Buying syringes

I may have to buy some syringes since I am taking a bit less than what was prescribed originally and I’m titrating a little slower. I am about 3 syringes short. This is a pic of the current syringe that was included in my Apothocary shipment. What is the description of the syringe pictured and best place to buy some extra? I want to make sure it’s exactly the same for dose purposes obviously.

Isolate protein and kidney issues

My daughter is a dietician and she was home this weekend and looking in my pantry and raised concerns with me with the protein powders I had (Oath Clear Protein, sparking protein drinks) and fairlife protein drinks. Are there any doctors, specifically nephrologists in this sub that can comment on that? I try to get my protein mostly sourced through whole foods, but sometimes I do have difficulty getting to 100 grams without supplementing with one of these drinks.

I ask because I do have hypertension that I have had since I was a teenager (hereditary, acquired when I didn’t have weight issues) that is managed very well with medication. I know blood pressure can put pressure on kidney function and with isolate protein thrown in the mix, I’m paranoid.

If there is anyone in the medical field with expertise I’d love some input about this issue.

Lots of excess in my Apothocary vial

I am new to injections and I just took my 6th injection with Apothacary. I read that the medicine is no good after 28 days from the first puncture of the seal? The last 2 weeks I used that vial for my doses- there is quite a bit in there since I’m dosing a little less then what was prescribed. Anyone else on Apothocary going beyond 4 shots in their vial? This stuff is expensive and I don’t want to waste it, but I also don’t want to be putting something g ineffective in my body.

Not enough in the vial for my dose

I am due to draw 34 units (6 ml) for my dose this morning. I have about 24 in my vial. This is probably a dumb question, but can I draw the other 10 units from my 2nd full vial in the same needle? Or do I have to do another brand new needle? And if I have to do 2 separate shots, can they be in the same area? Or do I do a different one?

I think it’s starting to click!

I took my 5th injection on Saturday. I moved to 6 mg, after a month of 5 mg. With no side effects, no hunger suppression and no weight loss. Came from the highest dose of Wegovy pill.

On Sunday I noticed a definite appetite suppression. No bad side effects at all. I peaked at the scale this morning and I am down 1.9 lbs!!! People! The scale has not moved for me since May!!!! Since May!

I may be early in singing the praises but maybe it’s starting to work? 🙏🏻😀

And of course, I’m using Apothecary. I have 2 more vials of it, but I guess I’ll have to pivot?

Recommendations for a decent but quick dinner before a 7:00 show

Coming into NYC next Wednesday. Staying through Thursday. Have Book of Mormon tickets (Eugene O’Neil theatre) for Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm. Our train gets into NYC around 4:15ish and our hotel is on 39th street. Can anyone recommend a place for dinner prior to the show. Not ridiculously expensive, gonna be pressed for time I’m thinking and a place we can maybe easily get a reservation or walk into.

Diarrhea returning. 😭😭

Update: IT STOPPED!! 😅

I took my 4th injection of Tirzepitide this past weekend. (Apothecary 5.0 mg) I came from the highest dose of the Wegovy Pill. I switched because Wegovy gave me horrible side effects (diarrhea for 7 weeks straight, sulphuric burps and no weight loss for 3 months). When I first started the Tirzepatide, I had a little constipation, but managed that quickly and had successful daily BMs. Diarrhea started up 3 days ago, just like with Wegovy. It’s happening all in the morning, but 3-4 episodes. Also of note is I have not had any weight loss yet. I really want this work, but the diareaha has me concerned as this is why I stopped sema. Any suggestions, ideas?

Appetite suppression on the 6th day?

I took my 3rd dose of Trizepitide on July 20th. (5.0 mg - but I came from the highest dose of the wegovy pill) Since starting Tirz I have no side effects or appetite suppression. No weight loss either. However, yesterday, one day before my 4th injection I had appetite suppression for the first time. I did not want to eat and food sort of disgusted me. I thought it was weird that I would feel that for the first time the day before the next injection. I thought it wears off as you go though the week.

Journey from Wegovy to Tirzepatide

If you have gone from the highest dose of semaglutide to starting Tirzepatide, what dose gave you appetite suppression and removal of food noise? I previously lost about 20 lbs on the Wegovy pill. I did my 3rd shot this morning of 5 mg and so far absolutely nothing. No side effects, no appetite suppression, food noise present. I am being extremely diligent to maintain my calorie, protein and fiber targets, continuing to strength train and ride my peloton and increased my water. However, I am working hard to do this and willing myself to got give into temptation. I have gained a pound each week so far.

If you had a similar journey can you share when the Tirz started working for you? I know it’s important to not go high with starting out.

Cozumel Recommendations?

Any recommendations for things to do in Cozumel? We are going to book an excursion through Viator, as we heard just walking around the port is kinda boring. We don’t want anything overly physical or challenging. We are a couple in our mid fifties. Not looking for a super long excursion..maybe 3-6 hours total.

Killing some time in Miami?

We are cruising next week from Miami and our flight gets in very early Monday morning around 8:30 am. Someone mentioned that if we go to the cruise terminal that we can check our bags early and then take a trolley to the Biscayne shopping center? How does this work? Looking for a place to hang, walk around a little and get breakfast before our 2:45 boarding time.

Waiting for it to work

I switched to Tirz on July 3rd after 6 months on the Wegovy Pill. I was on Wegovy for 6 months and lost 19 lbs. I lost only 3 lbs in my final 3 months of Wegovy at the highest 25 mg dosage. It came along with awful side effects including 7 weeks of chronic diareaha and sulphuric burps that literally almost made my family move out.

When switching to Tirz, the doctor advised to start with 5 mg for a month and move to 7.5 after that if I need to. The good news is my side effects from Sema have disappeared completely. Such a relief. I feel like myself again. My first week I did a 2.5 injection cause I was scared and it did nothing. No hunger suppression, food noise coming back. 2 days ago i did the 5.0 that the doctor prescribed and same results (no food suppression at all and noise is coming back). I have not lost weight. Actually up 1.3 lbs which I’m not overly concerned about. I’m staying in a calorie deficit, focusing on protein, fiber, weight bearing exercise and water.

Could I be a non responder, especially since I didn’t respond the last 3 months on Wegovy? Or is it because I came from such a high dose of sema and it’s going to take a while to get to a spot where Tirz starts to do its thing?

Probably TMI, but here I go.

Absolutely crazy. I went off the Wegovy pill on 6/29 to switch to Tirz (my first shot was 7/5). I had minimal weight loss with Wegovy and the side effects were wicked. I had chronic diarrhea for 7 weeks straight and sulphuric burps that were sending my family running for safe haven.

Within 3 days of stopping Wegovy the diarrhea stopped. Just stopped. And no more burps. However, now I’m dealing with the opposite. Constipation. I’m only on my 3rd day of no 💩 but want to be proactive here. I started fiber gummies at night and 2 tsps of miralax in my morning coffee. Any other tips to get things moving?

Make it make sense!

I recently transitioned to Tirzepatide from the Wegovy Pill. I took my first shot yesterday. I did 2.5 in caution of being my first dose coming from the highest dose of Wegovy. I was told I could start at 5.0 or 7.5, but wanted to see how I would react (no side effects at all so far)

I woke up this morning and I was 4.8 pounds up from the previous day. I understand all about weight fluctuations, but this huge bump I can’t wrap my head around. I previously lost 19 lbs with Wegovy.Almost 5 lbs overnight? 25% of what I lost in 6 months over night? I ate no different yesterday (ate about 1240 calories) had a nice walk, drank sufficient water. The only difference was my first shot of Tirzepatide. What am I missing?
