Just finished refurbishing this dsi xl, and its in amazing condition, everything works more than perfectly, but apparently the game card reader doesnt work T-T
Edit: it works now :0, i changed out the motherboard, soldering in a new gamecard reader is a drag

Looking for old joycons, they can be broken, used, bad condition, whatever.
First ever joycon shell swap, and installed a gulikit tmr joystick
First NDSL i successfully refurbished. Any comments would be appreciated :)
Seller's description: Original Nintendo 3DS (Blue) FOR PARTS OR REPAIR
Charges normally and in good shape, when turned on it makes a sound and turns off. Might only require light repair. Console is flawless otherwise.
Price: 55$
I was putting back this ndsl together but for some reasoj the motherboard wont sit right, which is csusing issues when i put it all back together. I checked, but it doesnt seem to be the mic cable or antenna.
Any thoughts? :(
Edit: the motherboard sits well when i disconnect the top screen flex cable, could the issues be from the top frame or the way i placed the top screen?
Where can i buy an actual sword.
Getting into electronics repair as a hobby and currently working through a bulk lot of broken DS Lite/DSi/3DS units for refurb and resale, also modding a Switch V1 (looking at SX Core/Hwfly/Picofly territory).
Been eyeing a trinocular stereo scope, landed on the Forward FW-S60Promax-S (7-45x zoom, no sliding base, $240) over the $60 digital HDMI screen ones since I'll be soldering live under it, not just inspecting after.
Anyone here running a Forward scope specifically? Im curious about:
Actual working distance, is it enough to comfortably fit an iron under it, or does it get cramped?
is Forward decent, or should I be looking at AmScope/other brands in this price range?
Zoom range is 7-45x enough for fine pitch stuff (QFN pads, modchip install points) or should I go higher
Budget's around $250-300, want something I'll actually keep using for years, not something ill outgrow in six months. Appreciate any real world experience.
Also curious about the sliding base (TS) option, it's $50 more and lets the scope head slide forward/back on a rail instead of moving the board. For loose handheld/Switch boards on a bench, is that actually useful, or is it more for stuff like full size boards still in a case/shell where you can't easily move the work itself? Trying to figure out if it's worth the extra $50 or just a nice-to-have I won't use.
Thanks in advance! :p
Recently got into soldering as a hobby, and got the bare essentials, but i want to do micro-soldering (installing a nintendo switch modchip), so i was wondering what a good budget option is? Are digital microscopes anygood?

Recently picked up a hobby of electronics repair and i have a few questions for people who are experienced in this field.
Mostly interested in consoles and controllers (nintendo, playstation...), would be willing to look at othet stuff. If you can reccomend places to buy things like these in beirut that would be very helpful.

Dm or comment if you have any offers, especially looking for nintendo consoles and broken ds4/ds5 controllers.
