How does tyre wear work in oval indy car races?

Just had the weirdest race ever. Daytona tri-oval spec Indy online multiplayer. The whole field were on hards. I (and pretty much the entire lobby) had to pit half way through because we’re on severely worn tyres, losing traction on the bankings and some even spun out. Yet there were 2 guys that didn’t pit for the whole race and somehow doing 34s laps the whole race and lapped the field by the end of the race. They had no signs of losing traction and they maintained the same lap time pretty much through out the whole race.

How is this possible?

I genuinely don’t understand how T10 fumbled Forza Motorsport 2023 so hard

It is pretty much the only equivalent of GT7 outside of PS5, and frankly, I prefer its handling over GT7’s. Cars feel grounded, the visual and haptic feedback are super intuitive. It may not be the most real but I think it’s the perfect balance between fun and realistic.

Multiplayer spec racing is phenomenal. It’s way more competitive compared to open racing and is just overall more fun. After a few updates the net code became a lot more stable, and holy shit sometimes I’m racing against people on the other side of the world with no obvious feeling of latency. This is some witchcraft bs.

I actually love the graphics. Forza Horizon feels too bright, too saturated. Asseto Corsa and iRacing doesn’t have the same fidelity. Colour grading feels very comfortable, a little on the warmer side but that’s right up my street. Lighting on maps like Fujimi and the environment design in Hakone is downright breathtaking.

But everything else is straight up dog shit!

“CarPG” is pure unnecessary “innovation” bs. Some cars feel absolutely horrible in stock form and tuning is locked behind upgrades that you need to grind for. Thank god they pretty much removed it with purchasable car points.

Single player experience sucks. Mainly because drivatars suck ass. The fact that even single player progression needs to be always-online is just unfathomably wrong. Why would I play the barely any fun single player instead of multiplayer where you can actually get some racing?

Forzatech engine has some serious, serious performance optimisation issues. Both FH5 and FM23 supports FSR and DLSS. Different levels of upscaling on both sides offers barely any performance differences, yet produces very different visual qualities. What is the point of having “performance” upscaling setting when “quality” only cost like 20 FPS?

Turn10, I love you, I love your games, but what the fuck? In some aspects your game is awesome but in others it felt like you don’t even have a QA/game testing department.

Stuffing a 125hz sensor in the MX Master 4 is the most brain dead decision Logitech ever made

Legit one of the biggest complaints people had with Master 2 and 3 was the low poll rate. Instead of giving the master 4 a better sensor, they made it heavier for no reason and stuffed AI bullshit in it for good measure. Oh and hiked the price too.

Thanks Logitech. I will never use your products again. Next pay check coming in to switching to Keychron’s offering, and I hope you completely lose out on the professional market because your offerings had no value whatsoever

It’s super easy to use until you go into the projectile range, then it’s fucked.

My recoil control is horrible so any auto weapon is a no-go. My tracking is ass so semi-auto is a dud. My flick is… meh at best. My left hand control is bad so playing dash is very difficult, so that leaves me with grapple and low-fire rate weapons.

So that pretty much leaves me with the sniper. I do keep ARN for back up but in the end, I’m relegated to a back line support/scout, since as a light I can’t win any fights. Not that light needs buffing, but I just can’t utilise what’s given to light to make them work.

The experience is a mixed bag. A sniper with good positioning is a death sentence to noobs, but only noobs. I’ve gotten so good with catching timing and predicting enemy positioning, it almost looks like I’m cheating. But it only ever works when I’m afar, having a good overview of the fights helped a lot. Once I’m in the frae, I’m dead lol, with any class and weapon. I just can’t win fights up close.

So why do I hate myself? Because sniper is a point-click game. I’m a movement fan. I run the model as medium and sometimes minigun as heavy. Sniper has never appealed to be but it’s the only light weapon I had good experience with (and ARN to a small degree).

I guess if there’s any solace for me, I do help the team with sonar and infuser, at least as much as I can. I’m trying to find more value in gateway but the 40m range nerf really limited its options.

God help me…
