Good and Bad Evos/Heroes?

Good and Bad Evos/Heroes?

Which Evos/Heroes are good and which are bad? IMO, Evo Mega Knight is pretty bad. Maybe Supercell was afraid to actually give Evo Mega Knight a buff due to its use rate.

Bonus Question:

  • Evo Firecracker

  • Hero Giant

  • Evo Wizard

  • Hero Wizard

  • Evo Bats

Which ones are good, and which ones are bad?

Rant about "Sense of Self" (One Piece fans can't read?)

This part in Chapter 1194 has been such a disaster for One Piece fans. I can't believe it. It's like they just throw every single statement about Conqueror's Haki from past chapters out.

Some people say Oda retconned Conqueror's Haki, some say users do not really need to want to be a king. Some like Mihawk's explanation and say it's better than any other explanation. Some even claim that Conqueror's Haki is now available for everyone.

No, you can't just believe in yourself. No, you can't just be yourself. I don't know why people like this interpretation so much (I have my guess, but it's not Reddit-friendly, let's just say that).

It has been established about Supreme King Haki:

  • You must have a desire to be a king to unlock it
  • Not everyone can have it

The "sense of self" that Mihawk was talking about refers to wanting to be a king. Your desire to be a king must be purely from yourself and it must be strong and unwavering.

  • Personally, I have never believed that you have to be born with the ability to unlock Conqueror's Haki. Not everyone can have it, but the wall is not genetics.

Alright, that's it. See ya.

P.S. I don't hate Syv or any One Piece YouTuber. Also, >!he's a fellow "Yamato for nakama" believer!<, so I just can't hate him.

I can't believe people still think Kaido and Big Mom are dead

This image is enough proof that they are 100% NOT dead and will come back later, hopefully as an ally.

Stop debating about this. It's clear cut.

The Flame-Flame fruit is more important than you think (The Secret of The Flame-Flame Fruit)

When I first saw Luffy's Gum-Gum Red Hawk move, I asked myself "Why can Luffy use fire powers? Isn't he rubber?". When I was reading the Wano arc, I wondered, why does the Sun God not have sun powers? Why are the Gum-Gum Red moves the best thing Luffy can do with fire/sun?

Yes, the gods do have their stereotypical powers. The Elbaph arc proves that >!the Rain Goddess has rain powers!< . People have also been theorizing that Blackbeard is the Earth God (which I agree with) and he has Earth powers. That's why I find it really peculiar that the Sun God does not have any sun powers.

So I did some research, and I concocted an insane theory: The Flame-Flame fruit is the Sun God's lost sun powers.

A quote from the harley text in Chapter 1138 says:

>...Man killed the sun and became god...

What I find intriguing is the fact that it's "Man killed the sun" and not "Man killed the Sun God".

I'll continue by presenting another quote:

>...The sun god dances and laughs and brings the world to its end. The sun returns and brings a new morning...

What's interesting in this quote is the clause choice of "the sun returns".

If the next interpretation is accurate, then the Gum-Gum fruit is the husk of the Sun God, stripped of his sun powers. In the Second World, a man took away the Sun God's sun powers, hence "Man killed the sun". This would explain why Luffy could use his Gum-Gum Red moves, as that's the tiny bit of the sun power the Sun God has left. In the Third World, the Sun God will regain his lost sun powers, hence "The sun returns". This is why I believe that Luffy will gain a second Devil Fruit power: The Flame-Flame fruit.

One curiosity that I have about Gear 5 is how it's white in color. I know the color white can mean innocence and purity (which can mean freedom), but the color white can also mean emptiness, or absence (of power, perhaps).

I also have a suspicion that The Flame-Flame fruit might have a will of its own. This is because of the fact that the only users of the Flame-Flame fruit (that we know of) are close to the Sun God, implying that it is the fruit's way of getting closer to the Sun God. In Dressrosa, the Flame-Flame fruit could've been eaten by anyone, but it got eaten by Sabo, anyway. It has been established that a Devil Fruit can have a will of its own. Now, the one that has been explicitly stated to have a will is a Mythical Zoan fruit, but, I believe a Logia Devil Fruit can have a will of its own, as well, proven by the Dark-Dark fruit.

An extra flavor of foreshadowing before I move on, Blackbeard said during his battle with Ace "The Sun? or the Darkness? Only one of us will win!". The Sun, NOT the Fire.

Now, you might have this question or concern:

>The Flame-Flame fruit is cool and all. But it has been established that it's not very strong. It loses to the Mag-Mag fruit, and it also loses to the Dark-Dark fruit. Would it really be a meaningful powerup for Luffy?

Remember that not everything is as it seems. For example, perhaps only the Sun God can use the power of the sun to its fullest. This might explain why when in Ace's and Sabo's hands, the Flame-Flame fruit did/does not seem to be that powerful. We all know that the sun's fire is much hotter than even magma, so if the Flame-Flame fruit's true power is the power of the sun, it should easily be stronger than the Mag-Mag fruit. It has been established that the World Government does hide the Devil Fruits' true nature. One of the ways is by giving the fruits fake names.

You might have this pushback, as well:

>You cannot have more than 1 Devil Fruit power.

The "You cannot have more than 1 Devil Fruit power" rule is not a rule that's absolute and cannot be broken in any way. A precedent has been established by none other than Blackbeard that yes, one can have more than 1 Devil Fruit power. Now, this definitely does not apply to everyone, but Luffy is not a regular person.

Like Blackbeard, Luffy has also been established to have a weird body. Ivankov commented about how Luffy surviving the poison in record time was "more than a miracle".

Speaking of, this theory implies that Sabo will die (for real) in the future. To be fair, Oda can think of an excuse for the Flame-Flame fruit's power to be transferred to Luffy without Sabo dying, but I personally think Oda won't do that. I can be wrong though, but if I'm right, I like how the Flame-Flame fruit represents Luffy's brothers' will being inherited by Luffy.

We already know who the next Straw Hat will be (from SBS)

Oda does a segment in the SBS that I describe as "How someone would look like in the future", where Oda draws someone in their 40s and 60s (50s/60s and 70s/80s if that person is too close to being or has passed 40).

This looks like nothing but wholesome at first. However, this segment has deeper secrets. What's curious about this segment is who Oda chose to draw so far. Here are they:

  1. Ace

  2. Luffy

  3. Sabo

  4. Zoro

  5. Nami

  6. Usopp

  7. Chopper

  8. Sanji

  9. Robin

  10. Franky

  11. Brook

  12. Jimbei

  13. Vivi

Notice the pattern. Most of the characters drawn are Straw Hats (and they're in order, except for Sanji and Chopper, but that's probably because of a joke if you read a certain SBS request about it). The only ones who are not Straw Hats are Luffy's brothers. A lot of people, including the Wiki, consider Vivi a Straw Hat, either full-fledged or honorary.

Okay, I lied. Those are not the only characters. There is one more, and that's Yamato. That's right, Yamato will be the next Straw Hat.

Don't kid yourself. They are not the only characters that people request Oda to draw. Oda definitely gets requests to draw all sorts of One Piece characters. However, Oda only chose to draw those. Side note: Oda did not draw Carrot.

Understand this: Oda did not draw Shanks. That's how carefully Oda chose the characters to draw in this segment.

The "Indestructible" Trope

I find this trope annoying in One Piece. There are two items that this trope is applied to: Sea Prism Stone and Ponegliff (Poneglyph).

The first one is less lore-changing, but is significantly more ridiculous.

  • In the introduction to Sea Prism Stone, we are told that it's basically the sea in solid form, meaning it can block Devil Fruit powers. Makes sense.
  • However, I think it's established in Marineford that the Sea Prism Stone cannot be destroyed, like what? What do you mean it cannot be destroyed? I can buy it not being able to be destroyed by Devil Fruit powers, but otherwise, it's just a stone.
  • The next lore drop about this is what pissed me off. Somehow, the Sea Prism Stone also blocks Haki. It blocks everything and it cannot be destroyed. How convenient. I expected a 7-year old to write something like this.
    • The thing is, this can be mitigated (not fully solved. I still think it would be convenient). Just introduce another plot device that can block Haki, and have both attached to a cuff or something.

The next one is extremely plot-relevant.

  • I feel like making it indestructible is a cheap way to "explain" why Imu didn't just destroy the Ponegliffs. Well, here's the thing.
  • First, the Ponegliff stones (metals) can be carved onto. So, it can't be that indestructible. Also, are you telling me that these island-destroyer characters cannot even put a scratch on them?
  • Second, there are still lots of ways to get rid of the ponegliffs, especially since they can be moved. The easiest way is to just keep one in the Room of Flowers. Another way is to bury one meters deep under the sand at the bottom of the sea. Maybe drop one into volcanoes or propel one to the moon.

Mihawk's Blade, and Zoro's Next Powerup

I have a suspicion that Oda is hiding Yoru (Mihawk's black blade)'s true nature. The databooks listed Yoru as a Supreme-grade sword, but I think that's misleading, or at least that's not the full story. I just can't really buy him being the strongest swordsman with just an Excellent-turned-Supreme-grade blade.

It has been established that there ARE non-black Supreme-grade swords in the world. Whitebeard's sword-glaive and Fujitora's sword are some of the examples. Another established fact is that turning a blade black increases its rank. Meaning, those swords will become stronger than Yoru if they're turned black (maybe temporarily, using Armament Haki).

I think Yoru was a Supreme-grade blade before it turned black. This means Mihawk has the only sword in the world whose rank is higher than Supreme.

This brings us to Zoro. I'll just say the theory directly up front: I believe Zoro will replace Enma and Kitetsu III with 2 Supreme-grade swords. How? I don't know, but my theory is by having a blacksmith forge 2 new Supreme-grade swords for him (and maybe upgrade Wado Ichimonji to Supreme-grade, as well, since Zoro won't replace it).

Zoro is not just going to be a swordsman. He's aiming to be the greatest swordsman. Therefore, the ranks of his swords matter. Having new swords forged for him also fits very well with the idea that the greatest swordsman does not use someone else's swords.

When will this happen? Probably not this arc. But I believe it will probably happen close to the Final War arc.

The Worst Naruto Content Ever

Spoilers for the entirety of Naruto.

If you know about this, DO NOT HARASS ANYONE INVOLVED. I DO NOT CONDONE HARASSMENT.

This is easily the worst Naruto video of all time, and I don't think it can ever be topped. The biggest problem is not the video itself, but how damaging the video has been to the Naruto franchise. This may have been the most blow Naruto has ever gotten. This is worse than >!Black Zetsu betraying Madara!<. That's how damaging this has been.

The ultimate point that people got from this is "Neji was right", basically implying that Naruto is at odds with its message of the underdog. Except that that has never been what Naruto is about. Literally Chapter 1 of Naruto said "See this monster? See this kid? This kid has the power of this monster inside him". What kind of underdog has the power of a monster inside him?

Naruto is about having determination, doing your best despite the odds, and Naruto has never betrayed this. One implementation of this is shattering fate. AT THE TIME, Naruto was fated to lose to Neji. Literally all common sense points to Neji winning the battle. Hagoromo would not have saved Naruto. Naruto would have actually died had he got defeated here. But Naruto still tried. Another example being Naruto shattered the fate of world peace being impossible. Even until the very end, he shattered the fate of Ashura and Indra reincarnations always fighting each other to the death.

  • Side Note: Hagoromo has never saved Naruto. He gave Naruto and Sasuke power, but he did not save them from death.

I won't get too long on this, because there are multiple videos debunking the slander in great detail that you can watch. Yes, multiple good videos were made utterly debunking the slander of this video, and yet a lot of people, maybe most people, still believe the message of this video. The creator literally started the video with "I don't know much about Naruto", and yet people still ate this shit up, proving that people only hear what they want to hear.

Naruto has flaws and is not a perfect series, just like the rest of the Big 3, despite what some One Piece fans say. But, Naruto probably got slandered the most out of the Big 3. I remember another video that has "STEALTHY AS F#CK" in the thumbnail, implying that Naruto destroys its worldbuilding of stealthy ninjas. Except that literally Chapter 1 of Naruto showed a massive demon fox monster that could crumble mountains and cause tsunamis, and the fact that one person was strong enough that he could fight and seal such monster. Naruto has never been about stereotypical ninjas, just like One Piece has never been about stereotypical pirates, just like Bleach has never been about stereotypical soul reapers.

Predicting The Straw Hats' Bounties at The End of The Series

>Why do the Straw Hats still have bounties at the end?

The answer is because the Marines will still exist even at the end of One Piece. I don't know why people believe that there won't be any bounty system. There will still be bad pirates, even after Luffy becomes the Pirate King. The world will still need the Marines.

That said, while the Straw Hats will still have bounties, I believe their bounties will be frozen as a special reward for saving the world (?). So, here's what I think the Straw Hats' bounties will be at the end of One Piece. Side note: I believe all of them will be in the billions.

  1. Luffy - 5.6B berries
    • This is nothing new. A lot of people predict that Luffy's bounty will be this much, and I agree. Two reasons, one, it's higher than Roger's bounty, and two, it's 5-6 (Go-Mu).
  2. Zoro - 3.6B berries
    • Slightly higher than Mihawk's bounty. I personally do not think Zoro's bounty will be any higher than this, because a captain typically has a significant gap in bounty, even compared to his first mate.
  3. Sanji - 3.3B berries
    • 10 times one of his previous bounties of 330M and slightly lower than Zoro's.
  4. Usopp - 2.5B berries
    • I do believe Usopp's bounty will be even higher than Jinbe's. I have high hopes for Usopp, as one of the only 3 Straw Hats whose dreams are power-based.
  5. Jinbe - 2.3B berries
    • 10 times Fisher Tiger's last bounty. Fitting.
  6. Franky - 1.994B berries
    • I believe Oda will keep Franky's gag about his bounty being 6M short of a milestone, so 1.994B.
  7. Brook - 1.983B berries
    • Same as Franky. Brook's gag about his bounty being 17M short of a milestone will still be kept.
  8. Robin - 1.3B berries
    • I personally believe that Robin's bounty is only that high (930M) because of her ability to read the ponegliffs. At the end of One Piece, that will not be needed anymore. So, I believe Robin's bounty will not skyrocket that much. I can totally be very wrong in this, as this is the one that I'm not that certain about.
  9. Nami - 1.066B berries
    • Same kept gag about her bounty ending in 6M or 66M.
  10. Chopper - 1B berries
  • Chopper's bounty will entirely depend on whether or not Oda will keep Chopper's comically low bounty gag. If yes, then Chopper's bounty will be 10K. However, I have a feeling that Oda will give this poor "medicine merchant" a break, though not fully, as I believe Chopper's bounty should be in the range of 1.5B to 2B.

How I would rewrite Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V

Some important notes before the rewrite:

  1. OBVIOUSLY spoilers for the entire story of the Arc-V anime.
  2. This will NOT be a fanfic. Believe me, I do not like fanfics. This will only consist of rough (plot) points.
  3. I will follow the same "restrictions" the writers had, like:
    • 150 maximum episodes
    • A "rumor" that someone demanded the inclusion of legacy Yu-Gi-Oh characters mid-show
    • Same Z-Arc and Ray plot
  4. I do not claim to be a perfect writer. So please just chill in the comments.

Now, to the rewrite of the structure of the anime:

  • All 4 worlds should be explored at the same amount of length. So, I think Arc-V should drop the 50 episodes/arc structure and instead implement a shorter 35-37 episodes/arc structure. The flow is, from the Pendulum arc, to the Synchro arc, to the Xyz arc, and finally, to the Fusion arc (the same as the canon).
  • Considering Arc-V's ambitious story, I think it should remove most of the slice-of-life episodes and focus more on the dark story.
  • Action Duels and Interrupting duels should be reworked. Here are my rework suggestions:
    • Interrupting duels should not interrupt the current flow of the duel. If P3 joins P2 vs P1 and it's now P2's turn, P3's turn will be after P1's turn.
    • Interrupting duels do not have a 2000 LP penalty. This sounds ridiculous, but it will make sense after I explain the Action Duel.
    • Action Duel changes:
      • No negative action cards
      • Action cards can be Spell (Normal or Quick-Play) or Trap (Normal or Counter) cards, Action Trap cards must be Set before use like the usual Trap cards.
      • Each player can (and probably should) take a card(s) once per turn, anytime during their turn, but only during their turn (no taking Action cards during the opponent's turn).
      • Which player can take cards and how many: 1v1: Both players can take 1 card each per turn, 1vN: Only the disadvantaged player can take N-1 cards per turn (the player will get multiple Action cards at once when they take an Action card)
  • Every bracelet girl should have powers, not just Yuzu.
    • Serena: Can locate where each Yu-boy is (not exact location, only in what dimension)
    • Ruri: Can locate where each bracelet girl is (not exact location, only in what dimension)
    • Rin: Warns the other bracelet girls (vaguely, by making their bracelets pulse) if 2 or more Yu-boys are close to each other

The rewrite of the Pendulum arc:

  • Yuya starts as a decently capable duelist, like his counterparts. This means no training episodes other than the Pendulum/Synchro/Xyz/Fusion Summon training.
  • The series starts almost immediately (try Episode 3) with Yuto going to the Pendulum dimension plot, then the tournament.
  • Yuya should not merge with Yuto in this arc. They should stay separated until the Xyz arc. Also, Yugo does not go to the Pendulum dimension.
  • Ruri gets captured first (This will explain why Yuto goes to the Pendulum dimension). Rin, Serena, and Yuzu stay uncaptured in this arc.
  • Yuya duels Yuri and is losing, when Yuzu comes and teleports Yuri away.
  • They (including Yuzu and Serena) go to the Synchro dimension because Reggie (Reiji) wants to recruit people there.
  • Yuto and Shun want to join, but Yuzu unknowingly teleports Yuto to the Xyz dimension, and Serena tells Shun that Yuto is in the Xyz dimension.

The rewrite of the Synchro arc:

  • Rin gets some screen time.
  • The story immediately goes to the tournament. I actually do not hate the canon story about the tournament, so they can keep it like that.
  • Sometime close to the end of the arc, Serena gets captured by Yuri.

The rewrite of the Xyz arc:

  • Okay, so I actually am completely lost on what to add to the Xyz arc to justify the 35 episodes length. You can tell what you can think up in the comments. Maybe have Leo Akaba do something threatening here. Also maybe give Ruri some screen time.
  • Yuto duels Yuri in this arc and loses. But, just before Yuto merges with Yuri, Yuya arrives, so Yuto somehow merges with Yuya, instead. Yuya then duels and destroys Yuri, but Yuri manages to escape before he fully loses.
  • After that, at the end of this arc, Yuri goes to the Synchro dimension and captures Rin.

The rewrite of the Fusion arc:

  • Yuzu gets separated from the group, fights the 3 mind-controlled bracelet girls (not at once, start with Serena, then Ruri joins, then Rin joins), loses, and gets captured.
  • Yugo goes to the Fusion dimension to find Rin. Yuri then challenges Yugo to a duel and wins. No Aster or Kite or anyone interrupting the duel. The duel should be a full-on 1v1 duel.
  • No Battle Beast.
  • I don't mind the canon duel of Yuya/Yuto vs Ruri and Serena, but it can be rearranged. Maybe Yuya/Yuto vs all 4 bracelet girls at once? That sounds awesome.
  • The rest until Z-Arc vs Everyone stays almost the same as the canon. Maybe allow Alexis to join the vs Z-Arc duel? It would be interesting to see how she would fare against Z-Arc, since Ritual is not covered by Z-Arc's protections.
  • I don't know how, but in the end, the Yu-boys and the bracelet girls should be separated.

Thoughts on the first Bakugan video game?

I think the game is really good. My favorite part of the game is that you get your own special ace Bakugan, and the ace Bakugan is not only not lame, but also really cool. Leonidas has a great design (even better as Omega Leonidas). It starts slow, as the first Bakugan battlefield is just plain boring and you need to finish a whole tournament in it. This is probably where most people drop the game. However, after that, the element-based battlefields are all really awesome, easily the second-best part of the game to me. You don't just throw your Bakugan and that's it. You can travel with your Bakugan and make them stronger when they land on a Gate Card. The battle feels amazing at first, but it gets stale a bit quickly. The game is also not hard, as the enemies are rather bad when it comes to utilizing the battlefield and the mechanics (like Sphere Attacks), and controlling the Bakugan.

This is my final Pyrus run deck. I always use this exact deck whenever I do a Pyrus run. I use Preyas Diablo instead of Fortress because I just don't like using the Alternate 5 (Chan Lee, Klaus, Komba, Billy, Julio)'s aces. I want to try Darkus and Subterra runs next. I'm a bit nervous because I have NEVER done any run using an element other than Pyrus, and that's because the (Omega) Leonidas Gate Card has different G-Power boosts for different elements, and only Pyrus gets the biggest number from both cards.

What do you think of this game? You can also share your run deck or experience, as well.

Reading One Piece for the first time: The Summit/Paramount War Saga (2/2)

I am a Naruto and Bleach fan, currently checking out the One Piece manga. I have just finished the second half of the Paramount War saga (Chapters 550-597).

Firstly, the manga.

  • It has the best paneling in One Piece so far. The clarity still hasn't reached Bleach level, but the ambition is clearly there. The highlight is, for sure, the back-to-back double page spreads during the Whitebeard Pirates vs the Marines war, to show how chaotic (in a good way) the Paramount war is. This saga has probably the most double-page spreads/chapter in the Big 3. I think there is a chapter where every "page" is a double-page spread.
  • I think I have not given this enough credit. Huge props to Oda's team. One Piece is probably the most dedicated in the Big 3 when it comes to backgrounds. I mean, they have always been detailed in the previous sagas, but this saga in particular shows how detailed and good-looking the backgrounds are.

Okay, to the story. I will only be covering the second half of the Paramount War saga in this post, but the overall will be towards the entire saga. There are too many things that happen in this part, so I can't describe everything.

  • You know it's awesome when it starts with a Bleach-level plot twist that Ace is Gol D. Roger's son. I like how the Marines are impatiently waiting for the Whitebeard Pirates to come. The Whitebeard Pirates' arrival is really good, too. I love how the ship looks like a blue whale.
  • The war is AWESOME. I love how the Whitebeard Pirates and the Marines (particularly the Admirals and the Warlords) interact with each other. I also love the dynamic between the Marines and the Warlords, how the Warlords are not particularly loyal and are just there for their own personal goals and to keep their title.
    • I am not the biggest fan of Oars. It comes out of nowhere, and it is almost immediately defeated. At least Oars still did one last thing a bit later on.
  • Luffy's arrival is funny and morale-boosting. I love Whitebeard remembering about Shanks and what he said during his discussion with him. It does feel like Luffy is a special guy even before Sengoku reveals his past. Speaking of, I love everyone's reaction when Sengoku reveals Luffy's past.
  • The tension of the war is real. Take notes, Skypiea. You do not need to threaten to nuke a place to create tension. I always felt like Ace could die. The Pirates really, really tried to save Ace and it felt GREAT when Luffy managed to save him.
  • Ace and Whitebeard dying was absolutely heartbreaking. I know the way it is drawn, Luffy mourning Ace's death looks funny, but rest assured I did not laugh.
  • The end of the war is excellent. I like how it's not black and white. The Pirates does not successfully rescue Ace, destroy the Marine Headquarters, and keep Whitebeard alive. That would be boring.
  • The aftermath of the war is very good.
    • The Ace and Luffy flashback is really long, and honestly a bit boring. But it gives more context to the Ace and Luffy's dynamic.
    • Jimbei knocking the sense into Luffy is great, and a bit relatable to my real life.
    • I love the Straw Hats' reaction to Luffy ordering them to train for 2 years.
    • This saga has probably the best excuse for a timeskip and the best way to execute it in the Big 3. They realize that they are separated and they need to get stronger in order to survive the New World.

Time for the characters. There are lots of highlight characters in this saga. I will list them.

  • The Whitebeard Pirates. They're as strong as expected.
    • Whitebeard. Definitely the best character out of the Whitebeard Pirates. His Devil Fruit power, while not one of my favorites, is really strong, probably the strongest in the series so far, with the arguable competition being Akainu's and Blackbeard's Devil Fruit powers.
    • Marco. This character makes me have a much better opinion on Zoan type Devil Fruit powers. Okay, not quite, I still think Zoan type is the most boring, but it is definitely much less boring now because of how Marco utilizes it. Also, I like Phoenix, so that's partially why.
  • Blackbeard. Holy. I do wonder how powerful Blackbeard is right now? The Dark Dark Fruit is already strong, and now he has Whitebeard's Devil Fruit power, as well?. I do notice that he still sucks at Haki, but what if he learns Haki during the timeskip like Luffy (and probably the Straw Hats, as well)? Personally, I don't know how Luffy can defeat Blackbeard without also having 2 Devil Fruit powers.
    • I knew it. Blackbeard being able to have 2 Devil Fruit powers must be the follow-up to what Luffy and Zoro said about Blackbeard "being more than 1 guy".
  • The Navy Admirals. Stellar performance from all of them, more so Akainu and Aokiji, slightly less so Kizaru. They also have awesome designs, kudos to Oda. Finally, we get shown how powerful they can be. Aokiji freezing the entire tidal wave that Whitebeard creates, and Kizaru's light laser shower at the end are awesome. However, I personally think Akainu is the MVP from the Admirals' side. I like how Akainu's Devil Fruit power is just straight up stronger than Ace's. At first, I thought Akainu's Devil Fruit power was a Paramythia-type, because it did feel like his power mimicked a volcano instead of the magma itself, and because maybe that's how Oda justified Akainu's fire being straight up stronger than Ace's. But nope, Akainu's is a Logia type.
    • Also, I like how Akainu is technically correct. The Pirates lost the Paramount War. They were supposed to rescue Ace. But, in the end, not only did they lose him, but they also lost Whitebeard. Even though to be fair, the Marines also lost. The real winner of the Paramount War was Blackbeard.
  • The Fleet Admiral Sengoku. Very, very disappointing. I expected that Sengoku would be as powerful as, if not more powerful than, the Admirals under him. But no. Not only is his Devil Fruit power boring, but it also does absolutely nothing. It does feel like he's just the admin guy.
  • Doflamingo. I like him. I like how he's a sort-of psychopathic guy who does not really care about who he works for, as long as it fulfills his goals. He reminds me of Askin from Bleach a little bit. I still don't know what his powers are, though.
  • Buggy. He's a funny character. He's growing on me. I like how he's on course to be the biggest fraud in One Piece (and probably the Big 3). Usopp looks like a chump compared to Buggy.

Overall, masterpiece. The Paramount War saga is THE BEST saga in One Piece so far, and it can compete with Bleach and Naruto's best arcs, like the Soul Society arc and the Pain arc. It has an awesome ending, an interesting theme and setting, a strong tension and uncertainty, the most shocking plot twists, and the best paneling, choreography and drawings. That being said, this arc is not flawless. The beginning is pretty bad, even though it is, the length of the entire saga considered, rather short. However, that's normal. Masterpieces can still have flaws. Dark Souls is a masterpiece and its last third is mid at best.

The cover stories are unremarkable. The CP9 cover story is whatever. I guess they become the enemy of the Marines now? I don't really care. The Straw Hats cover stories suck. They show nothing. I think the only one that matters is the Robin one, as it shows Robin being saved by the Revolutionary army.

Last but not least, predictions. I have one, and despite the very astronomically high chance of being wrong, I am excited for this one. I think Blackbeard has THREE Devil Fruit powers. One of the Devil Fruit powers is a Zoan-type that allows Blackbeard to essentially have "multiple selves", which allows him to have more than 1 Devil Fruit powers without the powers fighting each other. Maybe a Cerberus Zoan, because it has 3 heads? Maybe a Hydra one? I do not know exactly what animal. (Bring it on. I know I'm most likely wrong lmao)

Debt Rework Ideas

I have 5 ideas on how I would rework Debt. I personally do not like that you can pay off the curse without removing it.

  1. The first is by significantly reducing the Gold loss of Debt in exchange of giving it Eternal. This is the least punishing early on. However, this can completely eat up your Gold if your deck can't handle the curse well.
  2. The second is to implement a percentage-based increment to Debt. This means you can remove it, and the disadvantage is significantly lessened in the early game, but it can destroy you if you don't remove it immediately.
  3. The third is a variation of the second, but it is a bit more punishing. The reason I have this one is because the second's mechanics feel awkward (increasing by 50% is a bit awkward IMO).
  4. The fourth is a much simpler nerf, by reducing the number to 5.
  5. The fifth is another simple nerf, by adding Ethereal. This is better earlier on and in Elite/Boss fights than the fourth (where you typically shuffle your deck multiple times), but it is worse if you can end a battle in 2 to 3 turns.

What do you think?

What Happened to Ichigo's Fullbring Power?

Spoilers for the Fullbring arc.

No seriously, what happened?

>!At the end of the Fullbring arc, Ginjo joins the villains and absorbs Ichigo's Fullbring power!< . Yet, in the TYBW arc, Yhwach implies that Ichigo has his Fullbring powers.

>!Ginjo implies that Ichigo still has his Fullbring powers, as well.!<

So, what happened? How much Fullbring power does Ichigo have? >!Is the Fullbring power that Ginjo absorbed gone permanently, or is it something that can be recovered?!<

Reading One Piece for the first time: The Skypiea Arc

I am a Naruto and Bleach fan, currently checking out the One Piece manga. I have just finished the Skypiea arc (Chapters 218-302). This time, I will be referring to the Fandom wiki for arc chapter list, as apparently, the Baroque Works arc is until Chapter 217. So, I missed 1 chapter in my last post. Meanwhile, the Skypiea arc is until Chapter 302, and I had read Chapter 303 before knowing this. Just my luck.

Anyway, the manga. The paneling problems I had with the last arc persists. Just like I said in my last post, this problem only occurs in action-heavy moments like fights. I'm not going to dwell too long in this, since I have explained this in my last post. Someone said that the paneling would improve. Also, I believe Oda is capable of good paneling. The Zoro vs Mr. 1 fight had good paneling. I quite enjoyed reading it.

On to the story. The story is divided into three parts: Part 1, from the very beginning to reaching Skypiea; Part 2, from arriving at Skypiea to after everyone regroups with their respective groups; and Part 3, the entire war until the end of the arc.

  • Part 1 is very good. Definitely a much better beginning than Baroque Works. The idea of a sky island is unexpected and exciting. Apparently, this is where the rather famous meme is from (you know what the meme is). The way the Straw Hats go up is unique.
    • I like how bounty is used to pseudo-measure someone's power level. This is much better than Dragon Ball Z's implementation. In Dragon Ball Z, power levels are absolute, so the higher power level is automatically the stronger one. Here, that's not the case.
    • Why does Blackbeard want to defeat Luffy? Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think pirates can turn in wanted pirates for bounty money, unless maybe those pirates have a direct connection to the Marines for some reason, like the Warlords.
  • Part 2 is a bit boring. The pacing is a bit slow. The "Crime level" thing went nowhere and ended up not mattering at all. I'm sorry to say, but it's a bit of a waste of time. That said, I like the Naruto (Hidden Cloud Village) and Dragon Ball (Ball Dragon) references.
  • Part 3 is really good. The first half of this part is... eh... I don't think it's terrible, but it's not awesome, either. The second half more than makes up for the mid first half. Enel is an entertaining and threatening villain. The "Vassals" are more forgettable than the Baroque Works agents, however. The ending is FANTASTIC, the best arc ending in One Piece so far.
    • I can see another reason why people love One Piece: The worldbuilding. The ending of the Skypiea arc shows a lot about not only the arc (the Noland flashback), but also about future arcs (the ponegliffs (Ponegliff? Poneglyph?)).
    • That said, the entire arc gets some points deducted for wasted potential and repeating the Alabasta subarc's plot points.
      • When I read the Enel stuff, I was like "Dude, this is Alabasta all over again. Really? Another bomb that destroys the area?". I was expecting something different, considering that the setting (a sky island) is unique. I will say this: Enel's bomb is cooler than Crocodile's.
      • It's a wasted potential. I personally am a bit disappointed that Enel's power came from another devil fruit. Considering there are a lot of mentions about Angel and Kami (God), I was expecting that Enel's power came from something angel-related. That would be unique and fitting for the theme and setting. Having Enel, an angel, motivated to kill Luffy, a demon, would be refreshing, rather than yet another destroying an area with a timed bomb plot point.

After that, the characters. I like Robin and Enel in this arc. I like Blackbeard, too. That said, the other sky islanders are not very memorable.

  • It is insane how powerful Enel is. Probably the most powerful character in One Piece so far. Before Enel, the most powerful was, like, island-level at best. Meanwhile, Enel is easily country-level. The Straw Hats would've been screwed had Luffy not been immune to lightning.
    • I did not expect that Luffy would be immune to lightning. You see, there is someone who can use rubber-based Jutsu in Naruto (guess who). Long story short, rubber is not immune to lightning in Naruto (it resists lightning at best). That said, after witnessing the reveal, I remembered Luffy being struck by lightning in a previous chapter and not being affected by it. Pretty cool foreshadowing.
  • Robin is a mysterious character for sure. I mentioned about being spoiled when it comes to Robin and Franky being Straw Hat members in my last post, but maybe that won't last forever. At first, I thought Robin joining the Straw Hats in Chapter 217 had some sincerity to it, since Robin was willing to die (as far as the Straw Hats are concerned, going to Skypiea has a 99% chance of going wrong and ending up in brutal death). But, the mention of this "Raftel (?)" guy basically killed that thought. Maybe being a good spy requires a willingness to die for your mission.

Overall, this is as good as the Baroque Works arc IMO. I like the beginning, and I am a big fan of the ending, but the Part 2 is mediocre and I have a few problems with the arc fundamentally. I am looking forward for more lore reveals in the future.

Time for the cover story. I don't hate the Wapol story, but I am not exactly a fan or anything like that. The Ace one is kind of funny, considering what happened with Luffy and Blackbeard.

Lastly, predictions. I have one. This "Former Pirate King" Gol D. Roger guy was probably Luffy's grandfather. It is possible that he was Luffy's father, but I am significantly less convinced. Gol D. Roger is considered a legend who has fought Whitebeard, and Whitebeard looks old, so Roger must be old. I know people will most likely laugh at this prediction turning out to being hilariously false. Maybe it turns out that Luffy's father, whoever he is, was just inspired by Roger and added "D." to his and his children's names or something like that.

Reading One Piece for the first time: The Baroque Works Arc

I am a Naruto and Bleach fan, currently checking out the One Piece manga. I have just finished the Baroque Works arc (Chapters 101-216).

Before I go to the story, I'd like to comment about the manga.

  • The paneling is not very good in fights (it is not a problem outside of them). Some panels are too small for how important they're supposed to be, some panels are big despite only showing less than 4 people standing. This is a minor negative in the grand scheme of things, as I can just re-read the page or watch the anime to solve this. Also, this is early One Piece, and early Bleach was actually worse than this. Hopefully, the paneling gets better in later chapters, like Bleach did.
  • Oda put effort when it comes to drawing backgrounds. Stellar job.
  • Kishimoto is still unbeatable in the Big 3 when it comes to fight choreography. Even in early Naruto, the choreography is very smooth. So, I won't hold it against other mangaka if the manga's fight choreography is worse. One Piece's fight choreography in the manga is good, considering it's early. It does have a minor problem of not being very readable because of the paneling, though.

Okay, to the story. The Baroque Works arc is divided into 5 subarcs: Laboon, Whisky Peak, Little Garden, Drum Kingdom, and Alabasta (unofficial names).

  • The Laboon subarc is a bit weak when it comes to starting an arc, but it's not a big deal, as it's nowhere near the highlight of the arc. I do not like how Luffy resolves the Laboon problem. "You were betrayed by your childhood friends? How about putting another trust on us strangers?". I wonder, do they go back to Laboon in the future? Don't spoil it lmao.
  • Whisky Peak is overall a waste of time. I get the point. It is necessary to show that the Grand Line is a complicated place, but that does not change the fact. I like the Zoro vs the Baroque Works minions, but I do not like the "Luffy vs Zoro" would-be fight, as it didn't feel natural.
  • Little Garden is more or less the same as Whisky Peak, but I like Dorry and Broggy.
  • Drum Kingdom is okay. Wapol is not a good and threatening villain, and the readers waste time watching the Straw Hats climb a mountain. That said, I like everything about Chopper in Drum Kingdom.
  • Alabasta is by far the best part of this arc. The war plot is entertaining and tense, and Mr. 0 is a charismatic and threatening villain. The beginning is a bit dragged out IMO, but it gets better the later it goes.

Next, the characters. I like Crocodile as a main villain. I like Mr. 2 and Ms. Doublefinger as side villains. The other Baroque Works agents are rather forgettable. Vivi is my favorite character of the arc. Ace is pretty cool, too. Luffy acted as an idiot a bit too many times than I like, but I like how he knocked some sense into Vivi. Usopp is growing on me. I love that Usopp's, like, the most annoying Straw Hat member to the enemy. He needs to learn more taunts and annoying moves.

  • OK, confession time. I actually got spoiled about Robin and Franky. A child/teen magazine I used to read around 15-20 years ago showed Nico Robin and Franky as Straw Hat members. That said, I only got spoiled about their names and appearances, nothing else. I was like "WTF, that's Robin" when I saw Ms. All-Sunday. I also called the "Vivi is joining the Straw Hats, but not really" fakeout because of this.
  • Robin acted weird in the arc. She saved Luffy and asked something weird, as if she was curious about Luffy. I tried checking previous chapters to see why Robin did it, but nothing. Maybe that will be revealed in a future arc.

Overall, worse than the East Blue arc, but the Alabasta part is better than it.

Now, the cover story. The Django one is slightly better than okay. The Hachi one is pretty bad, though. I really don't care about Hachi. Granted, the cover story is not finished in Chapter 216, but I don't think it will get any better.

Lastly, predictions. I don't really have any, other than "Smoker will either be kicked out of or quit the Marines", but I don't know how confident I am about that one.

Reading One Piece for the first time: The East Blue Arc

I am a Naruto and Bleach fan. I am currently checking out the One Piece manga to complete the trifecta.

My opinions before I read One Piece:

  • Bleach is more well-known for its legendary villains. Naruto has a balanced portion of legendary good and bad guys. One Piece is more well-known for the good guys.
  • One Piece has the weakest battles of the Big 3

I chose the manga because it's faster and it's 100% canon. I'll check the anime later when I catch up with the manga (and if I want to and have the time). I have finished up to the East Blue Arc (Chapters 1-100).

After reading the manga, I can understand why people love One Piece. I stand by my opinion (for now) that One Piece has the weakest battles of the Big 3, but battles are not the main attraction of One Piece. I think it's the adventure and the storytelling.

I love the process of Luffy recruiting the crew members. I think the storytelling was very good. It was not forced. It made sense why the crew members joined Luffy. The story was engaging and enjoyable because it was a crew recruitment arc, though. I do wonder how it will go when the Straw Hats do not recruit anyone.

  • Also, Luffy mentioned about "10 people" in the very first chapter. Is it going to be 10 people or just 10 other people (so 11 in total)? I'll probably find out in the future.

Since my opinion is that One Piece is more well-known for the good guys, I'm going to check on the villains more. The villains were competent, but nothing special, not even close to being Madara or Aizen level yet. So far, I do like Mihawk and Smoker.

There is one thing I love about the manga: The "side story". In the beginning of a chapter, there was one panel showing what happened to other characters. In this arc's case, what happened to Buggy and Koby. Hopefully that is kept in the future.

Overall, I like it so far. This arc is better than the Fullbring arc, the Agent of Shinigami arc (the very first Bleach arc), and the first third of Naruto's 4th Great Ninja War arc. I can't wait to read the next arc to know what happens, but I have to control myself.

Lastly, predictions. I only have one for now: Shanks will die. The first time I saw him, I was like "Yep, he's dead. I just don't know when."
