Opinions on getting an Akita mix puppy

Hi all, I know this sub is obviously gonna love Akita's but I'm also hoping yall with be honest with me.

My partner and I are looking at getting another dog. We have an older female mixed breed who's very sweet and just wants to nap. We also have a male young Husky mix he LOVES other dogs but is very shy around new people but he just wants to play with other dogs all the time.

We've been looking for another Husky or Husky mix to bring to the family and there is a puppy we're interested in that is half Akita and half Husky/german shepherd. Obviously we have experience with "harder" breeds with huskies and I grew up with an Akita/Border collie mix who LOVED people but had some aggression issues with other dogs. We didn't let her around dogs and did very slow introductions when a family member brought in a new dog and they still had minor scuffles. She was overall a really great dog though.

We live in a tight knit community with adults a few children and a bunch of dogs. And folks often come over and help us by letting dogs out while we're at work. And neither of us have had experience with any people aggressive dogs. Our shy husky mix has growled at some people when he feels cornered but has never snapped or bitten and he normally tries to run away from strangers over anything else.

Basically I want to know if there's things I may not be thinking of with this puppy mix or if they may not be a good fit etc. if we'd be good a fit for them etc etc. or any advice and all that. Thanks for any input!

I wanted to see if my dog's fur would spin and made a swatch!

I'm brand new to spinning, so don't be too harsh on the yarn lmao. But he almost gives a mohair effect lmao

Tips for more consistent drafting?

Obviously practice makes perfect but I was wondering if anyone has any helpful tips for a beginning? I got a free drop spindle at a fair and have been absolutely struggling with making my yarn consistent. I've added a photo of my first attempt that I'll probably turn into a dryer ball lmao.

mattress recommendations for motion isolation that won't sag?

In the market for a new mattress. My partner moves around a lot in his sleep so something with motion isolation would be ideal. We currently have a sealy pillow top that started sagging a year after getting it and just proceeded to get worse so now there's a huge dip in the middle that pulls us both into it. So looking for something that won't sag. We'd prefer memory foam and a medium firm.

The Poison Daughter plot hole?

Just started the poison daughter recently based of a recommendation and good reviews. I'm 15% of the way through (so minimal spoilers please) , she just met her fiancé, had the headache, and now is prepping for whatever event that day.

My question is, if the mother can see into peoples pasts and has helped Harlow's dad find out about plots against him why can't she just do that with Henry and his family while they're in the house? Seems like something they would do and do immediately. Maybe this is addressed later and I just haven't gotten to it but not sure how they would justify this unless no magic works on them like Harlow's kiss on Henry (also Henry is a horrible name for an MMC)

Also I feel like the author keeps restating the same thing in multiple ways in like 5 sentences right after each other. Does she keep doing that or does it get better cause I really don't see how this is a 4.4 star book right now

Any way to prevent jays tipping platform?

I get mostly stellar’s jay’s and grosbeaks. They both love the platform feeder but the jays always land on it so aggressively and tip all the seed out (the loop clasps are adjustable, I’m wondering if I should try glueing them in place or just buying a new feeder). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I got the peanut ring in hopes they’d be more into that, and it has lengthened the time it takes them to tip the platform but it’s still ends up tipping over.

Scam alert: Orphic Beauty dry shimmer oil

I saw this company on Instagram and have followed them for a while. I finally decided I wanted to give them a try before a vacation. I heard NOTHING for two weeks after ordering, I emailed them to cancel the order because it wasn’t going to arrive before the trip, got no response. A week later got an email saying it shipped and now almost two weeks later it’s still just “shipping label created.” Have tried to contact them multiple times and heard nothing. Based on Trustpilot it looks like this is a common occurrence and people are never receiving their orders, I wish I had checked there first. I’m gonna be contacting my bank for a chargeback and to report it as fraud. But just an FYI to everyone else, avoid this company!

What is proper aftercare for Brazilian?

I got my first Brazilian wax and 24 hours later I have foliculitis. She told me to avoid heavy exercise so I don’t sweat and start exfoliating 4 days later. I didn’t sweat yesterday or anything and I don’t wear tight clothes either. I’m now getting a prescription cream to help clear it up, I got it via a teledoc appointment with pictures.

Did I do something wrong? Is my skin too sensitive? Should I avoid waxing in the future or try someone else?

Edit: typos

[Anti-aging] recs for bakuchiol I can add into my moisturizer?

Im currently using a retinol but my job has me out in the sun most of the day everyday, so I’d like an alternative that doesn’t make me more sun sensitive. I really love my current moisturizer and I just add two drops of my retinol to it and mix it up, hoping I can find a bakuchiol that I can do the same with!
