I recently received this for about $56 after coupons off the gate. I’ve never seen one in person and wanted to “test drive” one for cheap.

Pro’s: from 10’ away it looks like an LD. It seems to do a reasonable job of replicating the overall look. It has an exhibition case back with a decorated movement and keeps time well so far (2 days in).

Cons: obviously the cyclops isn’t centered and the magnification is way off, but that’s typical of this price point. My biggest complaint is the bracelet. I wasn’t expecting much for the price, but you can’t even open the clasp with your fingernail. Seriously bent my thumb nail back trying to open it. The only way I can get it to open is with a small flat head. You also have to put a lot of pressure to close the clasp. I’ve opened and closed the clasp about 10 times and it’s still giving me the same trouble. The bracelet is also very cheap and jangly feeling, but it’s fine when it’s sized properly to your wrist.

In conclusion, I’m glad I picked it up to experiment with. I could see myself buying one when a good version comes out. It will make a fun work shitter for the rotation. I’m going to play around with the clasp and see if I can make it open and close smoother. I will also likely switch out the cyclops. This will do wonders for the overall appearance.

My first YM, so went cheap to see if I would like the model. I’m impressed! It’s a great rep for under $100.

You don’t see very much content about the iconic AP Royal Oak, particularly in the low-tier space so I thought I would share a quick review.

Just as a side, I have never seen or touched a genuine AP of any kind in person. My experience is only with the AP reps. I’m sure they are night and day next to each other in terms of quality. Feel free to comment on anything I get wrong or any obvious flaws I’m missing.

1. AAA Quartz Royal Oak Chronograph sourced from Lena for $95 plus shipping. I saw it on their telegram and thought it looked impressive for the price. It actually is a solid buy. The dial is quite nice with the exception of the misaligned 12 and the seconds sweep very smooth for a quartz watch of this price range. There is a closed case back as it has a quartz movement. The watch reflects light nicely, but it’s still not too flashy.

2. U1 Royal Oak sourced from Michael Travis for $120 plus shipping. I just sent them a photo of what I wanted to their WhatsApp. This one is very similar quality to the AAA chrono. The U1 does have a better aligned dial, but otherwise I would suggest that they are of the same quality. Since this one is automatic it does have an open case back. This one is thicker than the quartz and thus much thicker than a genuine or NWBIG rep.

My main complaint with these two are the bracelets. They both are very sharp and the spacing between the links are a bit too wide. That and the thickness of the case are the biggest weaknesses I see. I do know that the finishing of a genuine AP is going to be “night and day,” but these budget reps do a decent job for the price in my opinion.

In summary, I don’t regret trying these out. They both exceeded my expectations in quality. Now I will see if my wrist time with them warrants buying a more quality rep. Time will tell.

First of all, this is coming from me personally as a hobbyist/collector. I was not asked to do this or promised anything in return for making this known.

I dealt with Mark on the team via WhatsApp a couple months ago to buy these three U1 watches. I paid PayPal f&f and got tracking several days later. Normal stuff.

Unfortunately after the package arrived at an umi umi facility about 2.5 hours from my address, tracking got stuck there. After a few days I reached out to them and got the automated email saying that the tracking was invalid. I then reached out to Mark and he said to “be patient.”

I was patient for another week or two, but then reached back out to Mark and he offered to ship 3 other watches at no cost to me.

Those watches have arrived and I’m so stoked! I feel like they could have blown me off, but they did right by me and made me feel like a good customer that they want to continue doing business with.

I cannot recommend this group enough. Buy with confidence, they will take care of you!

Caramlized an onion in beef tallow/bacon fat from breakfast, dukes mayo on the buns, assorted melted cheeses, and some gold potato home fries cooked in bacon fat.

Good shit! Love utilizing what’s on hand to eat a good meal.

Can’t decide if it’s too “cheddar” as-is. I know that RGF has a better factory color on these, but I like my ARF platona so giving this a go. The cheese is a little more toned down compared to a GSF day date I have (which doesn’t get wrist time because of that fact).

I have a number of rep watches, but this one tends to be on my wrist more than most. Not sure if the hype skews my opinion, but it’s such an attractive wearable piece. I brought a number of watches with me to my family vacation, but this one is getting the wrist time.

I came up with this “12 + 1” to take with me. Gotta color coordinate you know? I threw a few shitters in the mix to wear on the beach to keep my wrist tan line even.

I took a chance and bought this lightly used from a BST forum and the seller told me it was a VSF. I’ve always seen ZF as the “go-to,” but thought this one looked good and took a shot on it for a SD test drive.

I know it’s not a shitter/U1 so leaning towards believing the seller. The cyclops is a bit off which bothers me, but otherwise it’s pretty decent visually.

The bezel changes the month and the movement feels smooth. I haven’t had a chance to take off the case back, but it weights 154 grams sized to my wrist.

What other decent factories make this watch? What do you think about the quality?

My wife calls the dial “cornflower blue” which is my “signature color,” so at least I have her on board 😂.

Just kidding. Someone just posted this on r/rolex for verification 😆 I think this is the worst one I’ve ever seen and thought some of y’all would get a kick out of it.

Wearing my quartz speedy today and thought it may be fun to share some feedback on these AAA quality Omegas.

My pattern is to initially buy a watch cheap and if I love it and wear it, then buy a high tier rep. All of these were sourced from DHgate using coupons $65-75 a piece.

1. Quartz Speedmaster - visually looks pretty good. The quartz tick is a dead giveaway and the chronos do not all function. Keeps great time as expected. My main complaint is the bracelet quality which is a common theme for the steel Omega shitters.

2. 300m Seamaster - dial blew me away as it has etched waves. Date is centered. Very satisfied with everything but the bracelet. Rubber strap is on order.

3. NTTD Seamaster - for the price I don’t see the point buying the VSF. I think the VSF still has some issues so this one will work. This one is a dead giveaway fake because of the weight, but social distance away is fine. Mesh steel bracelet isn’t my thing, but the NATO works for me.

4. Planet Ocean (older model) - again visually good but the bracelet sucks. Orange rubber strap on the way. Not sure this will get much wrist time as it’s a big boy. Wears super bulky even compared to the 42mm seamasters.

5. Aqua Terra - looks decent. Color is a bit off on the dial from what I can tell, but for $65 it works. I wanted to try this color specifically as it’s so unique compared to other watches in my collection. It’s a fun summer watch. I like the strap on this one.

Ever since hearing about the “youth movement” ARF Daytonas I’ve been on the fence about buying one. Went ahead and pulled the trigger Sunday night and now it’s here!

I was hesitant on picking one up because of the “loud rotor” issues, but it’s actually silent on this one.

Great price point for this level of watch!

Budget meal using some leftover ground chuck from making some chopped cheese sandwiches a couple days ago. So much flavor!! My picky kids tore it up.

Got the mint recently and my 16 year old loves rocking the blue. 41mm is a bit big for his wrist, but he pulls it off.

The mint is VF with 3235 and the blue is U1 with Miyota. I thought it would be cool to do a quick comparison.

On the wrist, the U1 is actually pretty decent looking considering the price (paid $100 during a promo). He tells me he gets compliments fairly often. The biggest differences are the bezel, cyclops, and bracelet quality. In hand the U1 just feels cheap and obviously not genuine.

I have zero complaints on the VF. It’s nearly perfect in my humble opinion. It’s raining right now, but the way the dial and bezel shimmer in the sun is amazing.

I received this GS factory Daydate this week and even though I’ve never been a huge yellow gold guy, it’s growing on me. I’ve heard that ARF has some of the best factory gold colors and it seems they’re slightly more expensive than this GSF. This piece I have has some decent weight at around 180 grams (a bit lighter than gen of course) and visually looks quite stunning.

I’m looking for some feedback and maybe some photos from the community. My personal favorite is the 228236 DD platinum with light blue dial. Anyone have this reference rep and suggestions on factory?

I got super lucky and won this absolutely stunning 41mm VF Datejust from Mr. Lucas. Received just two weeks after sending him my address.

These photos don’t do the watch justice, it looks perfect! This watch was on my short list of new acquisitions since green is my favorite color and VF does not disappoint.

Looks NWBIG to me. I can’t recommend the seller or the quality of this DJ enough. What does everyone else think?
