So I am planning on going to Toronto FANEXPO this year and have been prepping the books I would like to get signed. I am a comic person so 99.9% of my signings interest and knowledge is around that. HOWEVER, i do love The Boys show and i do love Erin Moriarty so i was excited to see that she would be attending and doing signings, and was thinking of either getting my Boys omni or a Starlight Boys cover signed by her…but it got me thinking.

How come it seems like celebrity autographs on things like comics/posters/etc. of characters that they portrayed in movies/shows often hold much less value or appreciate much less than comic creator autographs?? My original thought is that there will always be a fleeting excitement over actors and their character portrayals since value is often stocked in the celebrity themselves, whereas for comic creators the value is in the art that they have created and the legacy of that story. But then that snowballs into me asking “okay if that is true, then shouldn’t celebrities be given the same appreciation of creating a legacy for their characters by giving them a voice/mannerisms/etc. ?” Idk, I am just spit-balling but it has made me curious on why this discrepancy does exist and I would love to hear others’ thoughts on it!

Hello everyone! I am a 23M who is thinking about taking the long route to becoming a pilot and just need some advice/would like to hear from those more experienced that could give their perspective.

So I have graduated from university with a business degree, got married (high-school sweethart), and am now working at an accounting firm. My lifelong dream has always been to be a pilot and when I was a kid, I started taking classes towards getting my PPL. But life got busy and unfortunately, the weekend lessons took a backseat to eventually just not happening. And looking back now, I can say that was probably one of my biggest regrets in life. So now, I want to correct that. I just can't stand this job and keep thinking about how amazing it would be for me to get back to flying and getting a job for an airliner. So I started doing research, but now that I am getting kind of deep in the research I am starting to hesitate and I guess just need some reassurance as well as some opinions on how to achieve this career path?

• Am I too old? I know you have probably been asked this a million times and that it is never too old but, seriously, am I just daydreaming and throwing my life away just to rebuild and never reach a fulfilling level?
• How is the family life? I know that events are often described as the biggest downside to the job but that is okay with me. My biggest concern in reality would be how much time I get to spend with my wife. We both want kids eventually and I don't want to be in a position where I am still in the beginning stages of a career as a father, leaving my wife to take care of everything, and missing my children growing up.
• If I were to start, what is the best path to take? After doing some research, it seems like there are essentially 3 paths that I consider to be optimal, each with their own positives and negatives. 1) The "Jazz Approach": a cadet program which offers all IAPTL training and requirements, as well as a guaranteed FO job at Jazz (regional for Air Canada). Downsides are that it is much more expensive, limited, and from the sounds of it is not a guaranteed job as much as it is a somewhat guaranteed conditional offer. 2)The IAPTL program (ie. Brampton Flight Centre): a structured program that offers an aggressive and structured path to complete all ratings and licenses required. This seems to be the best balance in terms of price and opportunity. While there are no guaranteed offers like 1), they have partnerships with Jazz and WestJet Encore that have preferential hiring. 3) Full solo: doing it all myself from the ground up. While this may be the cheapest option, it is not structured and would not provide me with as much knowledge or experience that I feel I would get with a structured program led by experts. I also believe that I would appreciate something like the previous 2 options where there is a level of security in the structure of the program itself and not having the feeling that I am just "alone" and on my own in trying to pass all of these tests and requirements.
• For those that left a previous position to pursue this, how was it? Although I am miserable at my job and would have no problem leaving it, the actual action of quitting and going back to school to restart my career path is terrifying to me and I don't know if it is something I would be able to push myself to do.

Hey everyone! I’m a 23M and just yesterday found out that i have shingles. My symptoms first started around 4 days ago now (third day was yesterday and also when I started the antiviral) and I have been really scared by it honestly. I’m not immunocompromised or anything so I don’t know how I got it ://

I have two small concentrated clusters on my right back, but one is right on my shoulder blade so it is excruciating. Like I mentioned, I am now on day 2 of the antiviral but the pain is just unbelievable and I can feel it wrapping around all the way to my chest.

I was also prescribed 500mg of naproxen but I have stayed away from it since i have IBS, and scared that it will worsen my condition if i do.

I am just looking for advice and how long you all think this will take to go away? I also am really concerned from what i’ve read that it can cause damage to your eyes/vision and want to know if I’m at risk. Honestly, it spreading is what is worrying the most right now. Also, once it’s gone can it come back? Am I stuck with shingles for the rest of my life?

Hey everyone! So i was looking into making a custom minibus and was wondering if i was strictly bound (ha) to only being able to bind existing floppies into a single book or if i could send a massive pdf with everything to print? i have everything as a pdf in very high quality so i would prefer to go that route instead of having to hunt down hundreds of floppies.

Genuinely curious to hear other people’s experiences: how much do you read a day? Whether it be number of issues a day, pages a day, etc.?

For me, I used to read at LEAST 10 issues a day. Started a new job and now it has tanked to barely being able to consistently stick to 1 a day. I feel like I am missing out on so much and falling off of all my reading plans/lists lol. Really trying to force bumping the number up again but I just don’t have any time :(
