Trail/path for kid’s cross country practice?

Looking for a place my kid can run for cross country practice, probably around 4 to 8 miles. Doesn’t have to be one big loop, looping a shorter route is fine.

The catch is that my other kid would be tagging along on a bike. It’s a basic city bike, so paved is ideal, and hard-packed dirt might be okay, but loose gravel or rough trail won’t really work. They're only going together to keep from getting lost or at least they can get lost together.

Any parks, paths, or routes people like for this?

We'll be staying near Pioneer Park and one day we'll be tubing early, if that plays into any ideas.

Thanks

Which Fan for LOQ 15IRH8 - Type 82XV - 3050?

Fan bearings have gone bad in my laptop. Like others, Lenovo says to replace the whole heatsink but I'd rather just replace the fans.

I've found items that match the part number on the back of the metal part of the fan but the sellers all say for 4050 and I have a 3050.

Just looking for help. If the form factor is the same for the 4050 and 3050 fans.

Which Lighthouse has the old timey costumes kids can wear?

We visited a handful of years ago and my kids got to dress up in some old timey costumes. We printed a physical picture so now clue which lighthouse it was (we visited a lot). I only know it wasn't too far south since we didn't visit that area.

We are heading back this summer and would love to revisit the lighthouse and dress up again, especially since the kids are older.

Setting up a Vintage Story server for me and my two teen kids. What mods, settings, and tips would you recommend for a first playthrough?

I'm about to set up a Vintage Story server for myself and my two teenage kids. None of us have ever played before. We do play Project Zomboid, BG3, Terraria, and a few more together.

We're looking for a cooperative survival experience, that can we play together and separately. We are sort of specialists, one is into exploration, one is deep into game meta, and another more in to base building.

For a small family server (3-4 people):

  • What settings would you change from the defaults?
  • Which mods do you consider must-have?
  • Are there any mods that improve teamwork, shared progression, or family-style co-op play?
  • Are there any popular mods you'd recommend avoiding for a first playthrough?
  • Also, our computers vary from two decent laptops to a fairly good desktop.

Thanks!

Help Prune - Fuji Apple

we have a Fuji apple tree in the side yard that is up against a Santa Rosa plum. it’s never really been pruned and it’s getting high. all the fruit seems to grow up a high and just make the branches sag down. it’s about 12-13 years old.

the trunk branches at around 3.5’ and the height is around 15’ with one branch approaching 20’.

any advice on how to prune this and get it back to looking good?

South Bay party for 20ish college students, many first-timers in LA. What’s the most “LA” catering and killer dessert to get?

Hosting a party near the end of summer in the South Bay for about 30 people, mostly college students, including a bunch who have never been to LA.

I’m looking for catering ideas that feel very LA and would work well for a casual group party. Japanese food seems like it could be a great fit, but I’m open to anything memorable, easy to serve, and crowd-friendly.

Also, what’s a killer dessert worth picking up for the party? I’m willing to drive a bit if it’s really great. I have my personal favorites, but I’m not sure what would be the biggest hit with this crowd.

Camping the Oregon coast, looking for great running trails near each stop

My son and I are doing a coastal Oregon camping trip this July and staying at:

• Carl G. Washburne Memorial State Park
• Sunset Bay State Park
• Bullards Beach State Park
• Harris Beach State Park

I’m looking for good running trails near each campground, ideally in the 5 to 10 mile range.

What we’re hoping for:

• Scenic and beautiful is a huge bonus
• Safe and not insanely crowded
• Dirt or paved is fine - No sand
• We’ll already be camping in the parks, so nearby access is ideal. If we can start right from the campground, it's even better.

Open to anything from forest trails to coastal overlooks to beach-adjacent routes.

I've searched google and it mostly leads me to beach based runs.

Thanks

Looking for Napa-area trails where I can bike while my son runs 5 to 10 miles

My son and I will be staying in downtown Napa soon, and I’m trying to find a good trail where he can do a 5 to 10 mile run while I ride alongside him on a bike.

We’re looking for something:

  • Safe and not too crowded
  • Bike-friendly
  • Can be paved or dirt but not mountain bike level.
  • Ideally scenic

We don’t mind driving a bit outside downtown Napa if there’s a better option nearby.

Thanks!
