With just three weeks remaining, AIPAC and other super PACs have already spent over $50 million into defeating Abdul El-Sayed.
The United Democracy Project, a super PAC affiliated with AIPAC, has spent over $50 million in the race, This is part of a broader spending advantage by groups supporting, Rep. Haley Stevens.
This spending is unprecedented for a Michigan primary and has turned the race into a proxy war between democracy and corporate greed and foreign interest.
El-Sayed has called the AIPAC donations "legalized bribery at its worst" and has refused corporate PAC money. He has also said he would not seek the group's support. Stevens has welcomed the backing, which comes from a group that previously supported her
