Need some help/advice

Basically, I am wondering if I could get some insights into my symptoms. I’m 29F, and don’t want to be dismissed because of my age. I know that ALS is rare in people under 40, but it does happen.

Back in Jan/February, I noticed a sharp pain at the bottom of my left foot. It hurt to walk and was especially painful upon waking up. I did some googling, and started taking some supplements (magnesium, vitamin b12, iron) since cramps can be caused by these deficiencies. I also attempted to drink more water, iced the bottom of my foot, and massaged it. The pain didn’t go away, so I went to my primary care doctor in March. She was quite thorough but ultimately unsure of what could be causing these issues. She did blood work (normal), and did a series of tests where I had to walk on toes and heels, balance with my eyes shut, resist her pressure, etc. everything seemed fine, but the pain didn’t go away, so she referred me to a neurologist. The problem is, I had just bought a house in a town 3 hours away and was slowly moving out of my in laws and into my new place, and was on the cusp of transitioning jobs and health insurance. So, I basically repeated the same steps and now have a neurology appointment, but not for another month due to living in a rural area with long referral times.

Since my initial pain in the left foot has started, I’ve developed twitches all over my body (calves, thighs, stomach, feet, upper arm, butt), and these twitches have become especially pronounced over the past two weeks. In addition, my calves have begun cramping, especially my left calf. My left knee often feels like it’s locking or especially stiff. I had a friend comment on my “weird gate” when walking too.

I don’t have foot drop and haven’t noticed any weakness in any parts of my body. I also haven’t tripped or noticed a loss of coordination. I don’t do rigorous exercises that could be causing this cramping. Last night, I walked my dogs (who walk very slowly) for about 15 min on a flat surface and started cramping. But, I am able to walk or jog if need be and not worry about tripping or falling. I also haven’t had any symptoms in my hands (no dropping things, weakness, ect.), or my face/mouth (no slurring words, difficulty swallowing, etc.)

Thanks in advance for your help and reassurance. I obviously don’t want to post in the ALS sub.

Edit: grammar/typos

I am just beyond stressed and feeling beyond anxious

That’s pretty much it.

I got a new job after completing my PhD, and I’m very excited. But, at the same time, I’m incredibly nervous because if it doesn’t go well, I’ve basically wasted most of 20s getting this degree for nothing. And I have no backup plan. I’m scared I won’t be good at my job, and that I’ll fall flat on my face.

I just bought a house. Again, very exciting, and I know. But… I don’t feel excited. I know I should feel excited, but I don’t. Maybe it’s because I don’t feel 100% settled or because I’m now broke or because I’m stressed about other things. But either way, while my wife sits here so excited about the house and my parents excitedly ask for updates, but I’m just not that excited. And I’m starting to feel anxious about not being excited.

I’m also worried about my relationship. My wife has been getting on my nerves. That sounds petty, but I feel like she doesn’t listen to my concerns. For example, she’s a loud person. I like strong personality and her outgoing personality. That said, sometimes it’s just screams at the top of your lungs loud. I try to ask her to take it down a notch because I’m stressed, tired, not in the mood to listen to screaming (which gets the dogs going), etc., and she yells at me for “not liking her personality.” I have also been trying to cut back on my drinking, but (1) my wife doesn’t seem to understand and (2) she’s extra obnoxious when drunk. Tonight, we were going to have a chill game night, which turns into blasting loud music, yelling/screaming, and getting the dogs barking. I have countless examples of petty things, but it’s just all weighing on me. We have been married for two years, and I feel like she’s changed a lot during this short time.

Summary: im worried about my job, anxious about my house (and more anxious bc im not as excited as i should be), and I feel like im getting upset with my wife more and more. Thanks for listening yall

I feel so bad for Callie

Rewatching, and am on S4 E 2. I just feel so bad for Callie. She has her weird moments (ie walking around naked and peeing in front of izzie and mer). But I feel so bad for her. George cheats on her, Meredith, yang, and izzie never welcome her, she is in way over her head as chief resident, and she just described herself as a bad wife.

That’s it, that’s the post. She’s never been favorite or anything, but i genuinely hurt for her in the early seasons.

Does Coors light make anyone else SICK AF

I apologize if not allowed or if this has been discussed, but does anyone else get sick AF from Coors light? Im talking Coors specifically. I can have two or 20 and it’s all the same, I’m going to be sick to my stomach either puking or pooping the next day? I like the taste of Coors, and I just moved to a new city where a local bar about half a mile from my house has $1.50 Coors on tap all day everyday, and another place has Coors buckets for $13.

Last night I went out with my wife and had 4.5 beers over the course of about 4 hours with dinner and 2 bottles of water and am feeling it now. Saturday my in laws were in town. I had two beers with dinner, and spent all Sunday sick. Is it a me thing? Is this a well known issue with Coors?

Question about a bump on my yorkie

I have a 9 lb, 4 YO, female yorkie. She is healthy, takes flea/tick meds, and heart worm. About a month ago, I noticed a small white bump on her back left side toward her butt. I didn’t think anything of it. Our other dog had a similar one on his ear about a year ago, and it went away on its own. Now, when I pet her it’s much more noticeable. Said bump has gotten bigger and turned red, almost looks like a bloody scab. Shes playing fine, eating normally, sleeping normally, not itching too terribly at it (at least when I’m around). She does play with our other dog quite a bit and likes to roll in the grass, which may have irritated it.

Do you think this warrants a trip to the vet?

Thanks!

First pic is the bump. Second pic is her :)

People are really reaching to discredit…

Aubry.

Come on. It’s not like Jonathan played an A game and Aubry an F game.

I’m seeing people ask where the strategy was on her end. Well, did she not drive the Ozzy vote? Joe said yes. Rizo said yes. Ozzy ran his mouth, and Aubry took advantage of it. A lot of players who are the obvious target can’t save themselves. Aubry did. If you want to make the argument it couldn’t have happened without Jonathan, that’s totally fine, but it didn’t happen without Aubry either, and again, per Joe and Rizo, Aubry got them on board.

She also forged good relationships/alliances with a diverse array of people. She worked the middle beautifully, and when they slowly started getting picked off, she didn’t. As Ozzy said, “Jonathan and Joe both said so many times ‘get out the middle get out the middle get out the middle’ and here you are on either side of the middle.” She briefly worked with tiff. She seemed to have a close relationship with joe that was under edited. When she won final immunity, she knew to take Joe, and knew that she needed Jonathon to beat Rizo. She had agency in who she sat next to, which is very important. She also clearly had a pulse on the game. She voted correctly every single vote; Jonathan did not.

She also had much better jury management skills. Tiffany and Dee were never going to vote for Jonathan because of how he treated them. Having multiple people ambush the first juror was not smart, nor was (allegedly) telling tiff he won’t take her to the end because she’s a girl. Fair or not, being likable is part of the game. Not to mention, let’s pretend that we were sitting in ponderosa debating who to vote for. On the one hand, Chrissy, coach, and Stephanie are campaigning hard for someone. On the other hand, cirie is campaigning hard for someone. 9/10 times, you’re going to be swayed by cirie.

“She didn’t win enough challenges.” Go on Hulu and watch “The Challenge” if that’s what you want. Also, Jonathan only won one more than her. Aubry won the most important challenge of the season, and in that moment, the three guys knew they were toast. If we’re using challenges as a metric, Joe deserved to win 48, and Cirie is terrible.

Aubry had a better FTC than Jonathan, and ironically his allies’ terrible campaigns might have been his nail in the coffin. Again, who you align yourself with matters. Aubry’s story that Christian asked for was much more articulate. Jonathan didn’t seem to understand Ozzy’s question. While I thought Jonathan didn’t fine, Aubry was better.

Finally, this is a highly edited show. Survivor is filmed for about 23/24 hours a day for 26 days. We get snippets of nearly a month of island life. This season, we got even less of the players and more weird celebrity cameos. I remember on this reddit, people really thought Sam had a chance to hear Rachel in S47, but the votes weren’t even close. Likewise, a lot of people thought Joe/eva were getting the winners edit only for Kyle to be the clear winner. The edit obviously wants us to think this is going to come down to the wire. This leads me to believe Jonathan got a favorable edit because everyone wanted to take him to the end. Joe, Rizo (who had an all girl alliance last season and tried this season til Dee blew it up), tiff, and Aubry all wanted to be by Jonathan because (rightly or wrongly) he was not perceived as a good player by those on the island. Cirie, who we regard as one of the best ever, said he’s easily manipulated. I didn’t get that impression based on the edit, but I trust her judgement.

Edit to add: enough with the “reverse sexism” and “ironic” comments because of all girl alliances. Aubry didn’t have have an all girl alliance, and worked closely with Devens, Christian, and Joe. Her biggest rival was Gen. that argument doesn’t even apply here. Plus, there have been 50 survivor seasons, 20 of which have been won by women. Yes, new era women have dominated, but it’s not reverse sexism. ironically, those calling out “reverse sexism” in the new era had no problem with the male dominant “old era.” Reverse sexism for guys on the show is an all girl alliance. sexism for women is unwanted groping (Dan Spilo) and being “mistaken” for someone’s wife (Ted Rodgers).

When does student health insurance end?

I just graduated and was wondering when my student health insurance ends. I looked online, and it says Aug 2026, but I’d like to confirm with students. I had a brief period without student health insurance in Jan 2024 and don’t want a repeat of that.

How is this not the conclusion more people are drawing????

As the title says. Not a single vote swung. I’m not impressed.

Edit to add: Jonathan told tiff she was the target because she’s a girl. Awesome jury management strategy. Robbed king /s

Need help identifying if this is a bed bug?

As the title says…

I am moving into my new house this weekend. We just dumped a few items (mattress, a couple suitcases, and some kitchen appliances) into the house while we redo the floor. We had professional cleaners before we moved anything. The only people who have been here are my wife and I, my dad, my in laws, cleaners, and wifi guy. But, my MIL saw this on the wall while walking upstairs. It looks like a bed bug, but we haven’t seen any other bugs, and have looked quite closely. Ive also ripped up carpet, and there’s been no bugs in the carpet. I was hoping that you guys could help identify this. I am praying it’s not a bed bug; it’s the last thing we need rn.

Edit to add: we did stay at a hotel, but we always look for bed bugs as best we can, put suitcases on tables, and avoid staying at total dives. We’ve also never had bed bugs before.

Thanks!

What’s the point of the constant “I hate Rory” posts? She’s a 15-22 year old when we see her. She is a child/young adult who grew up with a teen mom and in a town that coddled her making relatable mistakes, the horror. Unfortunately, people cheat. Unfortunately, people drop out of college. Unfortunately, people don’t handle rejection well.

I get discussing events, thinking about alt story lines, criticizing specific actions, etc., but the general “can’t stand Rory” posts are just… weird. Was she just supposed to be perfect while everyone around her was kooky at best and extremely flawed at worst?

As it goes, “you say you want more complex female characters but can’t even handle Rory Gilmore.”
