 years.
I have since been off the department for 8 years and have been actively avoiding PfAS.
Wondering if,like smoking, the likelihood of cancer and other negative risks go down the longer you spend away from PfAS exposure or is the damage already done and I’m just preventing more?

Had a client who had a new dryer installed I. The closet. It’s deeper than the previous and sticks out further. When pushed all the way back, the door won’t close by around 2 inches. Any easy fixes here that I may be overlooking?

Hey there, went to work today and they had me pulling the rocks out of first before they seed it for grass. About an hour in I had found several pieces or shards of pipe with what looks to be fibrous material in it. Asked the owner if they had an asbestos pipe removed and they mentioned that they believe that’s what the plumber said it was.
I was definitely stirring up dust in that pile for an hour or so on my hands and knees. Is this a significant exposure?
No idea how much dust and friable material comes from destroyed pipe/ what percentages pipe tends to be.

Hey there- was charging boat batteries in my basement and noticed puddles under both of them- they have probably been there for a week on the concrete floor. Just sprinkled baking soda over all of it and it fizzed. Wondering if the fumes from it sitting there or from neutralizing are harmful or would have leached up into the living space above. thanks.
