Copper Deficiency / Bartonella

Has anyone dealt with a copper deficiency related to bartonella? Have you successfully brought up your copper levels and seen improvements?

Copper is my only nutrient deficit and a lot of my remaining symptoms line up well with low copper.

New here trying to understand copper deficiency

I did a spectracell test and Copper was the only thing I'm deficient in. I've had chronic muscle/joint pains and insomnia for over a decade as my main symptoms and have had low WBC on almost every blood test I've done for also the past 15 years.

I've struggled with Lyme and Bartonella and treated for a couple of years. Currently trying to determine if I have a reactivated infection.

Any advice?

Anyone deal with underlying chronic infections that have led to low copper?

Anyone see improvements in sleep or chronic pain with supplenting copper?

Spotting lasting for a few days

Does anyone spot for days after their period? I've noticed my spotting lasts longer since getting it back. Like up to cd7-10. It seems to completely stop as soon as my fertile window opens and I have some egg white discharge.

Before my first baby I had a pretty typical 4 day period with maybe a day of spotting a day before and after.

Is this anything to be concerned about in regards to TTC?

Convertible Car Seat - cheap / occasional use

I want to send a car seat to my in laws so when we visit them there's one available. We only visit ~2x a year so it's not going to get a ton of use.

  • Safety is of course #1 priority
  • Less than ~$230 (otherwise, I'm just going to get the Graco extend2fit)
  • Ease to install
  • Not rotating (prioritizing more lightweight)
  • Can ship in the next week
  • Edit: Toddler is 25 lbs currently, rear facing. So the infant seats/inserts aren't important

Thanks!

Bartonella Relapse?

Has anyone dealt with a reactivated or relapse of bartonella infection? I treated for 2 years and achieved negative test results a couple of times and most of my symptoms were gone. I got pregnant shortly after treating and pregnancy was fine other than some leg pain.

~4 months postpartum I got covid and I think that may have reactivated my bartonella because I've had persistent leg weakness, knee/ankle/foot/shin pain since. I'm 15 pp now.

I retested with Galaxy and 4 strains of bartonella came back positive this past month. Previously we only tested for 2 strains. But I even had a negative TLab in 2024.

What is treating a reactivated infection like? Is there other testing worth pursuing?

My dad biked across the US in 1979 with a guy he met through a newspaper ad. 47 years later they designed their own 280 mile ride: “Bridge to Bridge” (Detroit to Buffalo)

Part 3 (this post!): The backstory is that my dad biked across the US in 1979 with a guy he met through a newspaper ad. Their trip started in Santa Cruz, CA and ended in Hartford, CT. They lost contact after that but out of the blue that guy reached out to my dad via snail mail and they were reunited 45 years later in 2024.

Just a couple weeks ago the reunited buddies wrapped up a self designed tour they called "B2B" (Bridge to Bridge) riding from Detroit to Buffalo. They started at the Ambassador Bridge and finished across the Peace Bridge back into the US. The trip was roughly 280 miles over 5 days through Ontario.

Part 2: My dad biked across the US in 1979 with a guy he met through a newspaper ad. They reunited 45 years later.

Part 1 : My dad biked across the US in 1979. He revisited Route 50 in Nevada to take a new pic.

Premom OPK cd 9

It’s a hair lighter but the test was incredibly negative 4 and 8 hours later. Lots of CM for 3 days.

Did you get an US or check in with OB before TTC for baby #2?

I had an emergency csection in May 2025 and we're starting to try for baby #2. My OB had recommended waiting a min of 12 months, ideally 18 months. So, we're kinda right in between that right now.

My scar healed well, I've been evaluated by a pelvic floor therapist, and done a little scar tissue massage. However, I am wondering if it's common/recommended to see an OB for a possible ultrasound or other eval before TTC again?

My fear is trying for a few months just to later find out something is wrong (anxiety, i know). So I'm curious what others typically do before I start nagging my OB.

Everyday sling a small diaper bag?

I keep eyeing the everyday sling but can’t figure out if it would be a stupid purchase for my purpose haha. I want a sling bag for sure - I hate wearing a full back pack.

I want a sling bag mainly to carry:
-some snacks
-one diaper & a small pack of wipes
-maybe a toy
-maybe a small 12 oz water bottle

Tbh it’s bound to get kinda dirty because I’m juggling a toddler and all his messiness.

I keep going back and forth on 3l & 6l too if I go forward with one.

Any opinions welcome!

Are there opening acts at Felton music hall?

Are there usually openers at Felton music hall? I can’t find any info. Mostly curious for tonight’s show.

Edit: we ended up calling and they confirmed there was only one act 8-9:30pm. We went and indeed the one act started shortly after 8pm. Woohoo!

Any known implications of taking LDN while trying to conceive without fertility issues?

I’ve been on LDN for 3 months for chronic pain and sleep issues and have seen positive impacts. I’ve seen plenty of benefits of using LDN for fertility and while there aren’t large studies, it’s seemingly safe during pregnancy. However, I didn’t have fertility issues with my first baby so I am not using it for fertility.

I’m just starting to try for a second baby and am wondering if there are any known implications or if the risks outweigh the benefits of using LDN for issues unrelated to fertility. That is: I didn’t have problems conceiving the first time. Should I worry about staying on LDN for my non-fertility related issues?

I will be talking to my OB but curious to hear if this community knows of anything.

Does a dead butterfly mean anything?

I’m looking for a sign and am wondering if a dead butterfly can mean anything. My husband found this one in the backyard.

Corgi/husky escaped near the circles

Update 9:35pm: Lincoln is home!!! He found his way home. Thank you for your support!!

Looking for lost dog named Lincoln that escaped near the circles heading toward neary lagoon. If anyone sees please comment last seen. He’s tan/tricolor, long and short, looks kinda like a fox. He’s friendly but will likely run - any sightings help!

Updating at 7:54: there were a couple sightings near Hollywood Ave and Miles st. We’re still looking for him. He’s made it closer to our home on the upper west side.

Instagram: @lincolndogthelog for more photos or to DM sightings.

Nanny sick days / time off

We’ve had a new nanny for 2 months and in that time she’s had 3 sick days and requested one day off for a fun reason and another day off coming up next month. So in the span of 3 months she’ll have taken 5 days off on her own account + I’m giving her 2 holidays off by my choice.

Then she told us she needs a month off (unpaid) for a medical procedure but that we can choose the month.

She works part time for us and we didn’t do a contract but we feel sick days and time off should be paid…within reason. But the time she’s already taken but upcoming…I’m regretting my choice of hiring her.

We didn’t have this issue with our last nanny so it took us by surprise and it’s already feeling like an issue. We don’t have backup childcare but wfh so we can manage but at the expense of our work and the fact that we’ve been paying her.

Is this an abnormal amount of time off? At what point do we cut ties and is excessive sick time an ok reason?

I didn’t have my phone on me but saw some people taking video. It was a wild scene! The bird made it out alive but poor thing looked so tired.
