Season 5 - Back to School (wishful thinking)
I’m predicting (more like just wishing) that the theme for Season 5 will be “Back to School” and we will get a new city map across the bridge of a school/university. Hopefully a full city or suburb that houses a university, or something similar. They could do a big Back to School event, release “bookbag” accessories in the store.
What are your predictions/wish list for season 5?
Hamilton Masterpiece - junk store $5 find
Found this is a junk shop today for $5. New battery brought it back to life. Not the most valuable watch I’ve found, but perhaps the cheapest!

Going against the flow.
With all the Royal Pop posts, do we still have any love left for the Blancpain x Swatch?
Custard vs Ice Cream?
In my region (Southern New Jersey), custard stands are much more common than ice cream stands. Yes, they serve both frozen custard and ice cream, but they are all called “custard” something.
Blinker Custard.
Custard Corral.
Custard Hut.
Flipper’s Custard.
General Custard’s Last Stand.
Hudocks Custard.
Kohr Bros Custard.
Custard Castle.
Just to name a few, lol. But when I’ve traveled to other parts of the US, frozen custard isn’t really a thing, and its closest relative is soft serve ice cream. So I’m just wondering if there are any other “custard” enclaves in the US, where you go “out for custard” instead of “out for ice cream”?
Decision time…
I have been collecting random “parts” Swiss 17j watches in hopes of repairing them and keeping or selling functional watches. I finally have all the parts to put together a very nice watch in this style. But now I have to decide which dial to use in the first complete watch. So, any opinions on any of these? I’m kind of partial to the Arnex and the Northfield, but the Stabilis is in the best condition, and still has bright lume. Opinions?
Petition to make today's Market Mile community park permanent!
YOOOO... Today's (5/2 - season 4 opening day) community park at Market Mile is BY FAR the best they've ever had there. This is the one that's usually the lame parkour parks that I never bothered checking.
Honestly, I like it better than the stadium.
Is the adjective use of “myriad” a recent phenomenon?
I have always heard the term in its noun usage, “there are a myriad of ways”. But over the past 10 or so years, I hear it more commonly as an adjective, “there are myriad ways”. I know it means the same thing essentially, but is this a newer usage, or just one I wasn’t exposed to much? It kind of irks me when I hear it, even though I know it’s one correct way to use it.

I think Season 4 will be a “lite” season
I’m looking at all the new features, events, and map changes, and (to me at least) it looks like S4 will be a “lite” season. I’m not disappointed with that. It’ll probably still be solid, but I was WAY more hyped for S3, with Grom, the Nike SB event, and the Zexy challenges. The stadium looks ok. Finger flips are not exciting for me. I don’t care about spot battles. No real map expansion. I’m excited about the new brands coming in, and maybe some of the minor improvements.
This is not a complaint though. For me, S3 was huge, and I think S5 will be huge with a new map (across the bridge or Skate 2/3 maps?) S4 is just looking to be a solid step forward, but not earth shattering. I mean, I’ll complete the skate.pass for sure, and I’ll have fun doing it.
Any one else feeling the same way?
Belief is a God is analogous to belief in Santa Claus.
Belief in God as the basis for religion is analogous (and functionally the same) as belief in Santa Claus.
This isn’t intended to be derogatory or insulting, nor is it intended to call believers childish or stupid.
While many adherents to religion would consider the first belief perfectly rational and reasonable, and the second childish and immature, I posit that the framework, rationale, and arguments in favor of each are the same.
• They are both beneficial to the behavioral outcomes of the believer
• They both rely on faith in what has been taught, without verifiable evidence
• They both rely heavily on tradition and the belief (real or perceived) of others
• They both rely on a belief in miracles/magic
• They are both reinforced by apparent signs and evidence that can be better explained naturalistically
Again, this isn’t intended to insult believers as being childish. But I do think that beyond the initial insulting recoil to the comparison, there is validity to the claim.
What weaknesses do you see in this argument?
