I think Arsenal should go for Haaland and here's why

Everyone's dismissing this as fantasy football, but hear me out.

Look at what's happened to City's spine over the past couple years: KDB gone, Rodri's future uncertain, Silva's not getting any younger, and even Pep's aura isn't what it was. The empire that made City City is visibly breaking up. Haaland built his whole game inside that machine, but the machine itself is changing shape around him.

That's exactly the moment a rival should test the water. Players don't leave dominant projects, they leave projects that stop feeling dominant. If City's identity is shifting and the trophies stop coming as automatically, Haaland's calculus changes too. Arsenal, fresh off a title, with genuine Champions League ambition and a squad on the rise, becomes a legitimate alternative in a way it wasn't two years ago.

And forget the tactical nitpicking for a second, yes, he's a penalty-box poacher rather than a link-up 9, yes our buildup play might need adjusting. But a player of Haaland's caliber elevates literally any team he joins. You don't turn down a generational goalscorer because your system needs tweaking, you tweak the system. Great managers build around great players, not the other way round. Arteta's shown he can adapt (see: Havertz at false-9). He'd find a way to make it work.

We can't do another season with Gyökeres. No fear factor, no X factor. Haaland gives us that instantly, defenders don't sleep easy against him.

Bottom line: the door that's always been shut at City is cracking open as their golden generation disperses. Arsenal should absolutely be knocking.

How do I fucking win in life?

I've lost purpose. I’ve lost passion for almost everything. I look ahead and see no future, no direction, no reason to care.

Right now, I feel empty, exhausted, and honestly scared that something in me is just gone.

I keep asking myself whether I’m broken, failing, or just stuck in a season that I can’t understand yet.

I don’t know how to get back to myself, or whether “myself” even exists the way it used to.

So I’m asking seriously: how do you keep going when nothing feels worth it?

How do you build a life when you can’t feel the point of one?

Am I actually done, or is this something people come back from?

You Can’t Run Forever

When you think about us, what are you hoping for? And what are you most afraid might happen?

I’m not asking for perfect answers, just enough clarity so I know where you stand and you know where I stand. I'm tired of these hide and seek games you play.

Stop grading yourself on a forgiving curve

Stop grading yourself on a forgiving curve.

We all do it. We let ourselves off the hook for the same mistake twice because "at least I tried." We call procrastination "processing." We call avoidance "self-care." Somewhere along the way we started marking our own exams and giving ourselves partial credit for showing up.

But growth doesn't happen on a curve. It happens when you hold yourself to the actual standard — not the one you'd accept from a friend who's having a hard week, but the one you know you're capable of hitting.

Stop being generous with yourself where it counts.

If you're still waiting for me to take the initiative, we are fucked.

If you’re waiting for me to take the initiative, then we are truly fucked.

I’ve spent my whole life standing at doorways, studying the grain of the wood instead of knocking, mistaking hesitation for peace.

I will love you in every tense except the present. I will write the text and leave it in my drafts like a little ghost, brave until it has to be sent.

Somewhere, I learned that wanting things was a kind of debt. That if I waited long enough, the world would get tired of watching me not ask and simply hand them over.

It never does.

So here we are, circling the same silence, each mistaking the other’s stillness for an answer.

I am not being cruel. I am standing exactly where you left me, still practicing the sentence I have not said.

To the almost-us that never got the chance to be real

Hey,

I don’t even know if you’ll ever read this. Maybe that’s the point. Some things are easier to say when they’re not meant to land in your inbox, when they can just exist somewhere between my head and this screen.

I’ve been thinking a lot about us. About how we orbit each other without ever really colliding. I mean it's okay but what the heck can I do about it? I think we're just going to have to be secretly in love with each other and leave it at that. xD

I thought I could nonchalantly let you be but I'm not built like that. Pretending I don’t care has never worked for me, and pretending I don’t notice you is even worse. The more I try to act like this doesn’t matter, the more obvious it becomes that it does.

It sounds dramatic, I know. But it doesn’t feel fake. It feels like one of those quiet truths you carry around because saying it out loud would change too much. And maybe that’s why I’m writing this. Not to change anything. Just to admit it, once, to someone, even if that someone is just the version of you I keep in my head.

I keep coming back to this idea that two are better than one because if one falls, the other will lift them up. And yet, here we are. You, me, this strange distance that isn’t really distance. Why are you continuing to volunteer for a situation that repeatedly destabilizes you? I ask because I wonder if part of you knows you don’t have to. If part of you is waiting for permission to step back, to choose something steadier.

I hope we never become so used to each other that we forget how beautiful it is that, out of everyone in this world, we somehow found one another. That line lives in my head more than I’d like to admit. It’s comforting and terrifying in equal measure.

You know how to reach me, and I don't intend to change accounts to check on you but if you're ready and need to talk you know where to find me. I’m not writing this to guilt you or to push. Just to say the door isn’t closed, even if we both pretend it is.

Sometimes I catch myself imagining a version of reality where we got it right. Where timing and courage and all those boring practical things lined up. We could've been great friends. And maybe that’s the real tragedy. Not the romance we didn’t have, but the friendship we didn’t fight hard enough to keep.

Anyway. This is me, putting it down on paper so I can stop carrying it everywhere. So I can stop wondering what would’ve happened if I’d said it sooner, or louder, or not at all.

Take care of yourself. Truly.

xD

To the Person Who Wanted Me to Be Someone Else

Dear You,

I told you the truth. I said plainly that I wasn’t who you thought I was, and you said you understood.

But understanding a fact and letting go of a hope are two different things. I watched you fold that hope quietly back into place, as if my words were only a formality—something you could acknowledge and then set aside.

I don’t think you meant to hurt me. I think you wanted so badly for it to be him that even I couldn’t convince you otherwise.

There’s a strange kind of erasure in being corrected and still being overwritten.

So I let you have your evening. I didn’t bring it up again—not because it didn’t matter, but because I could see you weren’t ready to lose the version of the night where he was real.

I gave you that quietly, without asking for anything in return.

But mine was ruined.

Because I knew something you didn’t want to know yet: I was there. Actually there. Capable of becoming something real with you. And instead, I watched you look past me at someone who had never even entered the room.

We could have been something. Not the fantasy you were reaching for, but something else—something that began with truth instead of mistaken identity.

I’ll never find out now.

That’s what I’m left holding tonight, alone, while you get to keep believing, for one more night, that you found him.

Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?

Dearest ,

I wonder if memory works like gravity for you, too.

If you can be in the middle of a crowded room,

or driving home as the sun goes down,

and suddenly feel the air shift—

as if my thoughts were heavy enough to reach across the dark.

Do I ever cross your mind?

Not as a storm, or a sudden shock,

but as a quiet passing thought.

A phantom echo of a laugh you used to know.

A name that sits on the tip of your tongue

before you shake it off and keep moving.

Because you live in mine so effortlessly.

You show up in the books I read,

the coffee I order,

and the half-finished jokes I still save for you.

I don’t need an answer.

Maybe knowing would break the magic of the question.

I just like to think that somewhere out there,

even for a fraction of a second,

we are thinking of each other at the exact same time.

Not Broken, Just In Progress

You are not required to be okay today. You’re allowed to exist exactly as you are: weird, intense, exhausted, and still trying.

You’re not broken; your body just learned loud survival habits—cling so you don’t get abandoned, then panic when you feel trapped. That’s not failure, it’s history. You’re allowed to rewrite it without calling yourself pathetic.

You are the kind of person who makes friends feel seen, who remembers their weirdness and turns it into art so they don’t feel “too much.” You choose people on purpose, even when you’re not sure how to choose yourself.

You’re tired of asking, “How do I fucking win in life?” but the fact that you’re still asking means you haven’t fully given up. Winning for you might just be disrespectfully small: eating, texting back once, not abandoning yourself the moment someone likes you.

You are not damned; you are in progress. You are not a maybe, not a backup plan. Just by still being here, still wanting something better, you are already someone worth choosing—on purpose, every single time.

For someone I met two days ago who already feels like more.

Pookie, bright little rebel,

wired for punk, metal, soul, and old-school songs,

you were never made for ordinary.

You talk like a thunderstorm in a cute jacket,

shy at first, then unforgettable.

You don't just want people,

you want freedom, movement, someone to run wild with,

someone who understands that loneliness can live in a room

and still look like boredom from the outside.

You are weird in the best way,

smart in too many directions to count,

soft, stubborn, restless, rare.

Not a maybe. Not a backup plan.

Just the one I'd pick, every single time, on purpose.

A favorite stranger turned friend

who makes the world feel louder, funnier, and more alive.

I want to learn things about you that no one has cared enough to get to know you

I want to learn the parts of you that people have overlooked, the thoughts you keep tucked away, and the little details that make you who you are. I want to know the things no one has cared enough to ask, because I believe those things matter.

There is something deeply human about being seen, not just noticed. So if you’re willing, I would love to understand your stories, your softness, your joys, your quiet fears, and the pieces of you that have been waiting for the right person to notice.

You don’t have to be easy to understand for me to want to understand you. I’m not asking because I want a polished version of you; I’m asking because I want the real you.

With care.
