It always bothered me that Obi Wan would leave Anakin to suffer limbless, it makes more sense that he'd mercy kill him because of their friendship. What if that scene was redone so that Obi Wan does indeed give a final speech about their long friendship and why hes sorry for what hes going to do. As the fights going on we can show Palpatines ship in the background landing which can lead into showing Obi Wan about to give the mercy kill strike only to be zapped and pushed backwards off screen while Obi Wan attempts to block it with his lightsaber. This keeps Obi Wan alive for all the sequels after it but also explains why Anakin would be so loyal to Palpatine + why Obi Wan didnt try to do the "right" thing for his friend. Thoughts?
