Is it better to buy a smaller place and get into the market sooner, or wait longer for something bigger?

I can see the appeal of getting your foot in the door, but there’s also the risk of outgrowing the place sooner than expected. Keen to hear from people who actually went down the smaller-home route and how it worked out for them.

What’s the most annoying part of month end?

The actual accounting isn’t always the annoying part. It’s the chasing, waiting for someone to send through an invoice, fixing something that was entered weeks ago, or getting that one last file you’ve been asking for all day. Month end has a way of turning a simple job into a much longer one.

Do you actually check every line on your payslip?

I used to just look at the amount that landed in my account and move on. Recently started going through the whole payslip properly and realised there are quite a few things I normally ignore, especially the leave balance, tax and super lines. Now I'm wondering how many people actually sit down and check the whole thing each pay or just make sure the final amount looks right.

How do you handle 2FA for services that insist on a phone number?

I’m trying to lock down my digital footprint, but I keep running into brick walls with services requiring SMS verification. I hate giving out my actual SIM number. What’s everyone's current workaround? Are you using VoIP numbers like VOIP.ms, burner SIMs, or just biting the bullet and avoiding those services entirely?

What’s your favourite Amex offer or perk you’re using right now?

For me, it’s probably the Shop Small credits whenever they pop up. It’s not the flashiest perk, but I get real value from it because I use local cafes and smaller businesses fairly often anyway. It’s one of the few Amex offers that feels useful in day to day life rather than something I have to go out of my way to use.

Is it better to focus on one or two platforms or spread across a bunch?

I’ve tried juggling a few apps but it feels messy and inconsistent. Wondering if people here stick to one main thing or just rotate depending on promos

What suburbs are realistic for a student budget if CBD prices are out of the question?

My brother is planning to pursue his studies at UTS and we're trying to figure out off campus sharehouses. If he wants a decent commute (ideally under 30 minutes on the train or light rail straight into Central), what suburbs should we actually be targeting on Flatmates that won't absolutely drain his bank account? Is it better to look in the inner west or head further out along the T4 line?

Ever since Google and Bing moved to 100% "AI Synthesis" results this year, the tracking has become way more invasive. They aren't just tracking clicks anymore; they’re tracking "cognitive intent" through the way we refine prompts in the search bar. I’ve been testing Mullvad Browser vs. LibreWolf this week. Has anyone found a reliable extension or uBlock Origin filter that successfully "blinds" the AI model from training on your real-time search queries without breaking the results?
