Ive owned this tablet for years now with little to no issues.
At so point last year it updated to Android 14 / ZUI 16 via a normal software update and I didn’t think much of it.. just seemed to work as usual.

Yesterday I went to watch some Netflix and the quality was poor.. turns out Netflix sees the device as L3 on Widevine
DRM info sees it as L1, as do the other streamers as they allow HD video.

I’ve tried all sorts to fix it, deleting Netflix cache, deleting Netflix and reinstalling.
I even tried a factory reset and the issue persists.

At this point, other than me essentially hacking open the device to fix (which ironically makes it less secure) there is nothing more I can do.

The fix relies on Lenovo getting the ZUI ROM certified with Netflix and as as this tablet seems to be out of support, I doubt they will do that so I’m stuck unless someone knows a fix?

I’ve got an issue where my Chinese Lenovo pad running the Chinese Rom isn’t able to play Netflix in HD despite all other video streaming apps working fine.

I’ve checked DRM Info - L1 there
I’ve checked integrity and full pass

I’ve even tried a factory reset but no matter what I do, Netflix is reporting L3 and playing the videos with a pixel filter.

It’s an AliExpress tablet still on the Chinese Rom, but it took the android 14 update over the air last year and is on ZUI 16.0.061.
Model TB132FU with the Kompanio 1300T.

Does anyone know what the cause, or even better, solution is to this?

I did try and google around but most of what I can find about this are people trying to get android 14 on it which just happened for me without effort but I think that update is what has knocked my Netflix out of whack

Hello all, I’ve recently upgraded to 900mbps fibre internet and to get around the constraints of wifi speeds I’ve laid Ethernet to my PS5 and my PC.

There are no issues with my PC but my PS5 is acting odd; it states the full 900mbs on its own speed test but when it comes to actually downloading games, it seems to be getting throttled / bottlenecked by something which is causing it to be slower than wifi.

What’ll happen is it will start the download get a few hundred megabytes deep and then stop, pause and allow the estimated time to rise and then just over time slowly add a couple hundred megabytes at a time.

So for example, I’ve a 22gb game half downloaded and it’s still stating over an hour left to download and has been between 9-10gb downloaded for the last 10 mins or so.

I’ve tried a few things in the PS5 settings ie DNS and static IP but it keeps happening.

One thing I’m skeptical of is EE sells a ‘gaming’ add on to their package and I know the router can see that it’s a PS5 so maybe it’s doing something weird with that?

I’m an Octopus refugee after they took 6 months to install my EV charger and that made me look at pastures new.

I opted for the EDF collective switch Jun27v2 via Uswitch as it was a day rate and night rate that was a happy balance between my low EV useage and my household needs.. I really didn’t like the idea of paying 33p per kWh for household stuff so this tariff brought that down.

The switch seemed to go going ok, got the welcome documents from EDF with the stated pricing being as expected.

Then came switch day and an email stating “here is your selected tariff” that points to a tariff of the same name but completely different pricing structure - it’s an 24hr standard rate which would mean charging my car would cost £5 more per full charge.

Of course I called them immediately, 0930hrs on the morning of the switch and was told by the call handler after some checking that it will just take 10-15 days for the meters to be calibrated and then I’ll be good.

That hasn’t happened and I’ve sent off a “please action” email only to be met with a response that is telling me “you are on the right tariff as per your agreement”.. and sure it’s the right tariff by name but it’s the wrong pricing structure completely.

Has anyone else had similar with EDF and now allow to get them to play fair?

I know I’ll be alright in the end as I have the supporting documentation from the USwitch email, onboarding email and then the change on switch day email.. so the omsbudman can sort it if EDF won’t but I’d really prefer to get it sorted before I end up paying far more than I should for my car charging.

New on EE as of today.

Went from 500mbs on my previous provider to a max theoretical of 900mbs with EE.

Sounds good.. except I’ll never actually see those speeds as I don’t have my house wired up.

I’ve just verified that when used on a laptop next to the router via cable that it does the full 900mbs… impressive.

However the router they are providing is essentially negating their guarenteed speeds and isn’t fit for purpose.

I’ve tried a couple of devices, all with them being the sole device connected and at best I’m getting 1/2 the advertised 900mbs.
I’m in the perfect spot too as I’m at the end of a full-de-sac and next to a field so the only interference would be my direct neighbours.

So essentially, even in the perfect conditions.. all my wifi devices.. which is all my internet devices.. will actually be seeing less than the 500mbs I upgraded from.

I know if I take this to EE themselves they’ll reference what speeds the hub is receiving which is all great but pointless it it can’t route that bandwidth appropriately.. so I guess my only choice to to finally invest in an actual router and be done with being at the whims of ISPs and their poor products.

The news of the new Nvidia RR update got me
playing with settings and overrides.

Ended up overriding Shadows to preset K with little to no issues.

I then started messing with frame gen and dynamic scaling and I just can’t get it to work I don’t think.

Turning it on has an effect, but not the desired one.. I was trying to figure out if the frame target was before or after frame gen and it seems like neither.. the dynamic resolution frame target doesn’t seem to be respected in any regard and yet turning on dynamic scaling does change FPS (usually down tbh, I’m guessing the game is choosing to scale with better fidelity than quality when it has the headroom, but when I try to force it to not have the headroom by wanting an even greater FPS target it doesn’t change its behaviour)

Anyone got any clues as to how you are supposed to set these up correctly?

Been in the market for a good controller for a while now and the 8k models seem to hit all the marks bar one.. aesthetics!
I know that’s very subjective but each variation currently available would stand out massively on my clean almost rustic desk.

The Nioh one is closest to being what I could envision on my desk but the design on the center plate and red sticks would stand out.

Is it possible to buy new faceplates for these models yet and are the sticks generic to gamesir controllers ?

If it isn’t possible I may have to wait for the Royal2 to become available in my area as that has a more conservative design.

Also can someone confirm- through Gamesir connect can I bind a button to something like Alt+shift+F3 as I have that as a Shadowplay shortcut. Even better is if you can bind press separate to hold.
