For one, it expanded New Who beyond from having its Earth stories set entirely in the UK or America.

Yes, New Who had explored other countries prior to 13 (i.e. France in both "The Girl in the Fireplace" and "Vincent and the Doctor", and Italy in both "The Fires of Pompeii" and "The Vampires of Venice", as well as America as mentioned above), but I think 13's era did a good job further exploring other countries like:

1. Near the border of India and Pakistan ("Demons of the Punjab")
2. Norway ("It Takes You Away")
3. Peru, Hong Kong and Madagascar ("Praxeus")
4. Syria ("Can You Hear Me?")
5. Switzerland ("The Haunting of Villa Diodati")
6. Ukraine ("War of the Sontarans")
7. China ("Legend of the Sea Devils")

The closest we've had to New Who exploring another country outside of the UK or America since 13's era is Nigeria in "The Story & the Engine".

My point is, while I understand some fans having frustration with the globe-hopping trope, and I'm not saying the trope saved any issues in 13's era (and this is coming from someone who actually liked 13's era despite its flaws), I think the show should definitely be open to exploring more countries once its out of competitive tender, as there is so much more to explore than just the UK.

What do you think? Please try and be civil though.

And which country do you want to see explored in the future.
