Help with Elden Ring

Been doing Elden ring while my friend does Minecraft. I know there's still a ton of issues but I've been running smoothly until today. It still plays fine it's just now today when I boot into the game and grab an item off the ground I get both the vanilla item that's supposed to be in that location and the randomized item that got placed there from archipelago. Any ideas why it suddenly started doing this and/or a fix?

Edit: teleporting to roundtable then back to where I was solved the issue. Must have needed a full reload of the area.

Are you a person that constantly goes to different objectives or do you pick 1 or a few objectives to defend with your life?

Personally I'm someone that sticks to a couple objectives. Mainly referring to conquest but any locations close to the ones I say also are for escalation. Some examples I have are:

- contaminated: I like to stick to C mainly but go to B and E if not a lot is going on around C.

- Golmud: I stick to F mainly but go to D and E if they need help.

- Siege of Cairo: again I stick to C mainly. Specifically in the building on the pax side. But I'll go to B and E if they need help.

- New Sobek: I stick pretty much exclusively to D (escalation) or B (conquest).

I hate that Meta has a monopoly on affordable VR headsets.

Just a small rant. I want to get a new VR headset as I'm still using the OG HTC Vive as I'd like to get one with less of a screen door effect or none at all and the only affordable VR headset is the Meta Quest 3. I hate all things Meta so I refuse to buy one. Sure I could get a used one but all the ones I've seen are either missing stuff, have incompatible base stations, or have absurd shipping costs making the cheaper price pointless. Here's hoping the Steam Frame's rumored price is true as it won't be much more than a meta quest then.

Am I the only one that thinks that if you guide the rocket into the back of a tank with the aim guided launcher but are off to the side you should still get a weak point hit?

For example you can look at my S tier artistic talent of a diagram. I'll be standing at a 45 degree angle from the back corner of a tank and shoot the launcher off to the right a bit then aim it left so it arcs into the back of the tank nearly straight on but still only 200 damage. I feel like that should be a thing seeing as it's aim guided.

Edit: apparently you can and I'm just bad. Leaving up so y'all can enjoy my $200 artwork.

Why TF are the load times so long?

You'd think this would be an issue of times past but no, here I am twiddling my thumbs while levels take 5 business days to load. I timed it and it took a solid TWO MINUTES to load into a level.

Loving the game though.

Give me your leveredge builds. Everything secondary, spells, upgrades.

I want to switch it up from the shotgun build I have going and want to do the leveredge.

What are the new voodoo combos?

I know there is drain + corruption but are there any more aside from the ones that existed pre update (like decoyo and mino becoming corruption bombs or ritual duplicating on all nearby cactus minions)

How much would I lose out on if I switch to Linux? Specifically SteamOS.

Yeah yeah Windows bad but that's what I've used ever since I could control a mouse. But recently I've been dipping into SteamOS through my steam deck and I've a got a little itty bitty tiny hang of the basic things. I have an old SSD I was thinking of throwing Linux on to either scarp together a PC with old parts or to dual boot but unsure what version to get. I was probably just gonna do steamOS since that's what I have technically used so far so it would be a tiny bit more familiar. So my question is if I did that what functionality or QOL or other things would I potentially miss out on from windows if I made a full switch?

Any game like Dead Nation?

If you don't know it the game is a top down zombie horde shooter exclusive to Sony. Pretty simple game overall with its gameplay and such. Work your way through the level earning score and money. Occasionally find an upgrade station to get new weapons or upgrade weapons. Find armor hidden in the game that can change your stats like more health, faster, etc... I loved dead nation when it first came out and have wanted something similar for quite some time. A guilty pleasure game really. My dad also LOVES the game and I'd like to get him a game that's pretty similar.

Basically the requirements are:

- top down / isometric

- zombies or other horde enemy and minimal shooting back.

- level based preferably not roguelite.

What are some "must have" enhancements for you?

Like ones you take every class regardless of what your building for. Personally so far I've been taking extra ammo, sweet tooth, and the sprint speed boost after running for so many seconds on everyone.

New spell type idea: Water/Ice

So I was thinking water/ice would be a good one. Idk if just ice or a mix of ice and water would work better but some spells I was thinking were:

(In no particular unlock order)

Snowball/icicle - simple. You throw a ball of snow or a sharp icicle that hurts and freezes small enemies and slows larger ones. Has a small AOE so it could hit 2 or 3 enemies close together. Leaves a frost puddle/ice patch on the ground if it hits the ground. If it's frost it could slow enemies that walk over it and if it's ice it can make them slip. 25 second cooldown.

Blizzard - starts a large AOE blizzard similar to acid's rain. Slows any enemy in range and freezes small ones periodically. Enemies take freeze damage if frozen. 100 second cooldown

Snowman - summons a snowman that charges forward dealing 20 damage to enemies it hits. Leaves a frost/ice patch behind it. If it hits an enemy that doesn't die from the damage the snowman "breaks" into 3 large snow balls that create a frost explosion when they hit the ground. If the snowman reaches the limit of its forward movement it'll also break into the 3 snowballs. 45 second cooldown

Ice rink - makes a large AOE ice rink around the player adding ice mechanics like far far north. Enemies get slowed when on it. Makes icicles on the ice to damage enemies as well. 60 second cooldown

Ice skates - starts creating ice below the players feet allowing them to skate around like on the ice on far far north. The ice grows icicles similar to ice rink. Enemies are slowed on it and take damage from the icicles. 65 second cooldown

Some combos for it:

any frost puddles + fire damage creates a steam cloud. steam burns enemies and makes them lose aggro when inside the steam cloud.

Blizzard + surge turns the blizzard into a pyroclastic esque storm of steam and lightning.

Any ice hitting most cactus stuff buffs it with ice attacks. Bandito turns into a yeti.

Ice rink and ice skates lingering ice area getting hit with fire causes it to turn to steam. Ice rink will re cool the steam causing enemies inside to flash freeze.

Snowman hitting fire puddles will cause him to break into his snowballs.

Acid puddles will explode into frost explosions.

Geyser + frost puddles will make the geyser blow out snow balls periodically making more frost puddles if they hit the ground or damaging and slowing enemies.

Blizzard + rain floods the area with a layer of acidic water. Basically a giant acid puddle. igniting the super puddle with surge or fire beam makes a nuke esque sized explosion. Doesn't do as much damage as a nuke but still has the big knockback of a nuke.

Ice rink + strike or thunder strike turns icerink into a cyclone. A large non moving tornado essentially with high winds creating an impenetrable wall of lightning and wind.

Snowman would be duplicated with portal.

Ice skates + running into an electric puddle boosts your movement speed and adds lightning to your ice path.

Boing + ice skates would be like walking into an electric puddle.

Electric puddles + frost puddles makes puddles that shoot out frozen lightning. Like a shrapnel bomb.

Voodoo on snowman will make him spawn candles whenever he hits an enemy.

Ritual + ice rink increases the size of ritual to the size of icerink.

Snowman + electric puddles would increase his speed and damage on contact.

Is their a max amount of joker slots you can unlock with prestiging?

I just prestiged my character for the first time and I see you have a limit of 2 per prestige but I'm referring to the total you can do across multiple prestiges can you just keep unlocking more until you hit the prestige cap or is it like x amount?

Kinda wish corrupted enemies drew aggro.

Makes sense though I guess. Would make decoyo obsolete. Unless maybe it was a combo you could do. Acid covered enemies when corrupted "stink" or something and draw aggro.
