Hello,

My goal is to connect my Hisense TV to my Sony audio receiver that my speakers are connected to. Initially, I used a 3.5mm to RCA cable to connect the receiver to the TV's headphone jack. It goes through my speakers, however, the audio quality is very poor.

Since then, I have been trying to connect the red/white RCA cable from the audio receiver to a TOSLINK optical audio cable via a digital-to-analog audio converter.

I have been under the impression that this method should work, with the correct TV settings, yet no matter what I try, I cannot get any sound coming out. I have the digital output settings set to PCM

What I am reading is that I need to set my TV audio output settings to SPDIF/Optical, though that is not an option on my TV.

My goal is to use my PC as a remote control/live monitor for my Sony a7s. I have a micro HDMI to HDMI cable connecting the a7s to my PC via the Elgato Camlink 4K.

My Windows PC does recognize the camera, and in the camera app, it functions as a live monitor. However, the Sony Imaging Edge software does not detect my camera, so I am unable to use it as a remote (settings control).

Does anyone know if this limitation is due to the Sony a7s being fairly old these days, or if I am missing a piece/step to get this working?

Hey folks,

My VX1000 has a mini DV tape stuck in the deck. For someone who doesn't take tech apart, is this easy or safe enough for me to attempt myself? I have a family video tape I am hoping to recover. The cassette deck opens with the switch, and the orange playback controls light up, but the release mechanism won't perform. There's a white up-triangle (arrow) that flashes and beeps while the camcorder is on.

If this is something I can do, could someone give me some pointers on sorting this out and how to do it?

Hey! Using shortcuts or some Windows method, could someone help me create an automation?

Basically, I want to press a button or enter a shortcut that automatically opens a website from the clipboard in Chrome with specific text prepending it.

If a website link is copied to my clipboard, can I have a button open a Chrome window, paste it, and enter the link with removepaywalls.com/ prepending it?
