I chose not to masturbate today evening

This is very uncomfortable to post but I'll do it anyway. I did do it in the morning right after I woke up. At around 5pm, my local time I got the urge to do it again because I was restless and had no mood to do my work. Instead, I went for a half a hour walk through nature and actually returned to complete my work. I'm actually proud but it's only one small step and time will tell.

How do you overcome lust?

Recently I (27M) realized that you are what you do the most. In other words if you're someone who spends most of your days worrying, then you're a worrier. If you're someone who spends most of the time teaching you're a teacher, etc. So, I asked myself what do I do most and the answer was disappointing. I'm a wanker. I jerk off about 2-3 times a day, some of those 'sessions' last maybe an hour and I do work in between them. It's my coping mechanism, my outlet for stress, anxiety in life. However, it got me worried because I don't want to look back at life thinking I had all those hours and I chose to spend it jerking off.

I do jerk off to porn but tbh I found pictures to be more sexy (think Playboy) and I've always tricked myself into thinking that as long as it's not porn video it's fine. I've realized that if I actually overcome lust I would actually become unstoppable as I do have the ability to get things going for me but my lust pulls me back so much

Wife is not sexually attracted to me

I've been married for 4 years and we're both 43 but our sex life sucks (at least for me). I try setting up the mood and doing date nights, but everytime sex is brought up she declines often because she's tired, sleepy or just not in the mood. However, I've noticed whenever she watches one of her shows with hot young guys in it, she gets interested in sex. The worst part is the sex doesn't feel great to me. I feel like a sex toy for her to get off to. I've started to get insecure and compare myself with those guys from the Euphoria, Off Campus or Korean shows. I'm all fine for her admiring those men and finding them hot but there's no attraction towards me. I am reasonably fit, have great hygiene, try to keep the romance alive. When I bring this up she brushes it off. The last place I want to go to with my personal problems is the internet but is there anything I could do to maybe become like those guys or try to be sexy for my wife?

How Do I Get Rid Of Being Paralyzed By Fear?

For context I'm a PhD student (Field: Organic chemistry) who will be attending my qualifying exam in 11 months or so. I'm paralyzed by fear because my progress is slow and I need results for my exam. I already know a 3rd year PhD student who was terminated from his PhD. All of this is weighing on me and I find it hard to even move without panicking and it's affecting my work. Granted my situation might be different from other's but can anyone who has gone through similar feelings help me?

How to get over breakup?

I (26M) found out my girlfriend was cheating on me and was talking to other guys on social media. I was studying abroad and was away from her but we used to video chat everyday but I realized she started distancing herself and eventually I caught her texting other guys on Instagram and even wearing expensive gifts from them. She even threw away the watch I gifted for her on our anniversary saying it was too 'poor'. I used to work overtime to afford that. 7am-11pm, 6 days a week. I'm lonely abroad, with nobody to turn to. I'm no longer following her on social media but my friend said she's posting some weird sexual stuff with some guy on her stories and people are thinking it's me because the guy's face is hidden. This just makes me feel more insecure about myself and whether I not being able to satisfy her sexually due to the distance made her cheat on me. She's also apparently posting some dating stuff like dating for potential or bare minimum or provider mindset stuff on Instagram. Which makes me feel that she perhaps she broke up with me because I'm poor and still not stable in life. I didn't tell my parents about this because I don't want to burden them.

Dean Stark for small scale reactions

I'm currently running a small scale scale reaction for protecting an aldehyde. Approx 20 - 30mg scale. The literature asks to set up a Dean-Stark water separator. Does it makes sense for such a small set-up? Thank you

Is This Coupling Reaction Possible?

Greetings, I just wanted to ask if such a coupling reaction is possible? Would Buchwald-Hartwig reaction work?

Is it possible to create this molecule from this coupling? Would Buchwald Hartwig work?

Is This Coupling Reaction Possible?

Greetings, I just wanted to ask of such a reaction is possible. I want to bond the nitrogen on the ring with F on the isoquinoline and not the amine group. Could standard Buchwald-Hartwig work?

Hi, I'm new to H-nmr and wanted some help Interpreting the H-nmr of this compound. I was expecting to see two peaks at the aromatic region but see three instead. Also, the splitting of the peaks seem off, is it due to coupling with F? Is it this compound. Thank you
