CIC reserve course booking

Hey all I’m supposed to be going on my cic course next week 28th but I’m still sitting as bid in progress and not confirmed. Obviously I have had to book 2 weeks off work for it and I’m not getting much info from my CoC about it, do I just assume I’m not going?

Maybe some positive movement for those in the Beds area

Also checked the status updates on the Bedfordshire police firearms updates page and they’re looking to process applications made in 2026 in ~33 days. Still back log to go through from last year though

How do you (or your agency) usually find/vet tools to recommend to clients?

Curious how this actually works for people who build andor manage stores for clients. when you are checking out a new app to recommend (inventory, QA, whatever category), what's your actual process?

Do you mostly go by App Store reviews, word of mouth from other devs/agencies, just trial n error installing things on a test store, or something else? And once you have settled on a tool you trust, do you keep recommending it across every build, or re evaluate per client?

Mainly asking because I'm wondering if whether there is a gap between what merchants discover on their own vs what actually gets recommended by the people building their stores. feels like agencies/freelancers might be a much bigger influence on what apps get installed than the App Store listing itself, but I don't actually know if that's true or just my assumption.

I’m at breaking point

I don’t really know where to start.
My girlfriend and I are having a baby together and we’re in the process of buying a house. On paper, it should be one of the happiest times of my life, but I honestly feel like I’m falling out of love with her more every day.
The biggest issue is that I feel we’re completely different people.
I’m very driven. I work ful time, I’m always trying to improve my career, I have side projects, goals and ambitions. I like having something to work towards.
She, on the other hand, has very little ambition. She spends most of her time watching TV or mooching in bed- doesn’t seem motivated to better herself, and I feel like she has almost no work ethic. It often feels like I have to carry everything. I don’t mean just financially, but mentally too. I’m always the one thinking ahead, planning, solving problems and trying to build a future.
Because of that, I feel like we have less and less in common. We don’t really share interests, and I don’t feel inspired or supported by the relationship anymore.
I know pregnancy can be exhausting and I completely understand that she’s carrying our child, so I’m trying to separate what’s temporary from what has always been there. But if I’m honest, a lot of these traits existed long before she became pregnant.
The part that’s eating me up is that we’re about to have a baby and move into our first house together. I don’t want to make a huge mistake by staying if these feelings keep getting worse, but I also don’t want to throw away my family because I’m expecting too much from a partner.

We argue because she says we don’t spend enough time together or I don’t “show her anything” but I’m always working, working late, working weekends to build some sort of stability. She doesn’t see that

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is this something that can realistically be worked through, or is it a sign that we’re fundamentally incompatible

Ghost Stock inventory health app now live on the App Store

Inventory problems don’t always announce themselves.

A product says it’s in stock but isn’t.

A SKU has been sitting untouched for months.

Duplicate listings slip through your net

Inventory errors slowly eat into your profits.
This is exactly why we built Ghost stock. We’re not another inventory management app.

We don’t create purchase orders.
We don’t forecast demand.
We’re not AI powered relying on AI guesses.

Ghost Stock scans your Shopify store and highlights inventory issues that need your attention, giving you a clear inventory health score and actionable insights based on your actual data.
If you run a Shopify store and want to know how healthy your inventory really is, give it a try.

Ghost stock now live

So my shopify app is now finally live on the App Store. Now the next thing to do is drive installs and scale up!

https://apps.shopify.com/ghost-stock-1

Please do check it out, look around and let me know what you think. It’s an inventory health app, data driven. I was originally going to make another stocky type Inventory app, but I thought I’d leave that to the big players and focus more on the inventory health side of things which doesn’t get enough attention. Inventory health is just as important as knowing what and when to order

Scale and sell

Hi!

Has anybody actually managed to scale and sell their Saas for 4 or 5 figs? I’m not talking about those AI success stories I want to actually know if it’s achievable, and if so where did you go?

Shopify App Review: do they test the whole app before sending issues back?

I’m currently going through Shopify App Store review for my first app and I’ve had an Action Required come back from the reviewer.

For anyone who’s been through the review process before, when Shopify sends feedback like this, have they generally tested the whole app and sent back everything they found in that review, or do they tend to stop when they find the first issue?
Basically I’m wondering whether fixing this and resubmitting means I’m likely near the end of the review, or whether the next review could uncover another list of things to fix.

Testers required

£20/$20 Amazon gift card as a thankyou

Would 3-4 store owners be willing to smoke test an app for me

**What I need from you:**
An active Shopify store with **100+ SKUs**
Around 20 to 30 minutes to install and test the app
Run an inventory health scan
Check some of the findings against what you know about your inventory
Tell me what worked, what didn’t, and anything that seemed inaccurate or confusing

**£20 / $20 gift card for your time.**
I’m **not asking for a review, rating or testimonial**. This is purely paid smoke testing and feedback before the app is released more widely.

Ghost Stock vs Prediko: Which Shopify Inventory Tool Is Right for Your Store?

See how they compare. I put together a comparison that breaks down where each tool fits because I thought it might help anyone deciding between them.

Shopify Inventory

I’m not a logistics specialist so never set out to build inventory software.

I’m an electrician by trade that learned coding from a full stack development course and YouTube. One of the most frustrating things on site is turning up to do a job only to hear, “We thought we had that part,” or, “It’s showing in stock but we can’t find it.” It wastes everyone’s time and usually means another visit. Then I realised the same thing happens when I’m shopping online. Cleens I love your trainers but I’m looking at you…..

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve ordered something from a Shopify store, got the confirmation email, then a day later received another email saying they’re really sorry but the item is actually out of stock.

As a customer it’s disappointing.

As a business owner I can only imagine how annoying it is having to refund an order, apologise and hope that customer gives you another chance.

That got me thinking. Surely there should be a simple way to spot inventory problems before they become customer problems. Prediko a great platform for inventory management and forecasting, Stocky now being retired very soon there isn’t an app yet that I have found that actually tracks what inventory health

So over the last year and few months I’ve been building Ghost Stock.

One thing I decided quite early on was that I didn’t want it to be another AI tool. There’s nothing wrong with AI, but I wanted every result to be based on actual inventory data and clear logic, not guesses. If Ghost Stock flags something, it’s because there’s a real reason behind it that you can investigate.

Apps ready for submission so I hope it can make a difference. If you’ve got this far then thanks for reading.

Any questions put your hand up first don’t shout out😉

MRR claims and “what I learned”

There seems to be a lot of “what I learned before reaching 100K MRR” posts floating around. Some of them it’s so easy to spot Ai written dog poo. Can we normalise not allowing these or taking any notice unless they’re accompanied by a TrustMRR

Ghost Stock, a Shopify app that helps merchants detect hidden inventory issues before they cost sales

Whats the app?

Ghost Stock is a Shopify app that automatically scans your store for hidden inventory issues that are often difficult to spot manually.

Rather than replacing your inventory management system, Ghost Stock focuses on inventory health by identifying anomalies, configuration problems and inventory inconsistencies before they impact customers or sales.

Where can i find it?

https://ghost-stock.co.uk

The Shopify App Store listing is currently in the approval process.

What problem is being solved?

Many inventory issues don't become obvious until customers experience them.

Examples include:

  • Products appearing available but not being purchasable.
  • Inventory inconsistencies across locations.
  • Stock anomalies that are difficult to identify manually.
  • Merchants spending time manually checking inventory health.

Ghost Stock helps merchants identify these issues proactively rather than reacting after sales are lost.

How does the app work?

The app connects directly to a Shopify store embedded and performs automated inventory health scans.

It analyses inventory data and highlights potential issues for merchants to review.

Features include:

  • Inventory health scanning
  • Automated scheduled scans
  • Inventory anomaly detection
  • Multi-location inventory checks
  • Low stock thresholds
  • Email alerts
  • Dashboard reporting

Who is the target merchant?

its targeted primarily for Shopify merchants with growing product catalogues.

Especially stores that:

  • Manage inventory across multiple locations.
  • Regularly introduce new products.
  • Have medium to large inventories.
  • Want greater confidence in their inventory accuracy.

The app is also designed to be useful for Shopify agencies managing multiple client stores.

How is the app different to other solutions?

We're not trying to replace inventory management software but Instead, it focuses specifically on inventory health. Most inventory apps help merchants manage stock. we help merchants identify hidden inventory issues before they become customer problems. The goal is to complement existing inventory workflows rather than replace them.

How much does it cost?

Starter - £14.99/month

Pro - £29.99/month

14-day free trial included.

We are currently looking for:

  • Shopify merchants willing to provide feedback.
  • Beta testers.
  • Shopify agencies interested in partnerships.
  • Ecommerce consultants.
  • General feedback on the concept.

I'm particularly interested in hearing about inventory problems you've experienced that you wish Shopify warned you about sooner. Happy to answer any questions, receive criticism or hear feature suggestions. I'd much rather improve the app before launch than assume I've solved every inventory problem.

What im learning trying to market a Shopify app before it's even launched

I'm the founder of Ghost Stock, a Shopify app that's currently in development.

One thing I've realised over the last few weeks is that building the app has been easier than figuring out how to get people to actually find it, or what their main pain points even are.

My goal is to have shops already interested before the app goes live, rather than launching to zero people. i have been thinking about offering cash incentives to "give it a go" test and provide feedback, would this work?

For those who've successfully launched a Shopify app:

What marketing channel produced your first 50 installs? Where was your main place to market before you even launched? I have a mailing list setup ready to go but its getting the interest and putting the product in front of the right people which is the hard bit.

I'd really appreciate hearing what worked and what didn't.

Looking for Shopify merchants to beta test Ghost Stock (inventory health scanner)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for 10-20 Shopify merchants who are happy to try the app before launch and give honest feedback.

In return you’ll receive:
£10 Amazon gift cards
Free early access
Direct input into new features
Priority support
Lifetime launch pricing

If you run a Shopify store and would like to help shape the product, I’d really appreciate your feedback.
