Similar on site jobs?

I recently graduated highschool and want a job like a fire lookout, however I’ve been ridden with many physical ailments like scoliosis and collapsed ankles so I can’t physically meet the requirements for the job.

Are there any jobs similar to a fire lookout that are on site, isolated and are more general maintenance and daily responsibilities. I hate the idea of working a 9 to 5 but do to my issues I doubt I could get a fire lookout job but want something with the same style and workflow.

Any suggestions would be wonderful. Thanks

Career paths that match the votv workflow (0.9)

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I didn’t know what other sub to ask this in. I’ve been struggling picking a career path, but I know the workflow I want to get out of my job, and it is very similar to votv. I like how voices of the voids workflow is just a set of tasks you have to do for the day, and then you get to do whatever else you want.

I know a lot of jobs out there are not at all like this, but I like how it’s similar to that of a fire lookout for a national park. By this I mean the fact that it makes more sense for you to just live on site so you can do the tasks you have to for that day, rather than driving all the way out all the time, if that makes any sense.

Basically I want to know if there’s any jobs where you live on site, have a list of daily tasks you have to do, and then can spend your time doing whatever else you’d like. Similar to the votv daily task system.

Again sorry if this is a stupid question but I do not want to fall into the 9-5 trap for the rest of my life and this is one of the only ways I could see myself enjoying having a job. Thank you all

Jobs similar to a firewatch?

I hate the idea of a 9-5 and I really would prefer not to work one. I’d like to get a job similar to how fire lookouts were. I’ll do my best to try and put my idea of it into words so sorry if it’s a bit confusing.

I like how fire lookouts are stationed in a place not because it needs constant maintenance, but because it makes sense they’re out there for when it does need maintenance rather than going back everytime. Basically I like the idea of do the work when I need to, no matter when and where, but not having to constantly be active. Kind of like how people work on commissions.

Sorry if this is confusing, I’m having trouble putting this in to words, but if anyone understands what I’m trying to say and knows of any jobs like this that’d be appreciated.

Miss peregrines home for peculiar children

Two questions about the movie.

First what happens to Jake’s father. Upon realizing there’s a hollow on the island Jake runs from his father and back to the time loop and then never returns to his father. What happened to his dad after that?

Second how did Jake end up back in 1943. In the movie all he said was he jumped through time loops. But when you exit a time loop you end back up the time you left it. How would he have used this to get back to miss Peregrine and then?

I know there’s a book that the movie adapted so understandably some plot holes but I’m curious because I did like this movie I just can’t get these thoughts out of my head.

Would it be possible to opt in to a unnecessary prosthetic

Hello, I’m 18 male, 260lbs at 6ft tall. I have extremely bad collapsed ankles, flat feet, hyper mobility and scoliosis. I often get chronic pain in my ankles that make it nearly impossible to walk comfortably after standing just for a bit. This question is more about curiosity rather than actual medical advice, but I was wondering if I could ask a doctor or surgeon to replace my legs with prosthetics. Again this is more a curiosity issue on the legality and what not of it, rather than something I plan on doing. Thank you!

How do I deal with wanting to transition even though I can’t

Hello! I am currently a guy but I want to be a girl. Due to my current home life and lack of finances I don’t have the ability to transition even though I really want to. I don’t think I want to have friends start referring to me as a girl because it feels odd with my stature and build. It feels like I’m just impersonating a trans person because I make no attempt to pass. But regardless of that, I still want to transition one day. I just don’t know how to deal with this feeling of want without that feeling of impersonation. Any help on what you guys did during this phase would be much appreciated!
