Could I still be e8?

***Personal schpee***l: I've noticed there are mostly conceptions of 8s being high energy persons with abrasive personalities, one that most would say I'm unlike, and I think there has always been an insecurity that I am weak which later on developed into an interest in bodybuilding and embracing more macho and masculine qualities that I hated due to gender dysphoria (mtf) social anxiety and generally a dislike for sports early on in my younger years - relating a lot more to the nerdy characters in media. This has only somewhat changed and I'm still generally seen as nerdy just with interests in bodybuilding and being rather open to people. This doesn't mean I'm an e8 of course, but I have become curious since. It's more likely I'm a so1 or at least some social subtype, but still.

What's your actual personality and how do people perceive you?

Yes you're an e8 but everyone is different even a little bit. E8s aren't given a good deal being compared to horrible characters but I've met plenty e8s that are chill, how do you compare?

I think I'm INTJ > ISFP, especially since I consider myself a so1.

I wish to be clear about something. The understanding of knowledge, that is how people know something, is founded on the stages of perceptual knowledge and then conceptual or rational or logical knowledge. In short, something that we understand to be true has an experiential and social nature to that. This is my biggest problem with MBTI tests. The way that these tests end up phrasing questions implies that consciousness has a sort of elevated independence from reality. It phrases a lot of questions in terms of internal and the independent when many things if not everything is connected. Not to sound new age or spiritual, but instead I'm saying everything is connected in the sense that our consciousness is not just a product of biology and the mind, but also a product socially.

when there is a question about social norms my perspectives on social norms and social harmony a lot of the time people have to abide by these norms and it's not to say that these higher or cultural ideas should proceed ourselves but simply that certain norms and certain social behaviors and sayings are simple politeness. It shines a certain implication that there is a type of person in the world who disregards these things, and there certainly are, but that's a problem. We experience all sorts of people, in turn we get to know all sorts of individuals independent of typing them, and because of that these people aren't limited by their functions but instead their consciousness and ignorance.

Fe and Fi questions bother me because it implies that there isn't something of a social nature when we talk about ethics or morals or cultural norms It almost sounds like people with dominant effy or FI don't consider other people's opinions and or don't have their own internal set of values that contradict the general environment were populace they find themselves in.

I also believe it undermines other types of typology and can disregard certain types overlapping. Such as the INTJ e1. (A type I suspect myself to be as of currently) E1s repress themselves, guilt washes over them, and they repress their shamed qualities - their anger can be outside themselves and oriented towards their beliefs of a greater good as opposed to the self-indulgent 8. So e1s care a lot about other people, and may have a tendency to be as morally pious as they can be, but they also can believe they are above people for not concerning themselves with morality and goodness. Particularly in my instance.

To be more direct about who I am, I am a Marxist. A communist in other words. My ideals are not my own but instead what I've believed to be true, I don't impose it onto others but only in mental or social combat, otherwise I have no reason to treat people like they are idiots or be vain about my personal beliefs. I believe this is a stereotype for types like INTJ, but I believe this is a more common trait in a type like ESTP particularly e8s. I despise people who talk down to others until someone is trying to attack an idea of mine with a flimsy argument.

I value what I believe in intensely, and it's not of the general population or a popular belief globally or where I am, but I don't think it's an Fi trait. If it were, as the questions imply, I would be much less apologetic or even hesitant to share it. I'm called consistently an honest and open person who tends to share information that for others would be deeply embarrassing, but I don't really have shame when I share my attraction to someone or admitting to a crush or what I would understand is embarrassing especially if I personally think it's funny or would be of note to share.

This would ring Fi for people, but I don't think it's the case for me. I think I would let my emotions guide me if it were, or that my beliefs were founded on moralisms rather than a logic. (Dialectical Materialism)

In regards to Ni, I can't explain it. I don't really know how or why but I believe I experience what many cultures would say are visions, but nothing too intense like of revelations or moses and a burning bush. The phenomenon is where the transmission of information doesn't lead me to something grandiose like in House solving a case but random instances of problem solving. Or even dreams. It just happens and then I move on. I still hit high on Ni because despite being a materialist I always was fascinated by the mystical and spiritual, searching for a capital T Truth. The ultimate reality to solve my problems. I'd say this would be a Dominant Ni and Inferior Se problem. As when I was pushed into a new environment, I was stressed, panicked, had little free time or at least felt I did - becoming an adult was difficult.

This is most of what I can say.

Calorie Deficit advice

I'm completely new to calorie deficit. When I first lost weight about 2 years back I was 190 and it changed to 160 by just eating hardly anything but oranges and drinking coffee all the time. (Don't recommend)

I'm Male, 19, roughly 200 lbs, 5'7, and since trying to lose have been doing daily walks that went from 20 minutes to around an hour or at least 58 minutes.

I first tried to maintain 1500 but realized it's harder if my physical activity demands more from me, so then I took it up a notch to 1800 but I kept fucking that up because I'm so hungry all the time. I count my calories of course but that doesn't mean it stops me from going over that deficit. I usually try to get protein in as well as other people advise, but usually with breakfast foods - oatmeal and eggs mostly. Wtf am I supposed to do?

How do you know you're a so1?

Asking as someone who wants to understand so1s on a more personal level.

I'm the type of friend that is known for having stronger values than other people, being very centered on being morally righteous, and failing to understand pessimistic mindsets. Now due to my sense of patience, humility, and other traits I identified with so9 a lot, but also the reason for being oriented with moral righteousness as a whole also makes me feel as if I could be a so1. I definitely think I'm a so type and I'd definitely say I'm a gut type more than a head or heart type which is why I ask more about so1.

From what I read, so1s are more self-righteous and imposing whereas I'd consider myself trying to be more socially cohesive. But sometimes I find myself understanding and even being compared to characters who happen to be so1. So I ask the questions.

Difference between enneagram 1 and 9?

I am a social instinct as far as I am aware, if not a sexual instinct as I doubt I am a self-preservation. I find that I have moments in my life where I am a 9 (non-confrontational, social anxiety, not wanting to be a bother) and also a 1 (highly critical eldest sibling - most especially in my youth, unapologetic values which I've calmed down about in recent time, and a consistent drive to be a good person)

I believe the last example I've given to what I view as a 1 trait particularly a so1 trait is that I find most people are concerned with everything else but the betterment of their own person. It can become a great disdain towards people and leave me with a sense of alienation and has caused me panic attacks and crisis over my own moral identity because I feared that if everyone around me was never going to seek the good that I would never be able to understand what was good. I still fear this sometimes. However, despite that, I still think I am not necessarily a "perfectionist" and would say that despite many moments on the contrary that I'm an overall non-abrasive and agreeable person.

Wanting better speech. Negative talk vs criticism?

My friend has broken up with a bad boyfriend - at least that is certainly what I'd call a man who never takes her partner's side and uses her for sex. I want to develop better right speech, but I don't want to be dismissive of what she's had to face with him and also seem as if I'm defensive or even indifferent of the situation. She's hurt and that wound should be tended to, but I can't treat what has scarred her like it was nothing. How can I better this?

An amalgamation of the positions I've held in the past year

Stopped being a marxist after being sorta convinced of Third-Worldism? If there was no legitimate work I could do as a first-world American, then why would I do anything? Became an anarcho-egoist - fell into depression, and tried to convert to catholicism before giving up and becoming an anti-revisionist maoist. The Dharmic wheel is there because I've always had somewhat of a bias towards Buddhism ironically.

What's your view on the Kingdom Of Heaven and Revelations?

I would consider myself something of a post-theist and very much an admirer of the Christian faith, but I find that I'm coming to terms with problems I have with the faith that are foundational.

edit: In the sense that what do the terms above actually imply for you and what do they mean for you as a Christian because I know not every Christian is one-to-one. Especially since this is radical Christianity.

I asked this because I find that Jesus taught most of his moral lessons on his belief of the close coming of God's Kingdom - 2000s years later and nothing has happened. So again, what's your perspective?

trendpost - maoist

I want to comment a bit on the alt subculture and say that despite politics being claimed to be important particularly leftist ones - leftist is now such a catch-all phrase to hide behind any actual ideas you have that may not actually be leftist (liberal, A"C"P, so on) so it's just larping unless you specifically listen to the music of a specific subculture which still at large most larp in these communities. I ended up getting into leftist politics because of alt culture.

Looking for advice, how unorthodox are you?

As a marxist, I'm a materialist and religion is another form of oppression by the bourgeois. (modern theocracies, nationalism, you get the idea) I don't believe in reform and I think in a global socialist utopia, religion would be obsolete if not secularized to such an extent it'd be unrecognizable.

But I've been raised Baptist my whole life and been surrounded by protestant aesthetics as well as having gone to OCIA as I was interested in Catholicism in the last year. I'd always been a communist despite this and left due to the ridiculous nature of sexual sin. In a lot of ways I easily became at odds with Christian narratives and what (in the context of the US) many Republicans want now is to remove contraceptives because the veil of the family unit is a front for the protection of private property.

I could go on, but you get the point. I still find myself desiring religion as a whole even though I'm not exactly sure what I desire in specifics. I believe it's the community it provided me with, the (almost unhealthy) optimism, and more. It exists in conflict in me and I'm unaware of how to traverse it.

I'm curious if people have similar experiences, how "unorthodox" they are, and if there's any advice I could be offered?
