I’m considering an EV. I live in Toronto with off street parking (in an alley) with no way to charge at home.
I’m seeing on street chargers in my neighbourhood (High park/Junction)
Would love to know your feedback on reliability, speed, and approx cost for level 2 charging.

I posted before about looking for a replacement for my 2019 Mercedes A250 4Matic.
I have the 7 year itch (which is not treatable with DoxyPrep), the price of gas is forever rising (it requires Premium), and the panoramic sunroof is stuck and looks expensive to fix.
The first pic shows my parking situation (Canada). It’s a tight spot, we always get a big dump of snow every winter, so I do want something higher riding with AWD (paired with snow tires of course).
The next two pics show the interior which has cool club with LED lighting at night and nice white/grey/aluminum trim.
I HATE all black interiors, which is the majority of cars on the lot, whether new or used. And I like colour on the exterior too! Red or blue! I also hate all touchscreen controls, hideaway door handles (useless when iced over), plus any tech that is laggy or uses a camera to monitor me. I work in tech and it’s not a good direction.
- I test drove the Lexus UX. Ticked all the boxes, with a hybrid that drinks regular petrol, but it just didn’t wow me. The screens are identical to Toyota. It’s fine if my car ever got totalled and I had to get a replacement.
- Test drove a 2018 Porsche Macan, blue with tan leather. The snob value is awesome, handling and steering felt great, except the engine light came on and I do not want to deal with an aging Porsche. Hard pass. Too wide for my spot (but I would have made it fit with just a little more lube).
- 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio, blue with beige leather. Drove great, ancient tech. Reliability and maintenance concerns are huge.
Next up is a Land Rover Evoque which is actually shorter than my car, or wait a year for the electric Volvo EX40. I think I should wait a bit for the next gen sodium-ion batteries and for Volvo to sort out the tech issues.

I’m shopping for a new car, and almost every single car on the MB lot has black Artico interiors. I don’t want a boring interior! My current Benz has grey leather wth aluminum accents. Am I crazy? All black interiors just don’t do it for me, no matter what the ambient lighting.
I’m shopping my for a new car and I am so turned off from the all-black, cheap piano black, all-screen interiors.
I may be a little biased but I hate all black and boring interiors dominated by a large screen and no buttons.
Which [mainstream and upscale] brands have the best interiors?

It’s my favourite wine and I do miss it. While I fully support boycotting American products, Costco is one of the good ones, right?
I’ve been shopping around for a new car to replace my A250 and realized how unimpressed I am by interiors these days.
It was the interior that wowed me into buying this and it still has character and charm. Not overloaded with screens, I like the ambient lighting with infinite colours, and actual buttons for HVAC and important things.
I test drove the Lexus UX with white seats and it was just nice, rather boring, and a very cheap feeling steering wheel.
Almost every car I see, new or used, has a basic bitch all black interior and cheap plastics and a massive screen.
I don’t want to spend all my time driving in an all black cave worrying about resale value due to stains!
It’s so ridiculous and ends so different from the beginning! I love the rationale for the fight to the death and that brat stealing Francine’s phone just to okay games!
My 2019 A250 is starting to get expensive to maintain.
I have a tiny parking spot, live in Canada, so a short AWD CUV is my best option.
I’m debating between the Mazda CX-50 or the Lexus UX. Any other ideas?
Or is six the max? For a regular car not a semi.
