Is there any way to make Tyrannomon / Dinomon viable?

Rusttyrannomon was my first ever deck and I've tried to make it work in most metas, I was very excited when Dinomon came around but I've never found a way to make it work smoothly or make it somewhat viable (for locals, not true meta). Anyone got any ideas on how to make the deck more playable in the current format? It doesn't have to be tribal, I just like making tribal decks

[MF] The Siren's Song

[CW: Dr*g usage]

He woke with nails piercing his skull, still left from the night before.

The mattress below him was dank and drenched. his clothes the same.

He had lost the ability to smell days ago. Weeks? he didn’t need to worry about the stench he was emanating.

I need to stop, he thought hopelessly, no more.

But already, he was tightening the noose. A fresh needle sat seductively on the tray beside Him, beckoning Him. he could hear it, the Siren’s song. Beauty and peace, both within reach.

Maybe just one more. Then He’d be done.

My name is ***** ******, I am ** years old. I’m from ******.

The memories were returning, who he was, how he came to be.

As his head cleared, one nail slowly pushed out at a time, and the song grew louder.

The vibrato shook him to the bone, electrifying his body.

The Siren swam towards him, guiding his hand, as though they were dancing together.

When he started, he would wince as the needle impaled his skin, but by now he could barely feel it.

The music swayed through his veins like a leaf riding the wind, and his body slumped back onto a warm, welcoming cloud, ready to carry him away from here.

The decaying walls around him peeled away, revealing a sky filled full of colours he could barely comprehend.

He rose, the moisture in his cloud dampening his back, but he did not mind. he was flying.

The colours grew closer.

Closer.

Covering.

Smothering.

The rainbow sea enveloped Him, and he welcomed it as if it were an old friend.

In each colour, he saw a dream.

Some he recognised. Some new.

In red, he saw the most beautiful girl he had ever laid eyes on. An Angel, worthy of all the love in the world. If he had only spoke to her that day, maybe things would have been different. But that didn’t matter now. he watched as a strange, clean-looking man joined her. They danced and danced and danced, until the world around them crumbled. Why was he so lucky?

In blue, his parents. At least, that’s who he thought they were. They must be? Surely. he could recognise his own parents. They sat with a handsome young boy in a smart, well-fitting shirt. They were laughing, and he laughed along with them, cackling and wheezing like a leaking balloon.

Green, a man walking hand in hand with the Angel, a child riding his shoulders.

The two sat on matching thrones, old yet satisfied, in the wave of purple that he ran one hand through.

Why was this stranger mocking Him? How dare he invade his dreams.

Hue after Hue, they flowed. his heart slowed to match the rhythm of the current, as to not disturb his environment through its beating.

He could watch the colours for an eternity, and perhaps he did, but it could not last forever.

He could feel a disturbance, an intruder. Someone was coming to ruin his dream.

Who was it?

The Angel? But she looked so kind.

His parents? Did they even know he was still alive?

Not them, no.

He watched from his cloud as the handsome man emerged from the now overwhelming ocean, floating down to greet Him.

Hello, his mouth formed the words, but no sound escaped.

The handsome man smiled, its cheeks distorting, revealing sharp, taupe teeth.

His heart beat faster, and the waves of the sea accelerated.

The handsome man shrank, its body convulsing. From its behind, a long jagged tale sprouted, a scythe yearning to reap. Its head birthed stick-like antlers, plucked from a tree on the brink of decay. Its skin shifted and bubbled, like melting wax under open flame.

The Imp began to laugh, the same laugh as before, only now harmonised with the sound of shattering glass.

The ocean above grew treacherous, the waves crashing into a sickening froth.

His heart beat against his chest, longing, begging for escape.

A wish granted. The cloud below him faded, abandoning him like all the rest.

And he fell.

For a moment, he saw the Imp begin to follow, but he clamped his eyes shut as to not see.

Seconds, maybe more, passed as he awaited the crash. he only hoped his mattress would be there to soften his landing.

Instead, he collided with the concrete ground like the excrement of any bird, ready to be washed away by the rain.

Only he could not wait for the downpour, he knew the Imp was gaining on Him.

What would happen if he were caught? he couldn’t bear to find out.

Up he pushed, fighting the gravity that had brought him down.

He was surrounded by four walls, each decorated with various shades of mould. Before Him, a wooden door. he knew immediately that he had met the door before, but he could not waste time on thinking.

He ran, each step moved him forward hopelessly. he crashed through the door like a stone in a glass house, and found Himself in a familiar room. Faded-green walls covered with various posters and framed photographs, each showcasing people he did not recall.

Of course, how could He? There was not a face between them.

A bed lay untouched in the centre of the room, with sheets resembling a magical forest he wished he could escape to. But those sheets had not welcomed a guest in years, and they would almost certainly reject him now.

He had to keep moving. The Imp’s laughter grew louder.

He took notice of the dust that emerged from the carpet below him.

Uncaring.

Forgotten.

Another door. Another room. The laugher grew louder. Oh how he missed the sweetness of the Siren’s song. Where was that now?

The walls drew in around him. A cage, wanting to capture him, hold him. As if he were the Imp’s pet.

No. I can do this.

He began again, pushing over and over.

How many rooms? How many doors?

How many missed opportunities?

How much of his life had been ruined by the Imp?

Why should he allow such a force to continue to obstruct Him.

He would push this boulder up the hill no longer.

He knew what he had to do.
Always.

Turning, the Imp had caught up. It was only a matter of time.

I’m not afraid of you, he screamed. he was done running, he knew he would be better this time.

He would win.

The Imp stopped for a moment, puzzled, almost impressed by the declaration of courage.

Only the Imp knew better. The Imp had chased him before, and would chase him again and again.

It was always so fun.

His bravery remained, even as the Imp lunged at Him, wrapping its tail around him like a snake capturing prey. Jagged barbs dug into his body, but he did not even wince.

The Imp’s screeching laughter hammered away.

Cradling his head between its two grotesque hands, the Imp began to squeeze, injecting one razored fingernail at a time into his mind.

The cage dissolved, as did the ground below Him. One by one, the colours above began to scatter like raindrops, leaving him in a world of mundanity.

He woke with nails piercing his skull.

I need to stop.

A fresh needle sat seductively on the tray beside Him.

The Siren’s song.

Beauty and peace.

Maybe just one more.

Rash on leg not going away

Hi all,

I have a rash on my upper inner thigh that I cant seem to shake. I'm guessing it's a heat or sweat rash cause of the heat (although my other thigh is fine). It doesn't burn or anything but it's noticeably red. I've tried aloe vera and e45 cream but it doesnt seem to be going.

Any suggestions for products would be great, thank you

Interpretations of The Stand

Hi all,

Just finished reading The Stand for the first time (know many others on this sub are doing the same) and WOW. I'm kind of at a loss of what to do with myself. Honestly I think it's definitely one of King's most thematically interesting books - which is why I wanted to ask how different reader's interpret the story?

I'm sure King has explained the story (I'll be learning about that soon for All Hail the King) but I'm a big fan of trying to see different meanings outside of the author's intention.

My current thought's having just finished it is a mix. I think it's got a lot of interesting things to say about the cycle of violence and war (especially with the ending), kind of like the quote "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." Think this works with how the plague is implied to be caused by military meddling.

However there's also so much interesting stuff about faith and religious figures, and also multiple mentions of Aids in relation to Captain Trips. Trying to wrap my head around it all is exciting.

tl;dr What are your interpretations of The Stand?

Help - need a laptop for editing

Hi everyone,

Country - UK

Budget - around £500

Size - flexible, preferably smaller, current laptop is 12''

Weight - again flexible but the lighter the better

Usage - I mainly use my current laptop (Microsoft Surface laptop) for editing with da vinci resolve, Adobe premier and Adobe audition. Overall it's been a decent laptop but my main struggle is the terrible storage, which is why I'm looking to change. I do like to work out and about so if the laptop has better battery that's great.

Tl;dr need a laptop that can run Adobe software well and has very good storage. Quite simple really. Currently use and hate windows but have no apple devices and never tried any other system.

Advice for my dealing with my dad who thinks he can do everything

Hi all,

I'm 27 years old and still live at home, so I'm my father's right hand man when it comes to anything and everything. He's one of those people who always wants to fix things himself. My grandfather is the same, and so am I (except I am young and patient). He's only 65 now but significantly weaker than he was, can only stand for a short time, very poor eyesight and very little patience. He still insists on solving every problem himself - plumbing, car troubles, fixing furniture - except that means I have to solve every problem while he tells me what to do (frankly in an incoherent way, while searching for tools which "have been in the same place for 20 years" and yet are never where he says).

I don't want to seem like I'm bitter, even though after a full day of being on my feet as a teacher it does suck to come home and then out of nowhere have to assist in his next project, but I am also concerned of how angry he gets fixing things and the arguments caused between him and my mother.

For example, this week he dismantled his car's steering wheel because the horn wasn't working. He has multiple friends who are mechanics, but he refused to ask them for help. To be blunt, he has made the issue with the car way worse than it initially was, and unfortunately this is the routine with most projects. I then have to try fix the issue while he watches, and although I usually can with hours (sometimes multiple days) of work, it's extremely stressful as he gets very angry whenever I comment on anything (e.g. with the broken car part, I told him he had missed a step and he lost his temper, so we continued for an hour only to realise I was right and the step he skipped was vital).

Essentially, does anyone have any advice for dealing with ageing parents who still think they can do everything themselves / refuse to accept external help?

Thoughts on the documentary film and Episode 1?

Hi everyone,

My friend and I run a podcast where we talk about the production of TV shows, and pretty soon we're recording an episode on Catfish. We're going to be talking about how the show was made, and discussing in detail the documentary film and the first episode of the show "Sunny & Jamison".

Before recording, we like to talk to fans about their opinions on the episodes / the show as a whole. If you have any thoughts on the documentary film and the show (it's cultural impact, how it may have changed over time, especially now it's been cancelled, etc) please leave a comment.

Looking forward to talking to you all 😃

Thoughts on the Pilot and Episode 1?

Hi everyone,

My friend and I host a podcast where we talk about TV show production and pilot episodes, and pretty soon we're doing an episode on Æon Flux. Ahead of recording we like to talk with fans about their thoughts. We're going to be talking about the pilot episode (so the 6 shorts shown on liquid tv) and the first full-length episode produced (season 3 episode 1, Utopia or Deuteranopia?) If you have any thoughts on these episodes or just want to share your love of the show for any reason - please leave a comment!

Looking forward to talking with you all 😃

Thoughts on Poo Cocktail?

Hi everyone,

My friend and I run a podcast where we talk about the production of TV shows and our next episode is on Jackass. We're both big fans of Jackass (recently posted on here about the Jackass marathon party we threw) so it's been interesting learning more about how the show and films came to be.

In our show, we spend time talking about the production and then discuss the pilot episodes / first episodes of the show. For Jackass we're going to be talking about "Poo Cocktail" (and also Big Brother's "Number Two" video)

We like to get fan opinions to talk about on the show. If you have any thoughts on Number Two or Poo Cocktail (like how the show has aged, the show compared to the films, anything at all) please leave them as a comment.

Looking forward to talking with you all 😃

Just finished "Jackasathon" with my friend group

In preparation for Best and Last, I hosted a marathon for my friends where we watched all the mainline Jackass movies in one sitting. It was loads of fun rewatching them all and seeing how they got progressively crazier. Very excited now for us all to see Best and Last in the cinema when its out.

Stuck between names for my new podcast

Hi all,

I've been running / co-running 2 pods since summer last year and love all aspects of podcasting, to the point where I have an idea for a third podcast.

The idea is to go through and watch every TV musical episode in release order and talk about the episodes, shows, genre, and so on (one of my other podcasts does this for TV pilots so it's sort of a spin-off).

However, I'm stuck for a name. For a while I've been thinking of calling it "Once More With Feeling: A Musical Episode Podcast" named after the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode (what inspired the idea) but I imagine that'll have terrible SEO and make it hard to search (I'm not doing this hobby to go viral but I still want the podcast to be findable).

Another idea I had - "Why Are They Singing? A Musical Episode Podcast" just as a response to common criticisms of musicals as a genre.

Just curious of what other podcasters think of these names. Does it matter if your show shares a name with something else? Or if anyone has any other ideas.

For reference our other podcasts are "First-Time Flyers: A TV Pilot Podcast" and "All Hail The King: A Stephen King Podcast" just so you kind of know our naming scheme.

Do you think "screen free" classrooms are possible anymore?

Hi all, I've been thinking about starting this discussion for a while.

My background - foundation phase trained, supply across primary for 5 years, had 3 long term classes in that time (and lots of day to day).

Obviously these arguments have been done to death: this gen of students have low attention spans, lower independence or thinking skills, more behavioural issues, etc. Usually blamed on tech / screen time.

Honestly, I dont disagree with these claims - I wouldn't have a smart phone if it wasnt needed to function in society, and I personally do feel screentime effecting me personally as an adult, so I cant imagine what that would be like in the mind of a kid - especially someone who grew up as smart phones were just coming in and didnt have one until I was 14.

In my own classrooms in the past, I've kept tech limited both out of personal teaching style and school availability. iPads were only available at certain times and locked to whatever activity I wanted the kids to do (e.g. phonics). Granted, those were reception classes, so they still were happy actually engaging in the class provision activities.

I've noticed more and more as a supply that the behaviours of older years (years 3-6) pupils is very much correlated to their screentime both out of and IN school. I recently covered a class where the kids were, although generally pleasant and kind, very much not focused and obsessed with chromebooks. They even watch slime videos and other short form content for brain breaks.

Since this class I've been debating in my head if this style of teaching (tech focused, meeting kids where there at with tech) is the way to go or my preferred approach (as little tech as possible, honestly wouldn't even have an interactive whiteboard if I could (and didnt in 2 of my past classes)) is just unrealistic in the modern day. I've actually heard parents and other non-teachers say it's hypocritical to criticise screentime when kids also get a lot of screentime in school.

Granted of course I KNOW tech is a part of life, but in answer to that I would rather we go back to either computer rooms or that chromebooks dont live in the classroom and are only ever brought out for specific IT lessons.

Also I know many schools do things differently so of course share your own experiences. I am essentially just asking - Do you think there could be a "screen free" (apart from ICT) KS2/KS3 classroom nowadays?

Thoughts on Episode 1 and the Pilot episodes / shorts?

Hi everyone,

My friend and I run a podcast where we talk about the production of TV shows, and we're recording an episode on Beavis and Butt-Head this week. As part of our show we like to get long-term fans' opinions since although we're somewhat familiar with the shows (for example I've seen the Beavis and Butt-Head films) we're only dipping our toes in. For the episode we'll be watching the 2 pilots / shorts "Frog Baseball" and "Peace, Love and Understanding", and the first episode "Door-to-Door"

If anyone has any thoughts on these episodes or the show in general (how it's aged, opinions now compared to the newer series, etc.) please feel free to leave a comment - looking forward to talking with you all 😊

Confused about my Creepshow DVD

I recently got this creepshow dvd second hand but sealed. I was really excited to watch the movie but especially excited to check out the commentary. Only when I checked the only disk, I can't see how to actually find the commentary track. I also tried audio options but my player said there were none for the disk. Anyone also own this copy and have any ideas?

Thoughts on the first episode of the show (When You're Lost in the Darkness)?

Hi all,

My friend and I run a podcast where we talk about the production of TV shows and then their first episodes. Our next episode is on The Last of Us.

My cohost has played and loves the games, but not seen the show. I've seen the first season of the show and quite enjoyed it, but not played the games (I plan on playing a bit before we record).

Anyway, we like to ask what long-term fans think of the episodes (or whole show) that we're covering. If you've got any thoughts about the episode or show (how it translates the games, whether it's a good adaptation or a good show on its own, if episode 1 really captures the iconic parts of the start of the game, etc) PLEASE leave a comment and we can respond and talk about it when we record.

Looking forward to talking with you all!

Looking for a book that explores either gay/straight friendships OR failed gay relationships

Putting genre as romance as I guess that's close enough.

Title says it all really. I'm interested that explores relationships between gay guys. I'm not really into traditional love stories though - I like complex relationships (and frankly love doomed relationships).

In a similar sense, I'm also interested in reading books about gay people with straight friends, since that's my experience and I'd like to see that perspective in a good book.

These two themes don't have to tie together though haha. And it can be a different genre if there's a book that suits, honestly just anything close enough would be great!

Thanks in advance

I spent a stupid amount of time making Christine in Tomadatchi Life

I used the face paint feature. She does have a mouth that's hidden in the slats under the V. I tried to make her voice low and grumbly like a car engine

Thoughts on the Donkey Kong Country show (Episode 1)?

Hi everyone,

My friend and I host a podcast where we talk about the production and pilot / first episodes of TV shows. Our current theme is shows based on games and we're covering DKC next, specifically episode 1 ("Bad Hair Day" AND "I Spy with My Hairy Eye" since they are both episode 1 depending on where you are).

If anyone has any thoughts on these episodes or the show as a whole we'd love to hear them, we have a segment where we like to talk about fan perspectives.

Please leave a comment if you'd like to share 🐵

Hi all,

Quick one - I literally just got shortlisted for a lesson observation for Monday morning at 9am. Only thing is, after work tomorrow I'm away for the weekend until Sunday night. I'm thinking I'm just completely unable to prepare in time, and I've never had such short notice before (the few I've had before have been at least a week in advance). Is it standard to give such short notice?
