Moving bio2c03 to third year

I’m kinda conflicted on what to do as people say it’s best to have a light semester when taking this course. I’m taking it with lifesci 2l03 in the fall (only hard course).

I did well in bio1a03 but I heard this class is much harder so I’m kinda worried if I should do all birds and this one class in third year?

One night @ the call center by chetan bhagat just why

Heard this book had universal hate so wanted to share my opinion

The ending is what pissed me off the most. The books characterization and plot was actually pretty good at first. Their personal lives and relationships were like detailed ideally lowkey interesting. Until it got to the God calling part it just made no sense. The book was all realistic and suddenly had the most random twist that felt like it was stuck in there because there was no way else to make “crazy” or something.

Also hated Shaym and his ex-gf coming back together story. It felt so corny for an “adult-themed” book, something I expect middle schoolers would do. Also the plan to “save” their company by convincing Americans they had a virus… sounds like some dumb prank. I literally skipped over those pages because I was interested to know what happens to the coworkers more

The ending felt so abrupt it ruined the entire book imo. Everything felt just way too forced to make it fall into “happy ever after” territory.

Academically averaged, is there any hope left?

I’m at a Canadian university entering second year. I got a mediocre 3.5ish/4 gpa. I see everyone else having do many accomplishments, high academic achievements, work, and internships etc.

I feel like I’m so behind. Every immigrant parents kid seems so more accomplished than me.

My friend asked me to make a LinkedIn account and I was like what’s the point? I’m just ordinary, I have no awards, no competitions, no ECs.

Is it reasonable for my parents to expect more or be upset that I kind of lack academic ability

Funny story about clothing repurposing

I was reading somewhere about how someone wanted to take used undergarments and somehow repurpose them instead of throwing them out.

One of the ideas was to stitch them onto jean pockets and holes

And then the reply was “no one wants your dirty underwear as jean pockets”

LOL

How reliable are ikea door deliveries

I placed an order for a bookshelf at the store and the delivery date is said to be Tuesday. The assembly is booked for Friday. Do they usually come on time or are there usually delays

Comparison between first year and second year life science

Courses like bio2c03, life sci 2a03 and lifesci 2l03 how do they compare to first year courses? Are they around the same difficulty or harder/easier?

Is scicomm 2a03 bird?

I’m seeing very conflicting opinions. On Reddit everyone saying it’s a bird class but on RMP when I put the profs name people are saying it’s a tough, disorganized course.

What age do you guys wanna have kids?

I’m thinking of 27-28, so in about 9-10 years from now.

Honestly crazy to think how Gen Z’s are becoming parents already.

The subtle ways people mistreat you because you’re not conventionally attractive…

Just kinda being “invisible” in group settings. No one finds anything striking about you to start conversations.

People don’t really stand up for you. A pretty person doing something wrong is accepted more than an ugly person.

I was there with two of my friends the entire time during an event. Except one of them kept wanting to take pictures with the other who’s more conventionally better looking than me. I was only included in 1 of those pictures and that was a group one.

The “oh no…. Don’t say that, you’re really pretty” bs that I’m not buying. Or the “at least you’re smart”/insert some other backhanded compliment

They just don’t want to “be seen” with you. This one hurts me the most.

Pretty privilege is real.
