Cammo, My Beautiful Reticulated Gargoyle Gecko.

A portrait of my beautiful Cammo. I love the wild reticulated morph, which is what Cammo is.

Clever Girl!!

This is Harley who is actually a male. He was channeling his inner Jurassic Park raptor here though. So, I had to coin the famous line from the movie for the title. It popped directly in my head as I was taking this shot. 😁

A very relaxed Green Tree Frog

My guy named Robin (after Kermit's nephew). It's not easy being green. 😉

Gialla - My newest addition to my Crested Gecko family.

She is a yellow harlequin and number four of my Cresteds. I've had her about a month but only handled her once so far. Trying to give her plenty of time to acclimate. 😁

Why do we have to do this?

Yesterday, I saw a post that was asking for help with a co workers gecko. It was in the other Leopard Gecko sub but the same thing happens here, so I decided to post here my question. They asked if any one could help as it was shedding a lot, having eye troubles and just looked ill. OP asked to not be to hard them as it wasn't their gecko.

The gecko looked bad for sure and was a typical Vitamin A deficiency problem. Only things that needed to be said it was that it is a Vitamin A deficiency and the gecko needed to be taken to the vet. As well as for the owners to make sure they give the gecko an appropriate multivitamin in the future.

Instead people started piling on with how bad and abusive the owner was and they are horrible people. One person even stated that it is horrible that the OP was friends with the owners and would be so wrong of them to be continuing on with the friendship. The attacks just continued on. Exactly opposite of what the OP had asked for.

Well, I went back to see that the OP had deleted the post. You can't blame them with how people were behaving. Now though, is that gecko going to get the help it needs? Probably not. The need for tearing a person down with anger will mean the death of a gecko. We could have just helped and put the owners on the right path. Vitamin A deficiency is a common mistake from first time owners and easily fixed. Now, it may not even be addressed. All we needed to do was be polite and help, but for some reason that is impossible these days. So I ask everyone: Why do we have to do this?
