Why is Dr Doom Leaping Out of the Titans Tower? 🤔

How Flawed Should Zatanna Be?

Do you see her as ultimately a good person who occasionally makes a mistake but it's usually because of good intentions? Someone who immediately feels guilty if she used her powers on someone because she was annoyed or on a whim?

Or do you see her as someone who is light but has a bit of a dark side and takes pleasure in her power by transforming people into animals and objects on a whim? Someone who could easily end up being a villain?

Is Perez WW Very Latina Coded?

Just something I have been wondering at the back of my head for a while now.

Does WW have a resonance with Latino / Hispanic communities?

Some of the biggest WW fans I have come across online have been hispanic / latino. Lynda Carter is also of Hispanic + Latino ancestory.

[Discussion] Which Characters are more interesting when written by someone who hates them and which characters are less interesting when written by someone who loves them?

Inspired by this post from fredericwertham on Tumblr.

I feel like Tom Taylor fits into the latter category. I have no doubt he loves Nightwing, Batman, Green Arrow and Black Canary and I understand why he wants to play it safe after Injustice. But I still find his writing to be bland and uinteresting.

Jim Starlin with Jason Todd is the opposite. Starlin hated Robin and wanted to kill off the character and there are people who give him shit for it to this day. But aside from Barr/Davis 'Tec stuff, all the memorable Jason Todd stories from his Robin era came from Jim Starlin. Jason being the disobedient, angry, rebellious Robin who may or may not have killed that diplomat all came from Jim Starlin's profound dislike for the Robin concept.

Pitch Your Idea For a Solo Black Canary Project (Show/Movie)

A solo show so an ensemble series like Birds of Prey is out of the equation so is a 'Green Arrow & Black Canary' show or movie.

Be as original and as creative as possible while staying true to the character.

Live Action TV Show: 40's set prequel with Dinah Drake and Larry Lance

Synopsis: After being rejected for the job of police officer and the subsequent murder of her father plus mentor Detective Richard Drake, Dinah Drake dons the identity of Black Canary to infiltrate the criminal underworld and expose the links between the mob and police officers all the while pretending to be a florist in her day to day life. To complicate matters, her fathers old partner, Larry Lance has decided to set up shop in the same building as a private investigator.

This is an idea that has been going around in my head since reading Secret Origins Vol 2 #50 DC Super Series #10 (1978) as well Black Canary and Larry Lance's team ups with Starman / Ted Knight in the 1950s.

I'm imagining a show that feels a bit like Agent Carter and also a gender flipped version of superhero story. Dinah Drake is the superhero who keeps their identity secret from Larry Lance who serves as the love interest but is not quite as competent as a detective as Dinah Drake is.

In the comics, Richard Drake died on natural causes but I think it would be more interesting if he was murdered by corrupt cops and politicians which justifies Black Canary's drive towards becoming a vigilante.

Animated TV Show: Tween targeted show starring a teenage Black Canary / Dinah Laurel Lance in the style of shows like 'The Life & Times of Juniper Lee', 'Kim Possible' and 'Danny Phantom'.

This is something I've been wanting to see explored since reading Secret Origins #50; the concept of a child who is not just the daughter of a superhero but also having been raised by all these superheroes who, though no related by blood, are like your uncles and aunts. Imagine your childhood involved being taken on flights by Green Lantern, Starman taking you to space, Hawkman teaching you to wield weapons, Wildcat teaching you to fight, etc. Can a person raised under those condition, ever hope to live a normal life? How would ordinary life appear to such a person? What would their morals be? How would they react if they learned their beloved idols did something wrong? How would they see the villains in their life? What would their morals be?

Mark Waid lightly touched upon the idea in JLA: Year One and Black Canary: Ignite dealt with the idea as well but imo, the concept has yet to be explored in a truly fulfilling way.

I'm glad us DCAU Fans are just Vibing & not Whining about Random Bullshit

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm bombed. Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker bombed. Yet, to majority of fans, the box office is merely an afterthought. All the matters is that we enjoyed the movie.

The DCAU is not perfect but we are also not picking apart every single detail until it feels as though the whole thing has come undone and I consider myself lucky to have grown up watching it in an era where shows and movies weren't so tied to social media and I could just sit with my thoughts for a while plus watching each show and movie as they came out instead of getting caught up in the pre release hype. You don't hear about actors or creators being harassed or constantly dogged on social media (at least not to the same extent) and you don't have entire hate campaigns dedicated to tearing it down. This isn't to say the fandom is perfect but it feels small compared to certain another fandom segments.

Anyway, this is me just venting. MODS, feel free to delete this if you think this doesn't fit the sub or whatever.

What would a Zatanna/Vixen Team Up Be Like?

They were friends in JL Detroit and in the Meltzer/McDuffie era JLA but I don't think we've had a memorable Zatanna / Vixen story like we've had for Zee/WW and Zee/BC. Which is a shame because the two characters have a lot in common.

How would you do a team up story involving the two?

They did a Good Job Casting Young Maggie Murdock

Not sure why we needed an extended flashback to her past escapede with Mysterio but it was fun nonetheless and young Maggie was gorgeous.

Who is your favourite canonically dead character?

Inspired by a similar post on the One Piece sub (SPOILERS).

The only rule is that we have to have seen the character die. The camera cuttingbaway as they face their impending doom then back to showing their dead body or a character being in an inescapable deadly situation and not being seen afterwards also counts.

Feel free to talk about Tuckerverse, Weisman verse or DCAMU as well.

Who is your favourite canonically dead character?

Inspired by a similar post on the One Piece sub (SPOILERS).

I thiught about including some pictures but funnily enough a lot of dead characters are alive again (like Boomerang Jr).

The only rule is the character is dead in the **main** DC timeline.

Favourite Bruce Wayne Design?

Mine are:

Batman: TAS design by Bruce Timm, Jim Lee, Norm Breyfogle, Jim Aparo, and Dan Mora.

I like when Bruce Wayne's appearance contrasts with Batmans. Softer eyes, sharp eyebrows, hair parted to the side with some follicles falling on his forehead. Occassionally you will see Batman peaking out of the unmasked Bruce Wayne. I don't like it when artists make Bruce Wayne's features too harsh as if he is Batman even without the cowl. IMO, Bruce Wayne shouldn't look intimidating at first glance.

When I was a kid just getting into Batman cokics I used to flip through issues to see how the artist drew Bruce Wayne.
