Glad to have listened to other people on this sub about getting this particular model when it was restocked. It’s absolutely a banger and has restored some of my lost confidence in the brand after a couple of duds. This is what I’ve come to know and love WD for, amazing quality/watch for the price point. I suspected it would look amazing in a nato strap to give it even more of a lightweight feel and I think it suits it well!
Now if only we got an update about the WD008 clasp they previously pinned and mentioned about before..

Hello friends, with Doom being leaked as a season 11 playable, please indulge in my latest crackpot theory:
Season 11 will serve as a mega reset/retcon for rivals abilities and roles.
Perhaps this is why there is no leaked partner hero for Doom yet, perhaps this is why certain heroes are not getting the rightful nerfs and buffs they deserve/need. Season 11 will drop and it will be a major reshuffling of roles and ability reworks. Imagine the sheer awesomeness/chaos that will ensue if Netease manages to pull this off- it will be kind of unheard off and what’s more marvel-esque than essentially pullling off a mega retcon on a storyline? Perhaps Doom will finally do something with all of that chronovium mumbo jumbo and actually cause a meta-reason for devs to shift and rework the current roster to other things? Imagine Jean finally having telekinetic powers, imagine Wolverine turning into a brawl tank, etc etc how awesome would that be?

Planning to finally pull the trigger on an Islander watch but I am at a loss which to get with all of the amazing options. I want your opinion in weighing in appearance vs specs vs cost as I have narrowed down to these final 6 options I am having trouble choosing between.
Except for the harpoon diver and bayport which I like for purely aesthetic reasons (also I don’t have a watch of this design/colour scheme), they are all fulfilling a need in my collection. A dress watch (Astoria), a field/beater watch (Babylon), or a GMT (Melville or JFK).
Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts especially if you own one of these and why you have come to love/like them.

Had the gold CNC and loved that a lot so now I copped myself the rose gold since i wanted something a bit different-flashy.
Now that everyone of those 40 people got theirs, I wanna see what y’all think of switching up the strap since I’m usually not a huge fan of metal bracelets on dressier watches. I tried some possible combos from the straps I have below. What do you think? What are you a fan of? Suggestions?

I like both styles and the watches they’re homaging… I haven’t had a ranger style watch but I’ve seen people request a fully lumed dial and issues about mismatched lume. Meanwhile the green and white combo is absolutely sick and would partner well with some outfit and shoes I have. Haven’t had a snowflake dial yet either. Both are different enough from each other in style but are also both workable for me as an occasional wear.
What do you think?

With no expectations to recoup the potential loss, I brought it up with him and sent him photos and a video to show I wasn’t making stuff up. I don’t know how closely related these u1 sellers are from each other but I haven’t had this kind of amazing service from my experience with other sellers. To me, that puts Lena above the rest (not to mention how he price matched an ongoing offer by one of the other sellers on a different watch order). If you’re looking to get a u1 tier watch and can’t decide who to get it from, I’d go to Lena.

Just wanted to share the great experience I’ve had with TD James from Alternative luxury.
Saw his promos over TG, contacted him via WA, he responded practically in a few minutes, I asked about the rhodium dial YM I was interested in and he sent through the QC photos same day (he doesn’t f around when he says stocked and ready to ship unlike some other TDs I’ve dealt with..)
I assume he’s done his own level of QC on the watches he’s selling because I could not fault the watch he sent photos of (would love confirmation of this if he reads this post). I think if he does, that adds a layer of trust and reliability I have on him. I hate how sometimes you get the impression that other TDs are passing on RL’ed watches to you when they do a “great deal/promo.” I didn’t get that vibe from James.
The watch took 2 weeks to arrive to my country and he even checked in on me after the first week unprompted to make sure the watch is coming along customs and delivery as intended.
The watch is now on my wrist and being worn and enjoyed thoroughly. I know these YM bezels are infamous for being a fingerprint magnet so I applied a bit of ceramic coating spray on it and it has worked wonders. I am really happy with my purchase so far. You can count the number of TDs that provide this level of great comms and service in one hand and I hope he continues this level of care and service to his customers. I think I’ll place my next order with him soon…
I ordered a U1 Milgauss some time ago and today I decided to oil the rotor on the watch to make it less noisy. Surprised to find this when I opened the caseback. I usually order miyota 8215 movements but I know for this one I got the Mingzhu 2813 option.
Do they replicate the 3235 movement and engraving to this degree normally on a u1 or did I get lucky? I thought the 2813 copied miyota movement? Untrained eye here so I can’t really tell what I have aside from what’s written on the rotor… googling Milgauss movement suggests this isn’t accurate either…. I’m confused at what movement my watch actually has. Anyone know?
It’s only been out for a few weeks(?) but I’m curious to know if anyone has firsthand experience comparing the new VSF v2 36mm Datejust?
The ads about it say the major improvements were with the weight of the watch now being similar to gen and the “platinum plating process” that’s meant to improve and imitate the look of the gen bezel and avoid fading/oxidation.
Edit: on another forum, I’ve gone on a discussion whether or not the lug shape have also improved (similar to new 5W series for 41mm VSF DJ). I’ve included comparisons. What do you think?

Date Wheel: I believe this is as good as it gets with vsf, the alignment is within tolerance, I feel.. but this is where I would appreciate a discerning eye from an expert! Help appreciated

Bezel: I believe this is the main improvement of the 36mm dj v1 over v2 as it follows the same iteration improvements for the 41mm model. I think it is better but hard to say unless you have the v1 vs v2 on hand
SEL: tight as it can be! Very happy with this
Timegrapher numbers: It checks out, I believe
Anything else you notice: rehaut alignment is great. Serial numbers check out on the watch and clasp.
I feel like I have been shown an excellent specimen and I am inclined to GL. Slight backstory in the comments about how great of a TD Leo has been with me. I appreciate everyone’s input.
